In celebration of the recent flurry of interest regarding the Sarah Records reissues on Emotional Response, it was decided by the bands involved—EVen As We Speak, Boyracer, Action Painting! and Secret Shine—to also present NEW material alongside the original Sarah recordings. This album features new and previously unreleased tracks by all four bands, and proudly sports the original “Sarah” logo, with the lettering cheekily changed to spell out “punk”. Because, as you probably know, there were very few labels in the era of Sarah that stuck so steadfastly to their punk-rock principles! Anticipation and interest is running high, as all four bands will be touring together the UK in July 2018, with shows selling out months in advance. This album serves as a reminder that some bands of the Sarah Era also stuck steadfastly to their DIY principles, whilst continuing to move forward and make new music.

After the success of the 2 Late 4 Love EP, Roy Of The Ravers returns to Emotional Response with a double LP with a deeper perspective, experimenting in ambient and drone textures, lucid techno travails and acid interludes. Recorded between 1997 and 2017, the album was pieced together over the last six months after Roy's archives were first feared lost and then found. Approached by the label to release a follow up with something more introspective and personal, it was discovered that a recent move to a new studio had led to over 20 years of music being misplaced after it was believed they were mistakenly dropped at a local charity store. However, deep in a box of what were thought to be patch cables were in fact the decades worth of hard drives and here presented, is a sample of those lost recordings. The nature of the music is introspection, eschewing the acid beats and white noise for a personal encounter between man and machine. The orchestral opening of the title track gives way to the submarine beats, pulsing TB303 and gliding hats of Robinson College 10 to set the outlook to come. Even with the scattering A Dim And Distant Past waking lulled senses, the melodies and feel all lead to a pause and reflect rather than jump and shout. This is continued with the haunting drives of Bounce Erec and Oriental X0X-Press; the twisted, warped jams of The Weber Traum Boat Pt.3, Ichi and Roland Corp Labs 05; and the beautiful, heartfelt odes in Sade Lost Theme, The Clock House Pt.2 and closer, Nemesis '01. The album's melodic nature hums and shines as CS (6x8) appears as much a centre piece as a alternative consideration to the acid tinged, club bangs of Roy's releases to date. A surprise package maybe, but in the rolling, word of mouth phenomena that was Emotinium II, all this and more was sensed and so White Sunrise Music II, spreading across 12 songs of contrasting moods, is a further affirmation that there is something good and worthy of exploration.

Australian pop heroes seventh album Beauty Point. Recorded in two parts BeautyPoint began to be realized in a week of sessions at a house/studio in Stanwell ParkN.S.W. The beautiful cliff side location was contrasted by the albums final sessionswhich took place in the bands inland hometown of Wagga Wagga. This time thelocation was on top of Beauty Point Drive - the towns central lookout. As an albumcreated very much on-location the band found the two environments painting adichotomy in their work from two very different perspectives of beauty. Beauty Pointbalances moments of introspection with visceral expression as themes of identity, belonging and significance are brought into the light by the shared perspectives of thebands six songwriters.

The return of Brain Machine, with their Peaks album, was one of the highlights of last year for Emotional Response. Juan Tripp (aka Jon Tye of Seahawks), Guido Zen (Vactrol Park) and Kyle Martin's (Spectral Empire/Land Of Light/Vactrol Park) acclaimed kosmiche opus is followed up with 2 remix EPs featuring some of the best proponents, peers and friends of deep electronic music. Remixes One is given over to a quartet of trusted hands including man of the moment, Tolouse Low Trax, ambient visionary Gigi Masin, afro-techno-dub specialist Harmonious Thelonious and stalwarts Ronny & Renzo. First Detlef Weinrich shows his mastery of a unique percussive sound that has seen his identity become as respected outside of his native Dusseldorf as he is in it for his role as one of the founders and curator of Salon des Amateurs. A brooding, propulsive culmination, the original's haunting ambience is retained for a subtle, driving rework that hits the mark. Surprise of the EP is Gigi Masin's remix of Crystal Clouds. Eschewing the original's celestial soundscapes, scattered percussion interplays with sub-bass to change the context, giving a rhythmic dimension while retaining the shimmering guitar and arpeggio infused cohesion. Starting the B-side is another Dusseldorf elder statesman, in the afro-visions of Harmonious Thelonious. Solo, as well as one third of The Durian Brothers, Stefan Schwander, has carved a distinct sound. Chrematistic percussion is matched with an atmospheric, dub-techno feel that perfectly fits the EP. Play loud for full understanding. Finally, Remixes One concludes with the return of Ronny & Renzo. Long time associates of Brain Machine, their 10 minutes plus remix takes the glacial original's ambience to a darker plain, fusing rhythmic pulses with alluding acid intent.

Following his participation in the Schleißen series last year and his recent collaborative release with Wolf Muller on International Feel, Cass. returns with his new explorative solo album, Youth Sessions. Niklas Rehme-Schluter aka Cass. has been making a name since the aptly titled Loops and Farewell Sketches debut appeared in 2013. Collages of soundcaped textures, his music has progressed via a series of cassette releases. Recommended by Jan Schulte during a visit to Dusseldorf, the inclusion of 6 near ambient pieces for the label's SchleiBen albums were a highlight of the series for many. Succeeding this summers The Sounds Of Glades mini-album with Jan (as Wolf Muller), Youth Sessions sees Cass. expand his solo works beyond ambient and kosmische defines towards a more whole encompassing ouvert. Mixing field recordings, percussion loops, samples, Cass. now adds vocals to build and layer with a warmth and glow - evoking long overlooked, but sought feelings. Moments, glimpses of something new yet known. Tracks like Jelli, U and Prismatic Prolog create tension towards The Chase / Holding On, before peaking with the anthemic Ann and outwards again. Leaving us with the refrains of Space Talk and Your Beautiful Look Is Looping Endlessly In My Head, Cass. progresses his music and also, Emotional Response too. A parallel journey to an end still unknown, with that rush of yearning and hope, a youth that may never of existed, but still for a short time, feels recaptured.

Even As We Speak formed in Sydney in 1986. Resisting neat labels, the band’s music is a quirky hybrid of accessible pop, ironic interjections, and experimental moments. They came to the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel racking up three Peel Sessions and a Goodier session during their brief and prolific stay in the UK. Subsequent releases on Sarah Records achieved multiple top 10 positions in the NME and Melody Maker charts. Recent interest has seen the band reform for NYC PopFest in 2016, re-release their Peel Sessions, and create a new EP ‘The Black Forest’ (Emotional Response). Remastered with new artwork, Emotional Response are proud to present the highly anticipated 25-year reissue of the band’s lone and iconic 1993 album Feral Pop Frenzy.

Born from the largely fictitious “Wetherby scene” of the early ‘90s, Boyracer to date have released over 800 commercially physically available songs, and have remained enthusiastic flag-wavers for many indie and punk labels from all over the globe. They have played their part in the Sarah Records, A Turntable Friend and Slumberland records history through fiery punk-pop blasts such as “I’ve Got It and it’s Not Worth Having” and “He Gets Me So Hard” (both included here). Armed with a fuzzbox, and a revolving door cast of over 50 members past and present, founding frontman Stewart Anderson, formerly of Leeds UK, now resides in Flagstaff, Arizona, and with wife (and Boyracer member) Jen Turrell, also runs the Emotional Response label. This LP collects the three EPs recorded for Sarah Records between 1993 and 1994.

The band never realized a full-length LP at the time. Words that capture this resultant outcome. A spectral haze of subconscious, living rhythms. A meeting of mind-tribes. Close; Kudo; Ruscha; Tripp. Hear, the discovery of Tkil. Such collaboration can bring powerful interests, mixing diversity with vivid psychedelic motions. Soundscapes of improvised beats, jamming intersections float and pierce the sonic sphere. Aural poetics illuminated across satellite optics, NYC-LA-NYC-LA. The quartet creates in a non-linear, multiple level, liquid sequence. Four individuals, their subtle personality's reiterating sonic textures to form cascading minimalist atmospheres, chimes and percussion - diffused harmonics of ethnic vortices descending endlessly. Acting as coordinates that search for their source, a purity of multiplicity is presented. Together these are focused experiments, raga-like meditations of precious expression from artistic connotation. Visionary; subtle; mysterious. Their essence an eclectic blend of composition, a natural but technical expression of cosmic minimalism and world music influence. The outcome is a magical encounter of artists finding a creative affinity, sweeping downstream on a rolling rhythmic magic muse, beyond a bizarre excursion to capture the thrill of modernism, moments that reach the soul of alienation and togetherness in equal, savant, infinity.

Jeremy Campbell and R. Zanzibar return as Out 2 with their debut full length, Showcase. Following their recent Moving EP, the duo expand their mix of New York off-kilter pop lyrical poetics riding over percussive desk-dub funk grooves. After collaborating on releases for Lectric Sands and L.I.E.S (Zoovox and Locks & DDM) the Brooklyn team dug deep in the studio to create 6 vocals and their dub versions in a true 'showcase' style. With that, after its appearance in longer 'discomix' form, the album starts with the original version of Moving. Just under 3 minutes of hectic New York funk - chop guitar, punch bass and blasting horn jump ups. Rolling straight to the Version, Campbell's mixing desk skills let it all hang out and back. Snares rattle, hats ride, bass in and out, a voice rightly interjects "...are we moving?". Sliding in to Dancing, the tryptamines start to flow and skip atop a steppas beat. The "raps", dubs and fx weave their way in to your subconscious as electrons whirl in a warm psychedelic fuzz. This is further exemplified in side closer, Pale Fens. The improvised vocals fit seamlessly among the beats, bass and guitar haze. As the skin, lips, eyes, pull you in, the Version takes it deep. Sole guitar solo and the rest rides from the desk. Perry, Bovell, Sherwood. The beauty in the space between is the essence of music itself. Side 2 starts with a crowning gem, Some Air's Red There. Flute rides a hook that is simplicity in its ingenuity. Zanzibar in his wayward element "...she said I had the wrong rhythm?". By now ears twisted to what the Version brings, the laidback vibes, with wind solo, drift to an Upstate/White Isle summer's day that is long remembered. Don't Stop comes on as a No NYC love paean. Congas, rhythm guitar and impro' lyrical flow, contorting bass, flange, flange, flange. "Run all day, we don't stop". Version just glides and glides. Finally, to close, Run is the lazy finale dub (master)piece. A simple Jammy's style riddim; a midi-funk groove. It swings low alongside lyrical imaginings, encapsulating Out 2's place in the New York firmament, where disco, punk, hip hop were and are very much fellows with the often overlooked, but amazing dub reggae that has been produced in the city for decades.

For the final part of SchleiBen 5 - 8, Emotional Response welcomes two Scottish based artists to close out the series. In Jon Keliehor you have a world and music traveler with history from psychedelic rock to fourth world exposure, alongside one of the best electronic producers of the last decade, Lord Of The Isles. As the drummer of West Coast folk rock / psychedelic band The Daily Flash, Keleihor spent much of the mid-60 based in and out of Seattle and Los Angles, playing alongside the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Cream and The Doors, before an increasing interest in meditation and philosophies outside of the 'rock' realm led him to England in the early 70s where he become involved in dance theatre. Teaching Advanced Rhythmic Music Studies at the London Contemporary Dance School, his music composition style became influenced by his studies of world music. Finally settling in Glasgow for over 20 years, while running the Luminous Music label and Gamelan Naga Mas, his earlier recordings for labels like Indipop, Touch and Bruton have seen a recent revival, with music appearing recently on contemporaries Optimo Music and Invisible Inc. The wonderful recordings included here span over 3 decades, from sessions at the Luminous Studio at The Diorama Theatre, London in the early 80s, through to recent field-work based recordings in the Cairngorms. Reconfigured and updated, a common thread appears through the pieces - a sense of longing and appreciation - as Jon's knowledge of outer-national instrumentation alongside equally extensive travels around the globe gives the recordings a seamless blend of organic craft. The tonal consonances within unlikely combinations of instruments, with tuned glasses (tarang), tabla, jaw harps, clay flutes and ocarinas, Chinese instruments that include Xiao-Bo and Xiao-Ping, large Noah bells, small and larges gongs all employed, the recordings have been reconstructed, edited and updated via sampling and digital processing. Featuring the playing of John "Jhalib" Millar - the extraordinarily gifted musician and tabla player - who has appeared with an EP on sister label, Emotional Rescue (ERC029), sadly recently deceased, the contribution acts as a tribute and more. To close, the music of Lord Of The Isles is an excellent companion to Jon's work. Neil McDonald's list of club-based releases on labels CockTail D'Amor, Ene, Firecracker, Permanent Vacation, ESP Institute and Phonica is comprehensive and exemplary, however within his productions has often been an other-worldly element, a space between the beats and occasional fully ambient pieces. Approached originally for series one of SchleiBen, the 7 pieces included were worth the wait, a journey in themselves and the perfect completion. Spanning almost 5 years, the majority were written during an extended exile in the Cairngorms. The lifting, ethereal, but melodic nature of the music fits that aesthetic. Blue skies, snow, long walks, space to think, but with a longing and appreciation of family and friends. The solitary nature found in SchleiBen 8 and the geographical incidence of both artist's recordings including sessions in the Scottish Highlands fits the series ideals and is a nice closure. Enjoy and listen.

Things take a psychedelic turn for SchleiBen 7 with a welcome to the label of arch exponents of mind expansion in NYC's Georgia and the unlikely but no less diverse inclusion of Balearic stalwarts A Man Called Adam. Having Georgia in the series might not now be a surprise, however discussions with this open, genuine duo started during a visit to New York over 3 years ago and so here, finally realised in this fluid journey of confident pace and harmony, is the best of their freeform evocations. A duo in the everyday sense, Brian Close and Justin Tripp are video / music production teamsters of unnatural talent. Having gained a status of their own that has seen them release for the likes of Palto Flats and FTD, the five pieces that form their contribution drip with psychedelic intent. Culled from archives, the interest is how the tracks - made over different years, locations and situations in life - meld in to something poetic simply by being placed within a specific format. Avant-chimes ebb to rhythmic pulses and erudite teachings before dark percussion and Eastern melodies reach a clattering, but gentle finale. With an upcoming collaborative album with Secret Circuit due on the label later in 2018, as well as recent works with RVNG Intl's Matt Werth and recordings for Sacred Summits' brethren Firecracker Recordings, it's a warm, effusive glow of a welcome. In contrast, the inclusion of A Man Called Adam in the series may indeed surprise but is a false comprehension. The "Sketches" included here show AMCA away from their Balearic pop incarnation of the last thirty years and towards the academia that both members Sally Rodgers and Steve Jones have pursued in the last decade. With both completing PHDs, Sally ('The Diachronic Impact of Technology-Led Abstraction in Oral, Written and Music-based Poetries') is a senior lecturer at Leeds College Of Music, while Steve ('Mobilise: The Carry Principle, Sound and Mobile Media') is based out of de Montfort University, now is the perfect time to highlight the diverse sound environments they have been working in. The music that makes up these recordings are drawn from sound works and audio experiments completed in recent years. From sound toys and apps to home made glass organs and electro-acoustic sound, custom patches to spoken word manipulations, the sketches are excerpts - some evolved from commissions for the National Science Museum, BBC Radio 4 and live performances with the world renowned video artist Milosh JL - fused especially for this release. Bringing these generated pieces in to an audible "mix" creates a discourse of their work in performance, interactions and visual media. An intellectualised album therefore, but still in the premise of the series to allow artists to present something new, unique, discrete, hidden even, all with the aim of giving the recipient the chance to sit back and (un)listen.

Emotional Response continues the second SchleiBen series with a pan-ocean exploration of meditative spiritualism meets psychedelic ambience. The 2nd of the 4 part series expands with the inclusive offerings from LA's Matthewdavid and London's HOLOVR for a cyclical journey of altered consciousness against lush 303-tinged harmonics. First, Matthewdavid provides a 20-minute live recording to showcase his "meditation with music". Beat maker, producer, label owner, radio host and now new age explorer, Matthew David McQueen has been a fixture of the City Of Angles music scene for over a decade. However, it was his association with Tropical Hi-Fi (SchleiBen 3) that first attracted the label's attention to dig deeper in to his developing sound. As Leaving Records founder he has a prominent role is shaping the cities sound that has seen him work with Sun Araw, Laraaji and a myriad of the label's roster. Here performing in most his recent incarnation, Matthewdavid's Mindflight - having just released the wonderful Trust The Guide And Glide double album opus - is Sonos. Recorded live at Dublab Radio's "Tonalism" event at Sonos Studios, the piece utilises Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano, Hulusi Flute and Ableton Live to create movement, fade and sequence. A looping realisation, music inside music, thresholds expanded, connecting the centre, a place, origin, a soul that allows a devout expression to exude and find mediation in sound. This is music to get lost and at the same, get found in. Set against these endless arp-loops, is HOLOVR, raising a more focused consciousness that is a perfect counterpoint. Having already appeared on the label via his recent, deep, eloquent remix of Sad City, as well as releasing with label favourites Opal Tapes, Further Records and Firecracker, the desire to work with another uniquely individual producer has been in place for several years. Recorded using only hardware; 303 lines, soft pads, arpeggio synths and Roland percussion capture a snapshot of time in a natural, in-the-moment negotiation of these different elements, giving trademark, open, drifting loops that let the listener within, while texture and tone engage, activating harmonic resonances almost as a drone. This progressive disintegration, tuning in and dropping out of musical spheres envelops while hinting at aphex influences and (artificial) intelligence. SchleiBen shifts, expanding, growing, pulsating. Keep the faith and (un)listen.

Emotional Response returns to the SchleiBen series, with another offering of 4 split albums. Again artists are given free reign, encouraged to push the boundaries of their studio and live experimentation in form and texture. For parts 5 - 8 the net is cast wide, from the psychedelic moons of Tomaga to Matthewdavid's meditative live improvisation, a collection of A Man Called Adam's commissioned sound-works to Jon Keliehor's new age visions. First Tomaga, a duo that grew out of engine of psychedelic rock outfit, The Oscillation, to become a respected entity of it's own. Featuring long time friend of the label, Tom Relleen and drummer extraordinaire Valentine Ma, the project has grown to become greater than the sum of its parts. With 4 albums in 3 years and one more upcoming - plus their ridiculously overlooked solitary remix of Not Waving for the label - the output doesn't come close to matching their live "events", from almost constant touring. The 2 pieces were recorded in an improvised session as an interzone between their last album, which was recorded entirely in non-studio spaces and their newer material. Featuring heavily processed long form studio recordings, the pieces, with Tom's bass and audio manipulation set over Valentine's exemplarily, intricate percussive interplay, provide a perfect, brooding introduction to the second series of SchleiBen. This is contrasted with the first 'official' solo output of Neil Tolliday. As Nail, he has gained respect for over 25 years crafting deep, bumpin' House music on labels like DiY Discs, Remote and Classic, including the sought after Big D's Lounge album. After a sojourn as one of half of off-kilter pop duo, Bent, the Nail moniker has been recently resurrected for a new generation of followers. Throughout this time Neil has recorded more personal music, initially for his own consumption, however some recently starting surfacing under various pseudonyms via digital portals. No press, no information about who was really behind the music was given before being deleted soon after. After some encouragement, here then marks the first appearance of Neil Tolliday. On the two tracks included, these drawn out, eastern influenced, drone ragas are pure meditation from Tolliday's 4/4 output. With an upcoming album on Emotional Response, more is to come. A welcome return to SchleiBen then, due course to pause and reflect, emptying the moment to (un)listen.

The return of Timothy J Fairplay sees tracks from his 2 EPs on Emotional Response remixed on one special release. Four favourite producers chosen to bring new dimensions to his brooding, shuffling electronics, featuring Scientific Dreamz Of U, Alessandro Parisi, Perseus Trax and Antenna. Part of the label since inception, the last five years have seen TJF's career explode with releases on Bird Scarer, Charlois and Hoga Nord, setting up the Crimes Of The Future label with Scott Fraser and releasing an album alongside Andrew Weatherall as The Asphodells. His EPs for Emotional Response saw some of his strongest, deep and dubbed out productions that marked their own terrain and these reworks have been a long term project. Starting with a trance inducing breaks-dub of Stories of Prison from Scientic Dreamz Of U and you understand why this mysterious producer has become a cult in his own dreamtime, as subs bump this vortexed revision to its own portal. Next Alessandro Parisi implants his cyber-electro-harmonies to Aim For The Yellow Sector. Fairplay's late night drive-by is respectfully given a future-retro mix, gliding away from East London's dank streets to mysterious plains and beyond. Things take an analogue twist for the flip with Perseus Traxx showing his love for Chi town on his remix of Saco Bay. A bumpin' bass sets the motion, mixing the swirling original to basement vibes x 10. Win win win. Kindred spirit and fellow Pinkman/Charlois member Antenna closes the EP with a deep retake of Night Ferry. After causing a stir with the killer Odessa EP and subsequent releases on Royal Oak and Beats In Space, a remix was a given. A mellow groove and optimistic keys is the perfect way to end this chapter of Timothy's music and await for new adventures.

Emotional Response steps to summer '17 by welcoming with accompanying releases from Out 2. Evolved out of the Brooklyn based Lectric Sands studio / label and featuring members of their own Zoovox and Mazing Vids, this 'super-alumni' is a perfect meeting for the label and US brotherhood. Based around a longtime friendship, this slow-burner project is centered around the NYC life of one-time roommates, DJ sparrers and just possibly the latter day duo behind the Locks & DDM project that was released (semi-) anonymously in 2016, step out in to the (fluorescent) light. With just one Out 2 track given to the world back in 2012 on Lectric Sounds 1, these recordings have morphed for a near decade to reach fruition in long-form EP and soon to come 'Showcase' vocals and dubs album. While some is known of Mr Jeremy Campbell forum/blog educator, DJ Tropical Jeremy monikererer, half-a-Zoovox and studio (dub)don - his cohort, the little known R. Zanzibar remains a man of mystery. Zanzibar's free-flowing lyrics, shredded guitar and bass grooves come together before plunging into Campbell's wall-of-dub mixing matrix. With fellow Lectric-head, Ben Gebhardt contributing sometimes-synths and general mixpertise, Out 2 offer a timely reminder of the best of their hometowns post-punk / new wave history, but with a laid back irreverence and killer, leg shaking, live-dubbed grooves that are very much for today. In opener, Zanzibar lays it out. Contrary to song matter, this is impossible to not to be a Downtown-showdown-hoedown. Impro' lyrical flow keeps your head listening before the off-kilter dub-funk groove keeps you feet Moving. Following in Fire, your mind is soon tripping to sonic content and vocal swirls, before it gets all Compass Point, with an discomix inspired, cod-desk-dub. On the flip Rubber Hour lays a drum-work out that just sits and waits, pulling you further in the midi-groove, before Zanzibar's floating voice leads to digi-synth bass interplay. Who is top and who is bottom doesn't matter, let it ride. Closer has you listening closely, with sharp, chopped No NY guitar-like-synth, contorting with distorted echo-vox, down to the bottom...but you're not at the bottom. In fact, this could just be the beginning. Listen Closely.

Celebrating the return of Brain Machine's spatial explorations in last years Peaks album, this decade long sonic mission concludes in the second EP of remixes Two - with another selection of artists providing exemplary interpretations of the final 4 songs. The EP starts with a wonderful mix from Los Angeles native, Rollmottle. Running the beautifully sporadic Sentrall label since 2001, here Anthony Puglisi takes the Balearic meet Krautrock leaning of his excellent recent album, Fear Ritual, and crafts a lovely, drifting, textural stargazer. Next the Dusseldorf / Brain Machine axis returns with a remix from rising names, Die Wilde Jagd. As Unit 4, Ralf Beck is considered by many to be one of the least heralded, but most talented producers. Returning alongside sometime Noblesse Oblige member Sebastian Lee Philipp, the remix eschews the motorik consistency of their early outings for a 9 minutes + remix of atmospheric nirvana. The final side of the double mixes package goes to newer names in Cass. and Merrick Adams. As one half of the ZSOU, alongside Mo Morris, the project has sadly only spawned 2 EPs to date, so here Merrick ventures solo with a building tremulous break-drum trip to (Alpha) Moon. More to come. Cass. closes proceedings with a ubiquitous glow. With his appearance on the SchleiBen series and recent solo album for the label, plus his joint-release with Wolf Muller on International Feel all being acclaimed, this mission ends with pure ambient bliss. Part 2 of the Brain Machine journey is complete. Where next?

More than simple out-takes, these 3 pieces formed their own unique setting and were deliberately separated as the recording process came to a close and often appeared in his recent live shows. A conscious decision was made that this 'set' should appear together and therefore, represent a link between what has gone before and what lies ahead. From the first looped vocal / stuttering percussion that works across the ambience of Music Removed, a deeper compulsion is apparent. Cascading spoken samples and introspection that drift, swirl and merge infinitely. Patterns follows, embedding a love of the fourth world with melancholic yearnings that rise and fall as a quickly as memories. Vexillations completes the piece. Intense percussion and sensuous chime loops create distance to previous work. Modulating and meditative, an almost architectural structure appears from the dense sequencing and reverberations. What forms Gary Caruth will explore next are unclear, but the existential wonder of his mysterious sound-scapes and tone make for a celestial journey.

Los Angeles post-punkers Shark Toys delight with off-kilter clatter of the highest caliber, possessing a jagged beauty that defies the songs shamble-pop brevity. Swell Maps and Television Personalities flavor the proceedings without dominating, with Shark Toys retaining their own American-DIY-art-punk identity through their wonderfully constructed and sonically thrilling songs. From Gainesville Florida, UV-TV’s debut vinyl offering is a unique hybrid of infectious psyche-punk and dynamic indiepop. C86/Shop Assistants-esque melodies coupled with pounding toms and soaring dark angular post-punk guitar. This is stripped down 3-piece brutal-pop, with smatterings of feedback, counter balanced perfectly by the sweet melodic vocal delivery of Rose Vastola. Pressed on colored vinyl with download featuring two bonus tracks.

Gone beyond. That's what they say when an (astro) pilot crashes to earth and takes the journey into the big sky. When Juan Trippe took that last flight little did he know that his re-incarnated self would be an electronic pioneer. In tandem with his co-pilot Guido Zen (his own father also a pilot) and Kyle Martin (from the Land Of Light) they formed Brain Machine and scaled the highest Peaks to bring back music both unearthly and intensely human. Are we all not stardust anyway? This music proves it, takes you out flips you over and rolls you in stardust. Don't try and think it through, make sense of it, grasp it - just wander in wonder and bask in beauty. Get lost again.

Featuring 4 producers that cross musical spheres is the labels way and again roster members are handed the keys to the treasure while welcoming other, less unknown producers a chance to highlight their aural visions. Starting with the ubiquitous Secret Circuit, here following up his blissed out releases for the label with a first remix. Respecting Luke's leftfield production, but layering his trademark guitar work with a motorik groove, distant harmonic bells and uplifting keys that bring the friends and producers music in a Balearic tandem. This is followed with William Burnett's Black Deer alias taking the wonderful, but sadly short I Recommend Starman and coming up with an extended edit that allows this modern krautrock masterpiece to truly shine as it should. Simple yet perfect. On the flip is Not Waving's Alessio Natalizia with a beautiful take on the loved-up, R&B meets Aphex MDMA rush of Time For Thick. Totally replaying the song himself, it is the light industrial percussion and repeating keys that take the track on a journey to the skies. Finally then, the EP comes back down to earth and closes with new label member, Australia's mysterious Tropical Hi-Fi. Taking the brooding ambience of The Music Hear At Sea World And Never Forget and turning in a drone meets field-recording masterwork.

After the earscape laid by SchleiBen 1 & 2, things take a twist for part 3 with a darker, deeper and downright trippier set of recordings. Just 1 track per side this is not for the faint-hearted but for real sonic explorers looking to tune in and drop out of musicial spheres. With an endless supply of production talent coming out of Dusseldorf, it seemed only right to shine a light on one of the more experimental and dare say, academic producers, in Florian Meyer aka Don't DJ. As co-founder of the Diskant label - home to Harmonious Thelonious - and one third of The Durian Brothers, Don't DJ is about pushing rhythmic boundaries. With just 2 EPs to date, a recent move to Berlin sees Florian broadened the emphasis to that of collaboration. Travelling back south to a studio deep in the Black Forest he pushes the link between polyrhythmic percussion and brooding electronics. Here, then is where you'll find Kosmose, a full 20 minutes of inspection and instropection. Be ready to let go. As almost light relief then, come the musical mind of Tropical Hi-Fi. A secretive figure living beyond the reaches in Northern Australia, his field recording inspired music is a revolation. Laying aside working with his sometime neighbours and friends Ariel Kalma and Mike Cooper, on his upcoming debut album, he provides a special "live" mix meets studio exploration. Folk, psychedelic, (fourth) world music, found sounds of his native habitat are all thrown in a beautiful mind-altering, growing, pulsating ultraworld. Justified and (un)listen.

Dating from tape recordings made between 1996 - 2012, Cosmic Vibrations follows the Tropical Psychedelics (ERS003) album for the label, this time digging deeper in to the mind of Secret Circuit than the more dance flor inspired sounds heard on last years album Tactile Galactics album for Beats In Space. Again we glimpse a melting pot of pyschedelia, techno, balearic and ambient to create an electronic gem, but all done with a wry smile and jesters wink rather than today's penchant of moody seriousness. Life on the US West Coast shines from the album, from opener Out West to She Got Love, sunshine music that couldn't be made anywhere else. It's not all hippy-happy vibes though with Minimal Vibrations and the dub of Straightline taking things in to deeper and instropective territory. However, all things resonate in Eddie's analogue meets kitchen sink synthesis. Layer after layer flats across the album to create a smile-inducing whole. Journeying from the folk guitar of Somnambulation to the minimilism of Glass Skeletons, before bidding a fond farewell in the apt, Bells. This second and fial collection of early cassette works is not an end, but a blessing.

When Juno Plus spoke to Emotional Response boss Stuart Leath recently, he talked excitedly about his latest time intensive project - trawling through boxes of old cassette recordings from L.A multi-instrumentalist Eddie "Secret Circuit" Ruscha to compile a follow-up to 2012's brilliant Tropical Psychedelics compilation. Predictably, the resulting collection is nothing short of brilliant. Typically eccentric, melodious, atmospheric and bristling with interesting ideas, Cosmic Vibrations delves deeper into Ruscha's archives and comes up with gold. Highlights are naturally plentiful, but keep an eye out for the psychedelic ambience of "Electric Brain", the analogue electronic explorations of "Nova Laser", and "Shockers", an acid-flecked chunk of chiming Balearic deep house with exotic, Arabic touches.

As one of the rising stars of the East Coast US electronic scene, Luke’s Torn Hawk releases on the cult L.I.E.S records introduced his cut up and glitchy take on R&B and House that have recently edged deeper and darker in to the Noise and Techno realms associated with the likes of Demdike Stare and Regis.
