Hyperdub will release an EP by Burial on December 16th 2013. Comprised of three new pieces with a total running time of 28 minutes, it will be available on 180g 12" vinyl, jewel-case CD, and digital download.

Featuring three new tracks pressed on high grade 180g vinyl for optimum sound reproduction, and running beyond 30 minutes, the ‘Kindred EP’ is an ambitious work that pushes further into the unique musical territory Burial occupies.

The sublime three-track EP 'Streetlands' is the follow up to 2022's 'antidawn'. The EP incorporates 35 minutes of transcendent music in three new pieces.

This single is a surprise to all and is the first new official solo material from the mysterious dubstep magnate since 2007.

`Antidawn' reduces Burial's music to just the vapours. The record explores an interzone between dislocated, patchwork songwriting and eerie, open-world game-space ambience. In the resulting no man's land, lyrics take precedence over song, lonely phrases colour the haze, a stark and fragmented structure makes time slow down. `Antidawn' seems to tell a story of a wintertime city, and something beckoning you to follow it into the night. The result is both comforting and disturbing, producing a quiet and uncanny glow against the cold. Sometimes, as it enters 'a bad place', it takes your breath away. And time just stops.

`Chemz' is hooky, rushy and loved-up - both an unhinged premonition of unleashed post-pandemic joy, and a demonic flashback to past ecstasies in a hardcore style perfected in the UK. `Chemz' is a 12 minute rave monster that has ingested several tracks and incorporated them into its distended body. At the other end of the Burial bi-polar spectrum, `Dolphinz' is a 9 minute desolate oceanic love letter to our underwater friends.

"Claustro" is another rolling dancefloor smasher, close to six minutes long and including the artist's hallmark wistful rapture. The flip comes up with the beautiful atmospheric over 8 minute long ambience that is "State Forest".

Hailing from Britain’s formerly industrial heartland of North Yorkshire, The Burial was a forward-facing ska-punk/Oi band with a strong Left orientation, channelling 2Tone, Northern Soul, punk, and folk influences. Rhythm guitarist Eric ‘Barney’ Barnes made sure the world knew these skinheads were antifascist and the use of a full horn section made their sole LP, A Day On The Town, stand out. Unlike the Redskins, who soon moved to the student circuit, The Burial remained embedded in the working class communities from whence they came; this fine, often overlooked LP will be devoured by all fans of ska-punk and Oi!.

A complete stylistic shift from his last two EPs, 'Rodent' marks an emphatic return to the dancefloor with a rolling four and a half minutes of the artist's hallmark wistful rapture, backed with a crackling 150bpm remix by Kode9.
