Ephemera (Stewart Whitmarsh) makes up one third of the Fixed Rhythms operational crew. He's here with an in-your-face, emotionally large EP representing his idiosyncratic blend of big bass, Southern rap hi-hats, lush synths and modular squelches. The tempo is such that you can dance hard and fast or find the beats in between and chill on a blunt. Either way, heady for sure. The A-side hits hard, whereas the B-side calms down a bit for some reflection. Limited edition of 100 professionally dubbed and printed fluorescent green cassettes. Mastered by Dietrich Schoenemann.

Karger Traum proves with their third release that they are more than just an EBM group. The German-language duo based out of Oklahoma City brings their varying dance music tastes to the table with their first full-length LP release, with influences ranging from techno to electro to new wave, while further refining their characteristic mix of Einstürzende Neubauten that's more grounded in electro-acoustic body music. But this record isn't just total industrial darkness. It has moments of sassy, cheeky playfulness. It is an adventure from start-to-finish with tracks set to propel the dance floor into utterly trippy territory, while seamlessly flowing as a cohesive album across multiple sonic realms. Co-released by Fixed Rhythms and DKA Records.

Joseph Sardashti is a producer residing in Detroit that hails from a musically minded family in a small town in Oklahoma. His sonic foundation was formed in learning classical violin and listening to Santana as a child. Sardashti became obsessed early on with the raw sounds of funk and hip hop, which is clear in his initial productions. Following his relocation to Detroit in 2016, his music made a reciprocal shift to darker, faster, dance-focused rhythms. He makes his tracks live--every recording a performance of its own. Sard throws the monthly Tunnel Visions party in Windsor, which focuses on featuring Detroit and Canadian talents for an evening of weeknight dance and expression. Sard relieves stress daily by making and mixing music.
“Meshed” highlights Sard’s smart wit and empathy, his darker as well as brighter moods. It’s punishing as well as uplifting. Broken up loosely into a darker and a brighter side, Sard lays out his dynamic style for those who like their dance-floor to take them everywhere. This is for those who are not afraid to embrace both their ugliness and radiance.

A 5 track journey of an EP. Both A-side tracks are banging deep house tracks, which have the essence of true NYC underground dance party anthems. B1 cools down into a steady, simply badass track. B2 gets into heady, almost Workshop-esque, rough around the edges, honest and fresh house. Then B3 lands the listener smoothly with an exceptionally beautiful ambient ender.

Earlier this year, Russell E.L. Butler released a big bang of a 12" with Spectral Sound. Now we have an impressive 2-track EP to follow up with some longer tracks released by Fixed Rhythms. 606 TRAX is comprised of two hefty cuts of bending, modular techno, with even a sparse vocal appearance on the B-side. These tracks were taken from a live set that they played in December 2019 at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. Mastered for full dance-floor capacity by Dietrich Schoenemann, this 12" is for those who love hypnotic, high-energy drum workouts and modular techno. This release is dedicated to the memory of Johnny Igaz.
