For Clandestino's fifth offering Berlin's Italiano in residence José Manuel drops his unique strain of exotic club music; once again exploring deep, ritualistic and tribal influences to great dramatic effect. 'Human Behaviour' is a woozy nine minute opus. Rich in atmospherics, chanting and ethnic flutes. Clandestino's remix refines the track for the dance-floor, retaining the atmosphere and injecting a driving 303 line and jamming Afro keys.Upping the tempo on 'Bangalore' a great ethnic guitar hook drives along the groove while disorienting chants and tribal percussion flutter underneath. Mushrooms Project turn out an essential blissful sundown version by extending out the pads and adding gentle warm keys

For our fourth we are pleased to welcome Russia's Denis Kolomensky to the Clandestino family. Denis is part of a collective of Moscovian DJ's, producers and promoters throwing interesting parties in the cities Simachev Shop & Bar and Dewar's Powerhouse venues. When Denis sent us his demo's, we knew they were a perfect fit for the Clandestino ethos. ‘Recovery' opens with a lively conga section, snappy snares and a classic Detroit-style drum sequence takes hold while emotive pads elevate. Man of the moment Felix Dickinson ramps up his remix and turns in a modern jack track by intensifying the bass, introducing firing drums and darker pads.‘Santa Monica' takes a slower pace; gentle sunset chords complement marimba hits and atmospheric key stabs. Balearic Gabba Sound System's stunning rework is an extended blissed out reinterpretation; adding a dreamy female vocal over heart wrenching synths

For their third release Clandestino step into the light themselves to present two original cuts. Here, shades of classic Chicago and Detroit complement a modern production aimed at discerning dance-floors. 'Another Horizon' has a heady late-eighties feel; ascending sunrise chords and gentle keys swell organically giving way to a burbling 303 line.
Coyote - Fight The Future EP
Fight The Future EP

Release:2016 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Coyote deliver a standalone EP for Clandestino's second release with the brooding, acidic "Fight The Future" and summery live jam "Engineered Garments". Fight The Future caters for a ride through the club. Tweaking 303's and bells weave their way round a dynamic 808 rhythm track while the dubbed out FX and melancholic spacey keys reign in the tension, eventually swelling and breaking over a subtle voice pad. Chida takes things into more late night territory; intensifying the driving groove as the 303's build over a crescendo of thunderous FX sublimely rooted by a deeply cool bass-line.On the flip side Engineered Garments has live drums and bass hung together with Cuban congas, beachside shakers and slaps & claps while African marimbas dance atop the poppy piano hook. The flecked electric guitar coupling with the pulsing lead and Linn drum hits gel into super crisp production perfect for balmy, outside dancing. Selvy goes for a stripped back rework; the drums and bass coming to the fore as the marimbas are brightened yet sparing allowing the leads to cut through and deliver a polished heads down but hands up dance-floor soaked workout.

Clandestino are a trio of Leeds based DJs who have been involved in the city's underground music scene for over 15 years; regularly throwing diverse parties and bringing exciting new DJ talent to town. Their visionary booking policy saw them invite Erol Alkan, Tim Sweeney, Simian Mobile Disco, Todd Terje, Optimo and Joakim to Leeds long before they became the established acts they are today. Their sound takes in influences from the glory days of Acid House, the melodic elements of Balearica and the energy of Disco while always being focused at the dance floor.
