incl. Funtion/Inland RemixAlex Coulton's productions are driving, abrasive techno workouts with a lo-end sensibility and abstract tendencies. It's a great honour to be able to serve up both these slabs on the Bloc platform.Post Sandwell District, Function has formed a new partnership in the spirit of unrelenting techno alongside Ed Davenport. Together as Function/Inland they have crafted an entire side of this EP into a rolling, forceful dance- floor assault.

incl. Beneath RemixApril sees Bristol bass don Facta drop his first release on Bloc with a storming double A-side, backed up with a remix from PAN and Berceuse Heroique affiliate Beneath.Facta is one of the most exciting artists to come out of Bristol in the past few years, with a string of high impact releases on seminal UK imprints Idle Hands, Tempa, Wisdom Teeth and Soundman Chronicles. And this latest 12 is no different. The EP kicks off with Alsatian, a deep technical bass workout that merges the UK template of airtight drum programming and the deepest of deep sub bass with a bump and roll that feels like classic electro… Watch out for the second drop, the subs are absolutely lethal.Beneath closes the A-side with a stripped back take on Alsatian that reduces the original down to its bare essentials of shimmering drums and rumbling sub bass. A seriously deep remix that is strictly for the bass heads. On the flip, Scotch Mist is cut from the same cloth as Alsatian, with expertly deployed junglist drum edits and some tasteful sample choices elevating the track into something really special. This has been on dubplate for nearly two years and we’re really proud to finally be putting it out.

JoeFarr presents Sense Of Purpose, the massively anticipated first full-length album from the pioneering Bristol producer.March sees Joe make a swift return to Bloc with his second consecutive release on the rapidly growing imprint following on from his debut ‘RPM’ EP released at the end of January this year.Joe is widely regarded as a skilled craftsman of electronic music, having flourished quickly since he first emerged in 2011 to become an identifiable name within the underground scene. In 5 short years he's built an impressive body of work, including recent productions on Leisure System, Turbo and Power Vacuum, which have secured him a reputation as one of our most forward thinking, innovative and inspiring musical talents.‘Sense Of Purpose’ delves deep into Farr’s creative core, exploring the many facets of his musical personality. Beautifully crafted synth workouts sit shoulder to shoulder with early Warp-style ambient works and a handful of the raucous techno bombs that he’s built his reputation on.Whichever sound he turns his hand to, the results are nothing less than extraordinary.
Joe Farr - RPM EP

Release:2016 / UK – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Farr has a diverse catalogue, with three well-received releases on Turbo as well as records with DSNT, Leisure System and Power Vacuum. Few producers can claim to have remixed Tiga and been remixed by Truss.Though Farr has an extensive history with Bloc., this will be his first outing on the label, a release that incorporates sounds that both Bloc and Joe are famed for.The first track, 'RPM' features prominently in the Bloc festival trailer and is the soundtrack to the 2016 weekender. Hissing high hats and an atmospheric baseline quickly develop into an explosive anthem designed to get feet moving. 'Rolling and Thatching' conveys an immediate punch of 90s acid, followed by techno heavy 'Workout Three' with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery worthy of the Berghain dance floor.
