he year is 1999 and The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo) are working on a new track for Wu Tang Clan Member, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s new album. The track in question, “Got Your Money”, was an unexpectedly poppy, upbeat and melodic track that would go on to have global success. Buried within the multi-track recordings of the ODB’s hit track is an acapella by Pharrell, recorded early in the tracks production. Bringing his own laid-back style and flow, but keeping to the narrative of ODB’s track, Pharrell delivers a secret version of the track, few will have heard. Alloy Cuts delivers two versions of Pharrell’s hidden bars, mashing up one side with Montel Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”, giving the track a more golden era sound and on the flip side the classic ragga riddim, the “Snake Riddim”, is used to great effect!

Booty Haul has been honing his Hip Hop craft since the late 1980’s, perfecting the 12bit “Boom Bap” sound over decades and amassing all the tools of the trade in that time. More known for his house and techno (under different names), Booty Haul digs deep into his floppy disks to pull out some of his choice cuts for Alloy Cuts.
AC 001 sees Mr Haul refreshing the iconic “MVP” acapella from Big L, one of the most auspicious storytellers in hip hop history. The outcome is a more funked up, party focused slap of hip hop goodness

Two of the biggest names in the game join forces & the results do not disappoint!Straight out of Le Havre, Djar One's beat-heavy productions have been demanding attention on dancefloors and radio stations worldwide via his Beats House imprint. We couldn't be more delighted to have him on board the good ship Soul Flip for our eleventh 45 release. First up for the Djar One treatment is Mary Wells' Northern-leaning stomper, "Can't You See (You're Losing Me)". I'm talkin' about Beatmasters, but not the late 80s crew that saw collaborations with the Cookie Crew etc, I'm talking about the legendary Bristol beatmaster Boca 45 who has mastered, honed and polished his creative techniques and his distillation of beat making over the last 25+ years. Born out of hip hop and rooted firmly in the Bristol scene of Massive, Wild Bunch, and Portishead, Boca 45 aka Scott Hendy has successfully navigated an ever changing musical landscape with an unwavering connection and honest adherence to those very roots and ethics. It's what makes Bristol such a special place for art of all forms in the city, a DIY, earthy and passionate sound and vision that runs through all the artists that call Bristol home. And so it continues with Boca's only 45 release this year in ‘22. It’s strictly Limited to 300 copies on High Quality Yellow wax with each copy stamped & numbered. On this Bomb Donut he teams up with NYC Native Tongue OG Bam of The Jungle Brothers on hype vocals duties for 2 dancefloor burners. Barn Breaks vol Iii', presented by Owlvaro & Hugu, is the latest installment of oddball samples and loops from your favorite globe-trotting Texan trio, and is perfect for ant portablist scratch jam or 7" DJ set... The latest in the series, this "skipless" 7" contains scratch samples from "Mordechai" - band hits, isolated basslines & vocals, guitar notes, keyboard stabs and drum loops - as well as custom "ahhhh" & "fressshh" sounds. Do you know? Here we go!

Tones 1.0 is a record specifically made for the purpose of melodic scratching, although it is not limited to just that; it can be also used as a production tool. Think of Tones 1.0 as a synthesized toolkit that blurs the lines between live performance and production.

Side A consists of 8 locked modulating tones (4 bass tones and 4 lead tones) that have been recorded from various analog synthesizers. They were recorded live while manipulating cut-off frequencies, resonance and LFOs to a click track at 133.33 BPM. This gives the tones extra rich sonics and more depth while being scratched. Each bass tone is recorded at middle C (c3) while each lead tone has been recorded an octave higher (c4).

Side B consists of musical phrases, chords, drums and skip-proof atonal scratch sounds, all of which have been recorded at 133.33 BPM.

You’ll find a rich tapestry of ideas to choose from ranging from funk basslines/chords and licks, soul chords and licks, drums and atonal scratch sounds. Major and minor 7th chords follow the circle of 5ths so that they are all relative to each other, perfect for creating music quickly. Once you’ve created a beat/sketch you can then jump to the skip-proof atonal scratch sounds and solo over the top. Enjoy.

When Beatsqueeze offered Onra the opportunity to release a 7-inch with them, he instantly thought he should make the most out of the many chinese samples he had saved for his Chinoiseries project. This record includes many unused samples, drum breaks, sounds and other various samples on side-A and side-B is a proper DJ-tool (skipproof) made to scratch with. Make your own Chinoiseries beat and then scratch on top of it!
