Van Abbe is back with No Comment presenting 2 originals, a monologue from Guy Tavares (Bunker Records) + an Evigt Moerker Remix. What did you feel the first time you were stargazing? Standing alone in a dark backyard with your neck bent and the light from a thousand distant suns glittering in your bright eyes. Did the overwhelming sensation of your own triviality descend upon your young soul like a Dementor from Azkaban? Or did an unprecedented yearning breach every fibre of your being, compelling you to break free from the shackles binding you to the very ground? If you are in the latter category, this music is constructed especially for you. Its a spaceship built from wooden barrels and rusty metal crates, pinned together with a multitude of crooked nails. But it works. It really does. You just have to make your mind broad enough to fit your clumsy terrestrial body in the spacecraft. The booming engines and the melodic bleeps from the control panel will do the rest. Soon enough you will find yourself surrounded by the very stars you used to gaze upon as a child.

You're walking up that hill at the outskirts of the city. It's the last days of summer and the sun is flooding the world below with it's yellow heat, as if it was sprinting towards the finish line. The air is trembling with fever and the distant sounds of the city, but on top of the hill there's a place that neither sun nor man can ever stir again. As a child you called it The Castle, and you still do. It's the gigantic carcase of an industrial plant. Once a place for productivity and prospect, later a place for ecstasy and rebellion, now an empty shrine for nostalgic hearts. You enter The Castle, piously, and it's cold and gloomy inside. The only thing asserting you of the existence of an outside world are dim rays of sunlight breaking through the resting places of filthy windows. It's dead quiet, but you know what to do. Your right hand is pressed against the cold wall of the Great hall. Your eyes are closed and you wait. After a while the crumbling walls begin to trust you, or at least accept your presence. And they start to sing. They sing of machines that hammers and thumps tirelessly, of masses of bodies moving in sync, of dissonant melodies flowing through the air, of sharp metal clangs and muffled machine murmurs. After a while, their deep voices fade away. A couple of years ago, they would sing for hours. Now it feels like minutes. No one is left to listen to them. No one but you. This is Albert's VANABBE03, the Dutch Minimalist's open invitation to his debut album coming this spring.

Concluding his debut album Champagne Palestine, van Abbe presents 4 new Visions on his VANABBE04. The blue, scorching sun is on the rise again, the greedy bastard. Eleven days had it come for you, eleven days had it failed. But it wouldn't be long now. The sky above you and the sea below offer no shelter, they're just equally blue. As far as you know that's the only colour left in this world. On the second day, you drank from the water that had spilled from your eyes and drowned the desert but the taste of your memories just made the tears pour out again. No use. You're only alive because of the Visions; they're haunting you, giving you glimpses of hope in that indigo hell you so ardently want to leave your mortal body behind in. They mean something, but what? The First Vision: Birds of prey circling over a grand city towering the desert. The Second Vision: A white tower crashing down, the very earth throbbing and rearing like a warhorse on a battlefield. The Third Vision: A ruined metropolis under water, deep down on the bottom of the sea. The Fourth Vision: Glistening bubbles floating majestically in nothingness. That's it. Then the torment starts over again: The birds, the tower, the drowned city, the bubbles. The azure sky doesn't offer any answer, nor does the blue sea underneath. Or does it? Perhaps... yes... the bubbles... what if... Suddenly a movement below. A bright red carp hovering in the sharp, salty water, a single bubble breaking free from its crimson lips. "But carps are freshwater fish", is the last sane thought that passes through your head before you follow the red carp down, down the sea of tears.

After 15 years of recording music Albert van Abbe releases his debut album on self-titled label VANABBE. 9 signature ''deep & dry'' minimalist Techno trips using small prepared piano fragments. You wake up on a gold-embroidered divan in the middle of a desert with nothing but a worn canvas stretched between two lonely palm trees to shield you from the blazing sun. You have no idea where you are or how you got there. Your mind seems to flutter along with the air above the scorching sand, but it is as blank as the sky. Then something breaks the paralysis: A bright red scarab. It hovers with a loud humming sound before your eyes and then takes off. You don't know why but you have to follow it. You start running after the scarab but it's too fast so with an instinctive leap you throw yourself up on the back of a white Arabian horse that clearly wasn't there until your desperation overpowered reality. But there's no time for reason. Not now. The scarab is gleaming in the sun as it flies faster and faster through the desert dunes. Your stallion can barely keep up, but you have to catch it. It's the key to... something. Everything perhaps. You ride for hours and hours and after a while the heat and the sound of galloping hooves detaches your mind from your body. Fragments of memories start to trickle through... whitewashed houses, a vibrant bazaar, bright colours, heaps of fragrant spices... but then a black shadow swallows the whole scenery. You come to and release that it's night - the giant moon is red and your horse is dead but keeps running all the same. Your left hand is clenched around the scarab. You halt the faithful stallion with a kind word and it disintegrates into dust. Down on your knees in the sand, you cautiously open your hand. The crimson scarab sits still in your palm, glistering in the moonlight, vibrating slightly. With a cold shiver, you realise that its wings are shaped like two red lips, opening and closing gently. And you KNOW these lips! You know them better than your own. Slowly, you raise your hand to your ear and the scarab's wings start to whisper in it. Before dawn, the tears from your eyes have made the desert no more.
