he year is 1999 and The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo) are working on a new track for Wu Tang Clan Member, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s new album. The track in question, “Got Your Money”, was an unexpectedly poppy, upbeat and melodic track that would go on to have global success. Buried within the multi-track recordings of the ODB’s hit track is an acapella by Pharrell, recorded early in the tracks production. Bringing his own laid-back style and flow, but keeping to the narrative of ODB’s track, Pharrell delivers a secret version of the track, few will have heard. Alloy Cuts delivers two versions of Pharrell’s hidden bars, mashing up one side with Montel Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”, giving the track a more golden era sound and on the flip side the classic ragga riddim, the “Snake Riddim”, is used to great effect!

The legendary Death Breaks makes a welcome return with 2 more classic B-Boy tunes with heavy funky disco breakbeats, cut up and sampled by the greats. First time on 45 for both tracks - doubles are a must for DJs!

The master in scratch Dj T-Kut together Dj Yamal and Cut Sound Brothers have cooked this new battle vinyl ready to be to squeezed to the maximum, “Scratch Practice”. Composed by 6 instrumental tracks and 8 tracks tools, each track is inspired in the classic tracks of the turntable worldwide that converts this record an indispensable piece for the fanatics. The cover is an art of the well-known graffiti artist Mast. Masterized in 126 Productions House. All tracks signed by Dj T-kut. This 2019 comes with a new limited version presented in orange colour to enjoy in both ways of this wonderful LP.

Booty Haul has been honing his Hip Hop craft since the late 1980’s, perfecting the 12bit “Boom Bap” sound over decades and amassing all the tools of the trade in that time. More known for his house and techno (under different names), Booty Haul digs deep into his floppy disks to pull out some of his choice cuts for Alloy Cuts.
AC 001 sees Mr Haul refreshing the iconic “MVP” acapella from Big L, one of the most auspicious storytellers in hip hop history. The outcome is a more funked up, party focused slap of hip hop goodness

Booty Haul returns to Alloy Cuts with more of his Boom Bap goodness. Blending multiple choice samples and breaks, most notably the Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long”, to create a hip hop instrumental that sounds like it was forged in a NYC basement in the mid-90s. This time Mr Haul draws for a ragga acapella on the A Side, clashing with the Canadian Dancehall Queen “Carla Marshall” and her 1990 hit “Champion”.

Two of the biggest names in the game join forces & the results do not disappoint!Straight out of Le Havre, Djar One's beat-heavy productions have been demanding attention on dancefloors and radio stations worldwide via his Beats House imprint. We couldn't be more delighted to have him on board the good ship Soul Flip for our eleventh 45 release. First up for the Djar One treatment is Mary Wells' Northern-leaning stomper, "Can't You See (You're Losing Me)". Already a dancefloor bomb, Djar One ramps up the energy still further to devastating effect. Soul Flip Edits #14 is surely worth the wait! A different kind of vintage Soul to what you might have come to expect, as the Soul Flip duo deconstruct then lovingly reconstruct The Jam's unreleased but genuinely brilliant early recording(s) of, "A Solid Bond In Your Heart" - a song that was later a hit for The Style Council.

Back to Soul Flip basics on the flip, where The Capitols' more traditionally vintage 1966 R&B stomper "Cool Jerk" gets broken down, stretched out, and freshened up for more modern dance floors. Early support from Craig Charles, The Allergies, Smoove & Hong Kong Ping Pong Club.

The 6th installment of the world-renowned classic scratch tool series, Zarecord 3 7” takes the vocals from it's 12” parent-project and remixes them with portable turntable users in mind. Nmcp's avant-garde instrumental beats have long been a driving force behind the worldwide scratch scene, with their chest-rattling Polyvox basslines, stripped down elemental funk, and infectious drum patterns providing the framework for battles, performances and friendly meet-ups since the first Zalooper dropped back in 2013. The link between Nmcp and Cut & Paste Records was established through the shared passion for cutting records to disc on mastering lathes, and cutting sounds up on turntables. Since then, we've toured and performed together in the UK, Germany, Belarus and their native Russia, constantly researching ways to develop the vinyl record as a musical performance tool. Zarecord 1 and 2 brought raw attitude and fresh sound palettes with their skipless vocal samples, and re-imagined what a scratch record could offer by including full-length instrumentals instead of the more “traditional” sparse beat loops lifted from other records. With Zarecord 3, the concept is flipped once more with the Nmcp crew delving into their archives and supplying original parts of some of their classic beats in a pioneering format. Both sides of Zarecord 3 7” are packed with vocal samples, arranged in a way to make it easy to find the right sound, with longer sounds on the outside, and the loops packing more syllables as you progress to the center of the record. On the end of both sides there are 2 lock grooves – an infinite drum loop which can be used to cut with or simply as a break to practice to, and an infinite Shepherd Tone that seems to endlessly drop or rise in pitch. This record is dedicated to the memory of the artist who created the iconic imagery for the Zarecord series: 8D. The cover for Zarecord 3 was originally a painting by 8D, and we worked closely with him to adapt the piece into a record sleeve design carrying all the mystery and magic of the original. The Spot-Gloss finish makes the cover art jump right out and appears to change with the light.

Taking the ‘Scratch Nerd’ vs ‘Disc Jock’ theme, both Jocks and Nerds trade humorous scratch-tastic insults providing a 7” jam packed with dope scratch phrases for your portablist sessions or battles!

I'm talkin' about Beatmasters, but not the late 80s crew that saw collaborations with the Cookie Crew etc, I'm talking about the legendary Bristol beatmaster Boca 45 who has mastered, honed and polished his creative techniques and his distillation of beat making over the last 25+ years. Born out of hip hop and rooted firmly in the Bristol scene of Massive, Wild Bunch, and Portishead, Boca 45 aka Scott Hendy has successfully navigated an ever changing musical landscape with an unwavering connection and honest adherence to those very roots and ethics. It's what makes Bristol such a special place for art of all forms in the city, a DIY, earthy and passionate sound and vision that runs through all the artists that call Bristol home. And so it continues with Boca's only 45 release this year in ‘22. It’s strictly Limited to 300 copies on High Quality Yellow wax with each copy stamped & numbered. On this Bomb Donut he teams up with NYC Native Tongue OG Bam of The Jungle Brothers on hype vocals duties for 2 dancefloor burners. The A side '(Do It) Fluid' goes straight for the jugular with an immediate phat rubbery bassline that precedes a beat that charges and swings between 4 to the floor and wild breaks. Everything else within the track is supporting that drum & bass, heaping bucket loads of flavour into the mix. And to make it even more tasty, the arrangement is a clear 'DJs Choice', eminently cut-able, mixable, and double up-able! The intention of this (and the flip) is most definitely to stick 'nasty faces' on everyone on the dancefloor. So if you weren't already bleeding from a torn jugular from the A side, then the B side is going to do some serious damage to what is left of your vascular system. Picking up the tempo with a heavy-duty breakbeat that drives ever forward, 'Another Dimension' is peppered with fuzzed up riffs, Bam's hype vocals, and spacy flourishes. The result is a blistering dancefloor nugget heavily laden with urgency and vigour that DJs, dancers and breakdancers alike will be seriously wigging and poppin' out to. Ultimately these are classic Boca productions, full of the energy and verve we all know and love, honest, funky, raw, they have it all. Both tracks are a step up from cut-and-paste, yet that ethic is loud and proud throughout (and has been a trademark of Boca's beats over the years). The Scratch Sounds series is a resource for the musically minded turntablist practitioner.

My aim with this series is to produce a coherent set of original recordings with vocalists and instrumentalists, designed specifically for the scratch musician.

Taking inspiration from the library music catalogues of the 1960’s and 70’s, each record is themed in style or mood. By building a library of Scratch Sounds the creative process becomes streamlined, enabling you to select the record most fitting to your project or jam.



For each instrument I have provided a combination of skip-proof loops, chords, riffs and licks. This is to ensure that the format isn’t overly prescriptive and allows for a variety of playing styles and approaches. I recorded separate takes for each tempo so each side has a distinct set of sounds. One of the most rewarding elements of turntablism is sample discovery, for this reason i made sure there was ample material for your digging pleasure.



It is my belief that with the correct tools and mindset we can further strengthen the legitimacy of the turntable as a musical instrument.

What makes this record special is that all of the lock-groove beats are in sync with each other, enabling the user to jump from one track to another without even using headphones. Following the beats is a selection of classic Nmcp bass sounds, synth tones, instruments, and lock grooves. This record is dedicated to the memory of the artist who created the iconic imagery for the Zarecord series: 8D. Tones 1.0 is a record specifically made for the purpose of melodic scratching, although it is not limited to just that; it can be also used as a production tool. Think of Tones 1.0 as a synthesized toolkit that blurs the lines between live performance and production.

Side A consists of 8 locked modulating tones (4 bass tones and 4 lead tones) that have been recorded from various analog synthesizers. They were recorded live while manipulating cut-off frequencies, resonance and LFOs to a click track at 133.33 BPM. This gives the tones extra rich sonics and more depth while being scratched. Each bass tone is recorded at middle C (c3) while each lead tone has been recorded an octave higher (c4).

Side B consists of musical phrases, chords, drums and skip-proof atonal scratch sounds, all of which have been recorded at 133.33 BPM.

You’ll find a rich tapestry of ideas to choose from ranging from funk basslines/chords and licks, soul chords and licks, drums and atonal scratch sounds. Modusoperandi are Redmist, D. Perez, FSO & Gozt hailing from Chile. “Phonosophy” is a collection of instrumental loops, samples, tones and drums arranged on 12” vinyl for turntablist performance.

Released as the cornerstone of the S-WORD Chilean Community Skratch Music Tour, this library of sonic textures will provide the raw ingredients for Modusoperandi's forthcoming all-scratched jazz album. On top of that, the record will be given a thorough test-ride during the tour by the band and their fellow vinyl-abusing travelling companions: The Skratchlords, Cut & Paste Records, and the S-WORD Ensamble.

Side A starts with vocal samples arranged at 83.33 BPM: 6 skipless vocal loops selected for their raw swing and overflowing flavour, followed by a series of skipless drum loops with a wide range of timbres and atmospheres. They have been engineered to deliver the punch that stands out in a live performance and a studio setting. The slower tempo ensures comfortable spacing of the individual sounds for scratch-drumming.

The following 3 tracks of mixed drum breaks and percussive rhythms are arranged at 133.33 BPM, and each sample is arranged so it starts at the same point as the record rotates to facilitate cueing.

Next up are sections following the same principal but with wind, vocal, synth and drum samples, with 3 additional sample banks used by Modusoperandi to perform their set in Galway at the Community Skratch Games in April 2019. At the end of the A side you’ll find a skipless drum loop and 5 independent synth tones, all perfect locked grooves cut by a master vinyl-engineer, Pete Norman.

Side B is arranged at 133.33 BPM and starts off with ultrapitch vocals; some re-versioned loops from the flipside, and some fresh material to get busy with. If it's a hard-hitting scratch weapon you want or an ear-catching hook, just throw your needle to the outer part of the record and you'll catch some deadly grooves! The rest of this side is arranged in sections based on instrument type: wind instruments, strings, keys and bass. With treasures hidden throughout this release, you can keep your imagination spinning under a stylus using this magnificently crafted record.

Noka and M_Cue are better known under their collaborative moniker NMCP Studio. Based in Tver City, Russia, their skills and knowledge of making records is well known in underground circles, especially in Russia and Eastern Europe, as they work tirelessly cutting dubplates for local bands and producers on their hand-made record cutting lathe which they made themselves.
Having joined the Cut & Paste crew for 2017's Scratchblast UK tour, and introduced a unique slowed down style of dirty funk that contrasts the often sterile-sounding beats production around the scratch scene, NMCP have delivered another solid 12” scratch tool that is as full of original content as it is battle-ready.
Easy to use by beginners and veterans alike, and full of excellent disses, taunts, bragging lines and very scratchable crash and lazer noises, Zarecord 2 is one of those records that can just sit on the platter for an entire show and provide all of the material needed to melt audiences’ minds, or an opponents will to battle....
The 2 untitled beats are slow and funky, with an ominous feeling throughout as NMCP combine old school samplers and synths against an apocalyptic backdrop, bringing the ethos of 90's hip hop production to the half-speed tempos normally associated with dubstep and trap. Make no mistake these beats don't sound like anything else... they sit firmly in the niche that Noka and M_Cue have carved out themselves, which can be traced back through their series of practice loopers going by the name Zalooper 1,2,3 and 4.
The original artwork of Zarecord was made out of chopped up Russian Rubles by artist 8D, and has been incorporated into a collage by another artist by the name of 610C6317.

Cut & Paste Records present the first scratch record from renowned UK beatmaker Simiah.

Simiah has an impressive selection of releases under his belt already, and has worked tirelessly for years to create his own world of deep, soulful instrumental Hip Hop. His style is based around dusty jazz and latin sounds, reinforced by chasmic bass and swung percussion played with effortless skill on the MPC.

The Alchemy Files represents Simiah's first (but long-overdue) foray into scratch records. He put together 4 beats on Side A that would stand out on their own as an EP, but left enough space in each of them to allow for some freestyle instrumentation if the moment calls for it.

That's where Side B comes in... raw audio from Simiah's MPC was given to Symatic from Cut & Paste to arrange into skip-proof scratch tools – drums, bass, horns, keys and more, all arranged for ease of use by a DJ to compliment the tracks on the flipside, or to become entirely new compositions of their own.

Also included are some of Cut & Paste's trademark skip-proof vocal samples, for any DJ wanting to stand out with original style and cuts. They're all arranged at the same BPM with the instrumental samples, at 83.33 BPM. This tempo was chosen as it is a close match to the type of beats featured on Side A, and works well for regular turntables with +/- 8% pich. (Many of our other records are specifically aimed at users of turntables with Ultrapitch of +/- 50%).

Another feature of the skip-proof side is that the sounds are configured in loops with 5 beats per rotation, like a 5-point star or a pentagon. When scratching over regular 4/4 beats, this can lead to some interesting results as the irregular patterns are manipulated into new sequences.

There are also 2 Lock-grooves at the end of Side B, with tones designed to be played with the pitch adjustment on a turntable. Both tones are played in the same key for ease of use when switching between them.
