Odd Nosdam - Plan 9...Meat Your Hypnotis Cassette Store Day 2019 Edition
Odd Nosdam
Plan 9...Meat Your Hypnotis Cassette Store Day 2019 Edition
Tape | 2019 | US | Original (Dome Of Doom)
11,99 €*
Release:2019 / US – Original
Genre:Hip Hop
The genesis of the Anticon sound has been well documented over the years and an important foundation point is finding the excavation treatment in 2019. Odd Nosdam's debut cassette release Plan 9... Meat Your Hypnotis. is scheduled for a 20th-anniversary reissue on tape and digital formats August 16, 2019 with Dome of Doom, updated with unreleased works and an alternate track listing. Originally self-released in 1999 on cassette and issued across CD and 2LP in 2001, Plan 9... Meat Your Hypnotis. impacted 21st-century experimental music and laid the groundwork for the rise of cLOUDDEAD, Nosdam and Why?'s Reaching Quiet project, and Anticon Records. Utilizing the Dr. Sample 202 and an 8 track tape machine, the album has long been out of print and the reissue reproduces the artwork from the original 1999 cassette version. 20 years later and Plan 9... Meat Your Hypnotis. is still as era-defining and emotionally impactful as it was in the first years of its release. A handful of beats from Plan 9... Meat Your Hypnotis. can be heard on cLOUDDEAD's self-titled debut, melding Nosdam's love for shoegaze, ambient, and indie rock with an experimental style of hip-hop that's still all his own. The amount of sounds and layers from beginning to end is staggering, carving out an ambitious undertaking when Nosdam constructed and stitched all the pieces together over the course of a year. Lo-fi hip-hop beat tapes were unheard of in the late '90s and Plan 9... Meat Your Hypnotis. charted new paths in this realm. Keeping the conceptual approach simple, Nosdam would find his sound through scores of sketches, finished pieces, and everything in between.

19,99 €*
Release:2019 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
2019 has been a propulsive year for Pomona singer-songwriter Lealani, presenting her debut album Fantastic Planet with a powerful and magnetic response. Releasing the experimental synth-pop album with Dome of Doom on cassette and digital platforms January 18th, a vinyl version is slated for release on the 26th of July. With a limited run of 500 clear red prints, a handful of copies will be available for her opening set with Billy Woods and Kenny Segal (June 27th at The York Manor in LA).

Over the last six months, Lealani has exposed her sound to audiences around the world, receiving coverage from publications and radio outlets such as The Wire, Triple J, L.A. Record, Earmilk, BBC Radio 6, XLR8R, KCRW, NestHQ, Bandcamp Daily, dublab, and The Seventh Hex. Dome of Doom and Obey organized a record release show that featured a unique line of album themed apparel and opening support from Exile, DJ Nobody, Free The Robots, Yoshi Vintage, Steebee Webee, and Gavlyn. Over 600 tapes have been sold and the UK is about to be treated to a run in September with an in-store performance at Rough Trade's London-based store, a guest mix and interview with Tom Ravenscroft for BBC Radio 6, and an opening set at the historic 100 Club. She will precede the UK run with a vinyl promotion show at Bandcamp's new performance space and record store in Oakland.

Following the release of Fantastic Planet earlier this year, Lealani was booked for an opening set at Coachella 2019, performing on the same stage as Aphex Twin, seprentwithfeet, Virgil Abloh, and Four Tet. The prestigious indie film company Landmark licensed her music to play before and after film screenings and Hurley invited her for a filmed live session, becoming the most watched episode in their "Hurley Recordings" series. UK's The Wire will celebrate her works with an inclusion of the album's lead single, "Floating," on a special 50th anniversary of their Wire Tapper CD compilation series.

The vinyl release of Fantastic Planet will continue Lealani's journey as a rising singer/songwriter and innovative storyteller, carving out her own lane with dedication, originality, and authenticity.

Daedelus - Labyrinths
Tape | 2017 | US | Original (Dome Of Doom)
13,99 €*
Release:2017 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Alfred Darlington, better known as Daedelus, is an influential Los Angeles producer and cornerstone of the electronic & beat music scenes both locally and internationally. Over the last 15 years, he has released a number of full-lengths, EPs and remixes on labels like Ninja Tune, Anticon, and most recently Brainfeeder, namely the collaborative Kneebody Kneedelus release last year.
Daedelus will release his latest full-length, “Labyrinths”, on his own label, marking the first time Daedelus has released an LP on his imprint.
The album features guest appearances from Seven Davis Jr, Vōx, Amir Yaghmai, Zeroh, longtime collaborator Busdriver, and wife Laura Darlington. Guest musicians include Teebs, Goodnight Cody, and the Voidz drummer Alex Carapetis.
Twisting, complex, and rhizomatic - Daedelus unfurls a maze of genre on Labyrinths, juxtaposing disparate influences while maintaining an underlying love and appreciation for all styles. The record serves as a response and critique of the current state of EDM, in which Daedelus attempts to answer his own questions with style rather than cynicism using the labyrinth metaphor.
