Akarma brings you another piece of essential rock history with Noel Redding's Road. Redding was also a member of the Noel Redding Band & Fat Mattress, not to mention Jimi Hendrix's astounding bassist. Recorded at Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles in 1972, the trio features Redding on bass, Rod Richards on guitar & Leslie Sampson on drums, with all three taking turns on vocals. A classic power trio whose only album finds itself at home in the heavy rock terrain, & which hasn't faded one bit in the past 30 years. A necessary tribute to these megaliths of rock.

For the most part this is a very average blues rock album, but there are a few more psychedelic cuts:- the opener, a million years is a heavy psychedelic cut; memory tree, a much softer slice of psychedelia and the finale, night flash.

A true psychedelic gem, this is. This was a Boston band and their album got lost in the shuffle of the boss town sound tm hype. That figures; not that these guys were the VU by any stretch... this was a nice, safe, contemporary, creative, collegiate psychedelic band. Musically, they had a Doorsian line up -one guitar, one keyboard. There was a bass guitar along with drums, though, unlike the Doors. What's more, they also had three fully functioning vocalists and no Doorsian pretentions. It was enough for some kind of "minor classic" blurb in this or that catalog of collectables.

Original Pasted U.S. Hardboard Sleeve - Gatefold. Originally released in 1975 on ABC. A sound inspired by (and very close to) the great Santana (circa Abraxas-era). Chango, God of virility & strength, also of thunder & lightning. Above all is representative of unbridled sexuality. There is no deity more vehement, nor energetic. Could be described as the "God of All".
