Soft Boi - So Nice

So Nice
LP | 2020 | EU | Original (Climate Of Fear)
21,99 €*
Release:2020 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
For its second release, Climate of Fear proudly presents “So Nice,” the debut LP from Soft Boi aka Pessimist aka Kristian Jabs. Following 2019’s sludge-crawl collab with Karim Maas and the eco-hellscape new age of Boreal Massif’s “We All Have An Impact,” Jabs turns his attention to a new nightmare: dating. “So Nice” dials back the suffocating d’n’b bass weight. Jabs has perfected, opting instead for a shimmering palette of magenta hued synth leads and chunky Rhythm Nation snare cracks. Across this languid backdrop, Jabs narrates the inner monologue of his Soft Boi counterpart. By turns cheeky, seething and emotive, his terse lyrics dissect modern masculinity with unflinching control. Hours blearily wasted on dating apps, spiraling arguments and circular obsessions, the clammy loneliness of self-obsession and the rigid fury of objectification all spread out across the album like an oil spill.

Tape | 2020 | EU | Original (Climate Of Fear)
11,99 €*
Release:2020 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Climate of Fear follows up Soft Boi’s debut LP with a mammoth drop: 12 tapes ripped straight from the first two years of Berlin parties. Released one per month, the series moves from Izabel’s shivering chug through Nkisi’s deadly anarcho-gabber psychedelia, Polar Inertia’s sleek techno throb and DJ Python & Mad Miran’s impromptu closing b2b. Relaxer tosses his hat in the ring for Climate's fifth installment with a mini-album of studio works. "Hedonic Fatigue" opens with the delirious 20 minute "Fatigue Suite," a white knuckle slow dive that will leave you gasping. Rippers "Upstairs & Inside" and "Strictly II" are counterbalanced with the languid "World Pulse" and misty "Jim's Day." Come sway in the breeze, right on the edge of violence. Out Dec 2020.

For the fourth installment in its twelve month tape series, Climate of Fear brings out a scorcher from the one & only Bruce. Recorded in the fall of 2019, the set shows the UK artist in unflinching form, weaving strains of UK club music with the effortless grace and power that has made him a household name. No genre is safe in Bruce's hands. Plug in your sub. Out November 2020.

Berlin / NY collective Climate of Fear releases its debut EP, “Laika’s Revenge” by TNC6 – two tracks of sorrowful and menacing technoid expansions. Side A’s “Escape Pod” shimmers like a mirage on a desert landscape, nearly evaporating in the heat; on Side B the title track is five minutes of roiling thunderstorm ferocity. Following his breakout 2018 lp “Sekundenschlaf” on Blackest Ever Black, “Laika’s Revenge” expands on the artist’s fevered vision of the dance.
