We are deeply pleased to announce the birth of "Discos Quilombo" to share the latest news in reissued 7-inch vinyl records from Latin American beat bands!! Our hard work on music archaeology trying to find the most psychophasical sound in bands from Mexico, Peru and Bolivia has brought us here, to the creation of a specialised music label. We aim at sharing reissued and remastered hidden gems that deserve to be rescued. Los Chijuas will be our godfathers in this first reference. Mexican band from Chihuahua state who released “Están Cambiando Los Colores De La Vida” in 1968. A psychedelic pop pleasure which, together with its English version “Changing The Colors Of Life” on its B-side, will be on sale on February 23rd with just 500 hand numbered copies made with love.

The Engineers, Abas Miraftab and Reza Agah, recorded and produced this 7’ "Persian Girl" sometime in the late 60s or early 70s. The first edition was independently pressed outside of Iran and only a few copies exist today. Little else is known about the band's music or history.

This stereo recording by far is the best & strongest rhythmic Persian music ever recorded the power burned in the grooves is immense. Turn the volume up, it will make you feel happy to listen & dance to.

Four outtakes and demos recorded by Bolan in 1966. In 1981, backing instrumentals were recorded and added to Bolan's original recordings, supervised by his one-time manager Simon Napier-Bell.

Unreleased Glam/Proto Punk on the A-side, fuzzed out Syd Barrett-era Floyd style groover on the B-side. Sourced directly from the only known acetates and with Damon Lyon-Shaw’s very kind permission. These tunes from circa '73 and '70 respectively are seeing the light of day for the very first time. Restored and mastered by Danilo Silvestri (Giuda). Damon Lyon-Shaw has produced some of our all-time favorite records including The Factory “Path Through The Forest” single and Status Quo “On The Level” and “For You Blue” LPs. He is primarily known for his engineering work including The Who “Tommy”, Third World War “ii” and some of the prime 70s Status Quo albums. During downtime at the studio (I.B.C), Damon and his fellow engineers, whom were all musicians, would cut their own songs in between sessions. These tracks were only pressed to acetates and given to those who played on the sessions and their friends. Finding not one, but two of these acetates from the same time period is a miracle. Edition of 300 copies.

Shaghayegh was an Iranian rock band that emerged in the mid-1960s. They only released one EP, which was released under two different labels (Royal and Monogram), both versions rare as hell and go try find one. and their original vinyl records are some real highly rarity. Only four tracks are known to exist from the band, and they were printed on two different labels at the time.

Now it’s reissued thanks to the mighty Juzz label out of Tehran, bringing their garage-beat particular sound to a new life, in a well-cared production, limited to 500 copies in grey vinyl and beautiful cover.

Finnaly we got it, after a long time waiting we were able to reissue this 1969 killer 7" of The Blue Condition, from Waukegan, Illinois. The original wax is a most wanted and a mega rare gem searched by garage punk collectors from all over the world. With "Coming Home" as the main track, a garage punk/freakbeat killer stomper. Fuelled with fuzz and groove. The record come with 2 postcards, linernotes and interview with the band members.

Stone Axe emerged from the ashes of Josefus in 1971. Jerry Ontiberoz, Pete Bailey, Ray Turner along with guitarist Mike Long formed the lineup that recorded probably which is the holy grail of 70s heavy rock/proto-metal singles.

Slave of Fear/Snakebite is the only recording they made in the band´s short live and this is the first ever reissue, which now includes a kickass cover art and insert with the story of the band plus lyrics and unpublished pictures. The tracks have been remastered, getting a clear sound but with all their power and heaviness. We also have tried to respect the original and iconic Rampart Street Records orange label. For fans of Josefus and obscure 70s proto-metal, this is history of USA and Texas hard rock, a totally must have.

Peanut Rubble was a power trio from Buckinhamshire, a rural area a few miles northwest of London. This Radio Luxembourg Studios recordings were made back in 1968, being an early sample of british heavy music one year before Led Zeppelin released their first album. They used to play in college/university circuit, airbases and youth clubs with 100w Marshall stacks, being too loud for some of those clubs. They supported bands such as Status Quo, The Pretty Things, Arthur Brown or Pink Floyd. The single contains three remastered songs of pure loud heavy blues, with a smooth drum playing and a thick fuzzy sound, being now released for the first time. It includes an insert with the story of the band.

Jojo Hiroshige’s famed Alchemy Records is well known for releasing some of the most loved Japanoise releases from the likes of Hijokaidan, Merzbow and Masonna. The label also showcased some of the most exciting music coming out of the Kansai region from artists who didn’t necessarily fit in with its notorious noise. Osaka band Angel’in Heavy Syrup were a four member female group whose psychedelic impulses twisted and turned through luscious space rock and heavy distortion. This limited edition 7 inch release from P-vine features two covers of the legendary psych-folk songwriter Doji Morita - a perfect pairing of Japanese melancholy and experimental fuzz.

These sides are prototypical for the "Sounds Like Santana" genre coined at the Friends of Sound record store in Austin, TX years ago. Heavy Latin Rock fusion on these tracks, with just a pinch of Jazz thrown in for good measure. "Evil Deeds" starts right into it the moment the needle hits the groove on your turntable - heavy organ, percussion, shakers, and guitar all greet your ears. Moving into the track you get the typical shredding guitar solo, organ solo, and a sax solo, for good measure. "Time and Space" starts with a nod to the classic Dave Brubeck "Take Five" and continues on an adventure into a more psychedelic groove and more of a Rock vibe. Time changes and tempo shifts and big solos round out the side.

We could summarize the obscure 70s underground heavy rock in just two words: Iron Claw. This guys from Scotland made the most powerful heavy rock from the underground that no one have ever heard. Impressed after attending to early Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath live shows, they decided to play their own heavy rock songs, not without first having played the repertoire of these bands, being the first band to cover Black Sabbath and playing live their whole first album back in 1970, before it was even published! After the release of their album in 2009, nowadays they have the acknowledgement that they did not had back in the 70s, and it is deserved. Some of their recordings were not included on the LP and this is the time for releasing them. This single contains two dirty and heavy songs titled Take Me To Your Leader and Lady Whisky from 1970 and 1971 respectively, that deserved to be released and Iron Claw fans will appreciate. The issue includes a postcard/picture of the band.

Türküola releases maybe the most outstanding piece of Cem Karaca & Apaşlar in their adventure in Germany. Cem Karaca was a new born Anatolian Pop star from rock’n’roll roots and Apaşlar was a surf band when they united in 1967. In the end of 1967 they toured Germany and began to record with Ferdy Klein Orchestra (which was a version of Werner Müller Orchestra) between 1968-1969. “Gılgamış-Ayrılık Günümüz” is one of the singles recorded as a cooperation between the band and the “big band” . Therefore the A side of the single “Ayrılık Günümüz” (Our Day of Departi reflect this cooperation between Werner Müller Orchestra and CK & Apaşlar with a feeling of mod scene, a rock ballad with polyphonic arrangements. On the other hand the flip side of the single gives out the band’s own groove and performance with the instrumental psychedelic rock peace “Gılgamış” (Gilgamesh). Gılgamış is inspired by the Epic of Gılgamesh and the band plays a powerful groove with a Mesopotamian mood and riffs. The Apaşlar line-up playing in this piece was Mehmet Soyarslan (electric guitar), Seyhan Karabay (bass), and Leon Habib (drums). Beginning with Seyhan Karabay’s solid bass riffs which is followed by drums of Leon Habib serving an energetic groove; Soyarslan plays his Epiphone guitar with psychedelic effects which sometimes take the main theme to a micro tonal scale. Today we have the opportunity to hold this unique piece in compliance with the authentic cover coated with gelatine and its vinyl produced from the master tapes. Thanks to Türküola for this generous reissue for the collectors of Turkish psychedelia.

‘O’Seis’ are the core members of the mighty and legendary ‘Os Mutantes’ – namely Rita Lee and brothers Arnaldo and Sérgio Baptista, accompanied here by Raphael Vilardi, Maria ‘Mogguy’ Malheiros and Luiz Pastura. The record features anthemic, heavyweight, psychedelic rock on ‘Suicida’ b/w deeper, tripped-out MPB-folk on ‘Apocalipse’. Both tracks were written by Rita Lee, assisted by Tobe and Vilardi respectively. The term ‘holy grail’ is a little overused these days perhaps, but this definitely is one. Originally pressed and released by the band themselves in 1966, apparently only a handful of copies are known to exist (sources/numbers vary). The record has changed hands for up to a staggering $5000! Ouch.

Legendary garage punk recorded in the mid '80s and pressed in the mid '90s. A true classic that finally gets released after more than 30 years. A handful of promo copies got into circulation at the time and are considered a holy grail to collectors. The flipside 'Rainy Days' is a previously unheard track which could easily be mistaken for The Seeds. Real '60s style garage punk at its very best.

We’re doing a deeper dive into fave Lobby LOYDE’s oveure. “Do You Believe In Magic” is obviously not the famous hit by The Lovin’ Spoonful. It is a Lobby original and was in fact one of the earliest Coloured Balls tunes dating from early ‘72. The ‘Balls never ended up recording it. A few months after their split in early ‘75, Lobby recorded it with him on lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, Jimmy Thompson (ex- Vince Maloney Sect, Tony Worley & The Blue Jays and Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs on drums, plus Paul Dixson on sax. This single was issued in December 1975 on the Bootleg label and has never been reissued before. It is an honor and pleasure to keep Lobby’s music alive. Edition of 400 copies on black vinyl.

Hypnotic organ-fueled psych-pop from Argentina 1970, now having a new life thanks to Madmua Records. As usual, 500 copies that are instantly sold out at source (we have 50 copies available only now). Nice new cover artwork (original came in plain generic cover), with insert and two postcards.

First ever band-sanctioned reissue of this legendary ‘Pebbles’ garage-psych 45 from 1967. William Penn Fyve aka William Penn & His Pals were a regular presence on the early Bay Area scene, opening for the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Paul Revere & the Raiders and Them. Their line–up included lead singer / organist Gregg Rolie, later of Santana / Journey. In 1966 they recorded their lone single, "Swami" / “Blow My Mind”, for the Thunderbird label. The A-side (written by guitar player Mike Shapiro and famous for being included on “Pebbles-The Acid Gallery”) is early acid-punk with fuzzed-out raga guitars and hilarious lyrics about a guru. The flipside is an energetic garage-punk number with swirling Vox organ and a fuzz rave up á la Yardbirds.

This rough and tough absolute Junkshop Glam grail has never been officially reissued on vinyl since it was originally released in 1974. We're here to remedy that. This was GUMBO's one and only release. Edition of 300 copies.

One of our all-time fave Junkshop Glam jamz, A Raincoat “It Came In Night. Unique B-side on our reissue "Vote For Me" is far superior to the original b-side "Morocco". Bang for the buck, people! A Raincoat was a studio creation from Andy Arthurs of “Listen To My Brain” fame. "It Came In The Night" was also famously used (twice!) in Kenneth Anger's short film, Rabbit's Moon (1979 version). To us, this has always sounded like prime era Giorgio Moroder producing a Halloween record for Sparks, but with much better vocals. This is the first time this single has been available since 1976. Edition of 300 copies.

In 1970, famous Spanish duo Manolo y Ramón, known as El Dúo Dinámico since the early 60s, changed musical direction and name and recorded a full album in London in a cool pop-psych style. Using a dream team of session musicians (Jimmy Page, Ian Anderson, Billy Preston…) and arrangers connected to George Martin, the duo laid down 13 tracks of which “Lágrimas Sonrisas” backed with “Adiós, Adiós, Goodbye” were selected for a 45 release. It went unnoticed at the time but now “Lágrimas, Sonrisas” is mod psych anthem, full of powerful vocals, Hammond splashes, female chorus…highly sought after by DJs and collectors, here’s a deluxe legit reissue limited to 500 copies (not to be repressed). Includes postcard and insert with liner notes in Spanish by Vicente Fabuel.

One of three cover 7" titles by Kotaro Furuichi, who has been actively working as a solo artist and actor in addition to being the guitarist of THE Collectors. "Yotte Sourou" by George Yanagi & Rainy Wood, released in 1978, coupling with "Kinpouge" by Kai Band, released in 1977.

Unreleased recordings from 1978-1979 and the first release from the “Mean Disposition-Greg ‘Stackhouse’ Prevost Vintage Series”, featuring the first and original Chesterfield Kings line-up. The A Side, a cover of Harbinger Complex’s, is a demo recorded at the old WCMF Studios from 1978. The flip, Them’s “I Can Only Give You Everything”, was recorded at New Math’s studio in 1979

LOS Cirros are one of the most obscure Spanish rock bands from the late 60s. Coming out of a tiny village in one of the smallest provinces of the country sure helped them being fully ignored, but how cool those guys proved to be when discovered in compilations such as “Viñedos” or “Pentecostés Vibrations”!!! They released two seven inches (1969 and 1970), both very very rare and featuring pretty cool songs in a blend of garage, light psychedelia and pop. Now, these two 45s are reissued (marketed together, not to be sold separately!), including an unreleased bonus track and with the usual attention to detail of the Madmua label, with the addition of an insert and two postcards. Limited to 500 copies.

Available again for the first time in 51 years. This banger has been in our DJ box for many years. First issued by our all-time favorite label, President Records in 1972, this was Things Fall APART's one and only release. Contrary to speculation, The Equals nor Eddy Grant had anything to do with this record despite it sounding very much like The Equals circa "Stand Up And Be Counted." Both songs were written and sang by Ralph ADU. Mind the fuzz! Remastered by Sean M. LENNONstraight from the original master tapes from the President Records archive. Edition of 200 copies on black vinyl.

The Polydor label released a few singles in the late 1960s that became very obscure and unknown, even to researchers. Most of these 7 inches are super psychedelic and very creative, but totally anti commercial. Own compositions, recordings and good productions, always with a top team. These works were not promoted or publicized by the label and very few copies circulated at the time. The impression is that the intention was to freeze or disappear with the artist in question. Vermelho is one of them, a work that is little talked about or known but that always attracts the attention of those who have access to these two tracks. Arrangement by Rogério Duprat, who was proud to have participated in these recordings, with Rafael Moreno on bass, Alberto Niccoli Junior on drums, Bolão on Sax and Marcos Ficarelli, the “Vermelho” on guitar and vocals.

Marcos already knew well the ways of recording and producing an album, having participated in historical groups of Brazilian rock in the 60's such as Top Sounds, Código 90 and Loupha, to name a few. At this stage, he had already acquired good knowledge of recording and studio management. Excerpts such as “And in the hole of the corners, to look for, is what I try in vain” presents the listener with the mood of the dark times of that time, and today seems a premonition about the difficulty of finding this single, even in private collections.

“Parabéns Meu Bem” and “Gira-Gira” are tracks with an advanced rhythm for the time. Drums very well marked, with an original take and very close to North American funk. The bass is consistent and strong and the guitar full of effects and very reminiscent of the sound and energy of Jimi Hendrix, Santana and Blood Sweat & Tears. There is yet another musical layer created by Duprat, who managed to insert a mini orchestra along with the sound mass created by “Banda do Vermelho”.

Great privately released garage rock / hard rock single issued under the band name ‘4 Faces’. The brainchild of Finish musician Johnny Burner who got together with Hanoi Rocks Andy McCoy and Michael Monroe, (and glam rocker Adam Bomb), for a session that produced this undiscovered gem.

Bscbr is a group of Black Sabbath lovers hailing from New York City. The group consists of Brad Truax (interpol), Mick Barr (ocrilim, Krallice), Greg FOX (liturgy, EX Eye), Nick Zinner (yeah Yeah YeahS), and Angel Deradoorian (dirty Projectors, Deradoorian). After a music residency in Berlin where Zinner, Deradoorian, and Fox met up, the first formation of the band was created. Zinner had the idea of bringing the music to NYC (when Truax and Barr joined) where the band received immediate attention and sold out their first concert. It was surprising for everyone, but they just kept on playing, and the people kept on showing up. It's been one of their favorite bands to play in ever. The love of Sabbath has brought so much joy to this group and there's no greater feeling than spreading that joy to fellow fans.
