Following up their initial Warning debut with a split single in 2020, we are pleased to welcome back the fierce combination of Sansibar and Reptant on Warning. For our annual 7” release we invited them to remix each others track in celebration of the friendship that connects us.

On the remix of Lizard Of Oz we got Sansibar adding a catchy vocal sample and shifting the psychedelic electro vibe into some more clubby realms. The author of "A Brief History of Acid House", with three decades of production, writing, and journalism, Suddi's love and enthusiasm for the electronic music scene is unparalleled. He makes his Balkan Vinyl debut here with two deep-space hardware electro jams. All artwork for the Kanlab series is by non-binary designer Leo Soph Welton of I Am Human Design.

What began as an independently published 7“ single became a cult classic, a genre defining – and defying – song, an all-time dancefloor favorite of many, a timeless signature piece that escaped its original realm of PostPunk x Wave x Indie x Alternative to also become engrained in the DNA of modern electronic dancefloor culture most prominently in the beloved late 90s permutation presented by DJ Hell which became a classic in its own right. Now the year is 2021. Four decades have passed and NO More's „Suicide Commando“ is back once again - well... the song actually never left! -, this time harking back to the very beginning, the original vibe and the original format. Remastered and re-released with the original tracklisting and paying homage to the original artwork „Suicide Commando“ will be available in 7“ format for the first time since 1981. A Cold Wave producer, guitarist, and songwriter formed the identity of this new analog post-punkish-sounding EP. 80’s instruments such as classic Roland drums, Polivox, and Fender guitars were used to create the modern Lo-fi sound filled with lyrics about narcissism, toxic relationships, and super-ego driven by a strong belief in a fucked up society. This EP was recorded during the spring of 2022 in London, UK, and Šiauliai, Lithuania.

The selection on this 7” is as laid back as you'll probably ever hear him. “Panko” moves responsibly in the 100 BPM range with a punchy gallop & lovely phased synthwork. Ethereal “Tutelary” & its vibrant drums are clearly lost somewhere, if not the desert it can easily be a South Estonian bog he throws us into.

US darkwave pioneers are back with a new 7’’ less than a year after the acclaimed Casa Luna EP. It appears Lycia is living an extremely inspired new youth, as these two tracks convey very lively, spry vibes, yet in the usual dark, melancholic tones which are trademarks of the band.

Romantic proto-acid written and composed by a young Ukrainian student Maxim Shubski in 2010 on a cold winter day in East Germany and subsequently released later same year as a limited run of 100 vinyl copies under “Andreuccio Torelli” moniker. This release was accompanied by a fake story about the lost & found master tapes by an unknown Italian producer from the 80’s. The story is still available as a PDF on the label’s website. Since the original vinyl stampers are long lost, Baran Records has made a new limited 7 inch vinyl reissue.

On this third, consecutive 7" for Knekelhuis they showcase a slightly darker side, undoubtedly influenced by these current viral times. Still, shadows are always in need of light. These two anxious tunes are full of metal clanking, eerie synths and rolling basslines taking you straight into industrial territory, albeit with avant-pop leanings. De Ambassade will firmly hold their ground in the dead of night until the smoke clears and the agony of daylight returns.

Mameen 3 are soFa and Cheb Runner from Brussels. Both versatile players in the rather niche scene of oriental electronic music in the European capital, they only ran into each other at the Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda two years ago. They clicked and after a first jam session they immediately launched Mameen 3.

“Billy Boy”, the title track of Modern Romance’s debut on LuLúxpo’s "Paradise Children Records" imprint is an atypical opener for a dance record. Its lackadaisical guitar work feels more like music made for a smokey dive bar in Tennessee or like it accidentally fell off the soundtrack of a lost Tarantino cut. But it’s a stunner nevertheless, the ideal companion to a lazy, hazy sunday. LuLúxpo’s remix is its club-ready counterpart. The label bosses dial down the rockabilly feel and add their distinct slow and sensuous touch. Choice guitar licks are repurposed over a deep, rolling beat, while angelic oohs take a welcome front seat in the song’s second half.

They've been used during DJ battles and sampled by leading producers worldwide. Now, 16 years after the latest record, 'Tackle 3' will be released! Top notch producers Eni-Less, Mike Redman and DJ Optimus created an amazing tool for turntablists and producers alike. Electronic musician 7FO's first release on EM Records in a long time is a new tune and single that will change the image of 7FO. The new song, "Healing Sword," which the artist says they approached with the "feeling of being mysterious DIY musicians" (not a feeling, they actually are), was the first single song in 7FO history to be produced as a tribute to the 7" pop era and Joe Meek. The third release on the label comes from Schulverweis, the German duo formed by Levente Pavelka and Johannes Haas (L.F.T.). After celebrated outings on Osàre! Editions and Neoprimitive, Schulverweis presents a new record revisiting the idiosyncratic Neue Deutsche Welle sounds.

The word datasal paints inner pictures for most people growing up in Sweden during the 1990’s. The datasal (a classroom for computers) was an ordinary classroom with few changes to fit the school’s 10 newly leased computers. The room represented the change of times in Sweden during this period: the fixed institutions and the awaiting digital flood wave.

The music of Datasal sounds captures the feeling of printing a downloaded picture of your favorite hockey player or music artist or the expectations building up as you wait for the modem to log in to interact with the thousands of users of the internet in 1995. The two tracks on this release manifests the excitement but also the bit of fright you felt connecting to the world in the mid 90’s - a time when the internet still was fun.

The sound is built around repetitive sequencer loops and programmed beats where electric bass, electric guitar and flute improvise around a theme, creating a sound that is best described as cosmic flute house. Datasal is an harmonic reminder of a time where digital progress seemed less harmful than today.

Latvian producer Dmitry Distant strikes again with the latest ‘Into The Night’ single – his second collaboration with vocalist Valeria Simonova, a follow-up to ‘Cold’ released last year. The new single reimagines the 80s electronica with modern approach – Dmitry’s trademark dark romantic sound is still here, together with the distinct cinematic feel. The original A-side ‘Into The Night’ track gives a clear nod to early William Orbit’s work (think of Torch Song) with its hypnotic beat, insistent bassline, seductive vocals and gloomy harmonies. On the remix duties is John Fryer, a legendary English record producer, best known for his work with Fad Gadget, Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Murphy, HIM, Swans, Alison Moyet,This Mortal Coil, to name a few. The John Fryer Remix (B-side) treats the original in a harder way, towards EBM direction, with harsh synth sequences and dense percussion, making it a perfect fit for a 3 am set at a packed dancefloor in Berlin.

Manchester producer, DJ and dancefloor spirit guide Ruf Dug gets fruity on his Korg Dw8000, for this homage to Manctalo pioneers Red Laser Disco who have revitalised the Italo sound over the last decade. Given that Ruffy lives on the same street as Red Laser head honcho “Il Bosco” it’s unsurprising that his latest release is heavily influenced by his noisy neighbour’s antics.

Manctalo Beach has gone through several versions over the years to arrive, like a chilled Bianco, at the crisp beauty you hear today. The songs embrace a deep sense of nostalgia, while remaining firmly and confidently rooted within a contemporary pop context.

»Darkness« may be the most uplifting pop song ever that deals with mental health issues and depression. A topic that many can surely associate with after a challenging period of lockdowns and lack of perspective. The opening moments seem like a flirty exchange between an early Vince Clarke and Jake Shears but with a more bouncy and ›present-day‹ sound aesthetic. The bridge, »Was I ever in control, did my feelings just go rogue. Released in conjunction with the reissue of the Raintears EP, Quindi is proud to present further archival finds from Italian experimental project Cabaret du Ciel. Like a Fool / Inside Loneliness is a single shining a light on the brief collaboration between Andrea Desidera, Gian Luigi Morosin and singer Barbara Volpato. After years working as an instrumental outfit, the sessions with Volpato from 1991 were the first time Desidera and Morosin’s project had welcomed in a vocalist. Of the many tracks written and recorded at that time, the best two were selected and carefully restored from the original tapes, now immortalised on vinyl and expanding the public impression of Cabaret du Ciel. ‘Like A Fool’ re-imagines the hazy serenity of Cabaret du Ciel in a dream pop context, injecting the soft-focus synth work with the energy of bold drums to provide a suitable framework for Volpato’s voice. The crisp twang of new wave guitar completes the picture, while the trademark progression intrinsic to Cabaret du Ciel lends itself to the traditional song structures of pop. ‘Inside Loneliness’ is a natural companion to the A side, redolent with the heavy-hearted synth-pop romanticism of the late 80s and early 90s. The DIY sound on the track conveys an intimacy that can only come from artists recording in their own private environment, pouring their hearts and souls into a four-track recorder without a conceit other than pure, honest expression.

This recording is dedicated to nomads, space travelers, free spirits that visits earth for a brief time to make a mark here on their way to other worlds. They leave traces on tram wagons, walls and in our minds in our cities before moving on into the unknown. Especially one.

A slow build up to a jungle crescendo is how “Iris” develops. This is a fine example of how Fontän effortlessly makes crossover music – no compromises needed in neither end of the spectrum, this music flows naturally. The dreamy music box-sounding intro of “Mast” falls into a deep half beat where warm E-bow guitars and sweeping synthesizers carries the music higher and higher away from the ground.

These two tracks are a peaceful homage to all the cosmic kings and queens that have spent time here on earth. Safe travels!

It's a tribute to Ikutaru Kakehashi, founder of Roland Corporation, pioneer in electronic music instruments and creator of the original Roland Tr-808. The Time Capsule project, also known as 808 Box, is a project created by Fundamental Records. The six boxes released in recent years include 56 records with over 300 tracks from artists from every corner of the world. Some warehouse copies have surfaced of the 5th 808 Box, and these will be available individually. These are new copies in perfect condition, with the original sleeves printed with the classic Roland Tr-808.

Schneider is a Freiburg based duo that tells those everyday stories everyone has already experienced. Stories of desire and lost love, a confrontation with short-lived and powerful encounters. Their debut release Mitternacht is a two-track 7“. The name-giving A-side is about the desperate search for some love, accompanied by a distorted bassline, melancholic synths and echo-ringing church bells. The Bside culminates in howls of emotion. The perfect soundtrack for lonesome walks in restless morning hours.

After the self-titled album on Tokyo-based label Diskotopia, Beats Unlimited (Doc Sleep & Hypno Discs) follow up with two dubbed out, bass-heavy companions for the Hypno Discs label. Heavy on the low-end, easy on the wallet.

Brazilian producer Zopelar has been breaking necks since few years already with his distinctive brand of space funk! In this particular release for Mother Tongue he comes across like Sao Paulo meets West London on the a side [Entre Viagens] and turns into a heavy Detroit influenced Electro Funk jam the b side [Vista].

Latvian electronic producer Dmitry Distant is expanding further his sound palette with his new 2-track ‘Cold’ single, continuing his musical journey beyond pure ‘electro’ genre. The release clearly marks a new page in Dmitry’s artistic story – in his electronic reinterpretation of The Cure’s iconic song, Dmitry is giving the classic track a darker twist, with pounding reverberated drums and piercing yet soulful vocals by Valeria Simonova, paying tribute to his goth and new wave background. ‘Zenith’ is a majestic John Carpenter-esque synth anthem – the track can easily be imagined to accompany opening titles of a dystopian sci-fi blockbuster, with stark melodic synthesizer lines and minimalistic yet inventive structure.

Recorded in 1978 and unreleased to this day. The band formed in Ghent, in the flamish north part of Belgium, from the ashes of Basta who released a single in 1977.
