Release:1969 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Organic Grooves
Blues Creation was founded in Tokyo in 1969. They released this, their impossibly rare debut of American blues covers, that same year. Featuring covers of Sonny Boy Williamson, Chester Burnett, Memphis Slim, Willie Dixon, and more, this is the greatest recorded example of the Japanese obsession with American blues music. The band would record several more albums and then come back as, simply, Creation, but nothing reached the sheer blues rock heights of their debut.

Genre:Organic Grooves
Formed in Bermuda in 1968, The Invaders are responsible for what is arguably the most sought after piece of Island Funk in history, their lone long player, 1970s Spacing Out. Full of funky breaks, Meters-esque guitar work, and tripped out horn lines, Spacing Out is not simply collectible because of its exotic locale, it is a stone funk classic that holds its own against such luminaries of the genre as The Meters, The JBs, and the Nite-Liters. An absolutely essential piece of funk history available again on LP, and this version won’t cost you a month’s rent to own.

Release:1971 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Formed out of the ashes of the legendary UK mod-pop group, The Action, Mighty Baby kept much of that group’s soul-inflected pop-psych sound but upped the psych ante quite considerably. Mighty Baby stands as one of the most cohesive and coveted of 1960s UK psych. It is the complete package, blistering guitar work from Martin Stone, studio trickery, amazing songwriting, great vocals, this record is the real deal and fully deserving of its reputation. The band would go on to record with legends like Keith Christmas, Sandy Denny, and more, as well as record a second album in 1971, but nothing can surpass the pure psych perfection of their debut.

Bandido is a rare and sought after piece of Mexican funk rock, originally released in 1973. Nearly impossible to find on LP until now, this octet cut only the one classic album and then disappeared. With a ripping horn section and some nice organ work, the band mixes funk, hard rock, jazz, soul, and latin influences in equal measure concocting a beautiful stew that will appeal to a wide range of collectors. Once again Barnyard delivers an LP with "el sabor mas rico!"

LP | 1975 | EU | Reissue (Barnyard)

Release:1975 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
At last here's a vinyl reissue of a rare and sought after private press LP that came out of the small but heady scene of 1970s Milwaukee. Led by Jim Spencer -who was a major player in the Wisconsin underground both as a musician and a writer/publisher of counterculture magazines, including 'Freek'-, Major Arcana released this lone LP in 1975. Generating comparisons to Pearls Before Swine and, of course, Bob Dylan, Major Arcana's s/t LP benefits from subtle musicianship, refined arrangements and quality songwriting. Covering ground from folk, to hippie tinged pop, to jazz, to blues-rock, the album is held together by Spencer's distinct voice and poetic spirit. A classic piece of the 1970's hippie underground that fetches serious coin at auction is available again for less than an arm and a leg.

Release:1973 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Recorded in 1968 - though not released until 1973 - the only album from Los Amigos De Maria, simply and effectively titled Rock, is perhaps the premier piece of Chilean psychedelic hard rock. Though the rest of the record is solid and effective, nothing matches the absolute raw power of the lead-off track, a nearly 10 minute Zeppelin-esque ripper entitled "Vuelve a Comenzar" that will probably go down in the annals as the heaviest track in 1960s South American rock history. Though they never recorded again and disappeared into obscurity soon after the release of this album Los Amigos De Maria left one of the finest pices of South American rock in their wake, reissued here on vinyl for the first time in ages!

Genre:Rock / Indie
Raised on a heavy dosage of good ol' American rock and roll - of both the 1950s (Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry) and 1970s varieties (The MC5, The Stooges, The Velvets) - these 4 youngsters from working class Hamilton, in Southern Ontario, set their town, and soon after all of Canada, ablaze in the late 1970s with their raucous live act. Drawing their name from The Flamin' Groovies classic 1971 LP, Teenage Head formed in 1975 when all the members were classmates together at Westdale High School. After a few years of honing their chops and legendary live show, this LP, their debut album was released in 1979. A ripping mix of punk attitude and 50s rock riffs, Teenage Head are not interested in politics or philosophy: this is just young, loud, and dumb punk rock - the way it should be. Though their next album would make them stars across Canada with two hit singles, this album is their finest and most urgent recording.

An Experience In The Blackness Of Sound
LP | 1971 | EU | Reissue (Barnyard)

Release:1971 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Organic Grooves
An incredibly rare and sought after LP, The Universal Messengers issued this one powerful statement on wax and then disappeared into the ether. Released in 1971, and produced by Billy Guy of The Coasters fame, An Experience In The Blackness Of Sound is akin to the work of Gil Scott-Heron, and The Last Poets. Jazzy and percussive, with heavy lyrical content about life in post-MLK black America. An amazing LP that deserves its place amongst the likes of The Watts Prophets and The Last Poets, ya dig?
