With a tickling electric charge spreading up to their tongues, the collaboration between felix kubin and the polish space jazz ensemble mitch & mitch continues with the release of this maxi ep. a tribute to sun ra and his arkestra, disco 2100 (the bridge) combines the music of their venusian dance track disco 2100 (1978) and the lyrics of the bridge (1968). re-enacting the theatrical character of sun ra's later pieces, the mitches and kubin cross the bridge from outer space in a slow advancing chant, guided by the compelling baseline of the original. a throbbing tribal disco which flashes like an intermittent pulsing colour. on the flip side, antarktis slow rock and hotel super nova - two kubin evergreens from the turn of the millenium - shine in a new arrangement by max knoth. while retaining the original vibe of the tracks, he clearly pays homage to the classical big band sound.

Live recording from ISSUE Project Room, 22 November 2009. Scott Haggart, Lary Seven and Felix Kubin further expand the territory of the original conceptual vinyl record, “1:17", a continuous and lifelong composition by Scott Haggart. The original edit was psychotopologically derived from a 0.7 millisecond recorded extract of sound from a concert performed by the then anonymous Scottish art collective, DISKONO (2000). It took many years for the artist to further superimpose and expand the 0.7 ms component into the original 1:17 second composition, which he describes as “a bombardment of fractal concrete sound.” Within a tradition of absurd spectrality and with the satisfactory feeling brought about by orchestrating a 1:17 secs long work (from 0.7 ms), it continues to be used as ongoing source material for new interpretations of the composition, 1:17. For this presentation, multimedia alchemist Lary Seven had a profane and undefined interaction that involved realtime 1/4” reel-to-reel tape manipulation, a bottle of wine and custom leather glove with Scott Haggart (original 1:17 12” vinyl, customized turntable, local mix) & Felix Kubin (samples, synths, master mix). The record is cut at 45 rpm by groove digger wizard, Rashad Becker.

Release:2014 / EU – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Hauntologically pop, fragile and with a twisted psychedelic Beach Boys side, this album shows an undeniable songwriting craft. Esa Shield's androgynous voice together with the use of guitars, keys and analogue electronics tends to weave "wrong" notes and submarine harmonies into songs that range from psych-folk ("Shelley Duvall") to dark ambient ("Jenkins Other") and super catchy space-age pop ("Monde Capricorn"). Now and then a nostalgic and contradictory bout of fever unexpectedly appears along the faded innocence of his music. Sometimes the words seem distant, as if heard through a dichroic looking glass. Ovum Caper is a trip through a dreamlike hallucinatory soundworld, which floats indefinitely "following the white baloonfish downstream", where "at night, all strawberry fields look blue."

Release:1998 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Electronic / Dance
"Enclosed by a beautiful silver, neon yellow and red colour sleeve, felix kubin's legendary debut "Filmmusik" has finally been reissued as a double lp. the bonus record features 7 extra tracks and musical sketches that didn't appear on the first version, among them a sleazy "Pornodisko" remix by Mense Reents (Egoexpress). Originally released in 1998, the album consists of two film soundtracks for Mariola Brillowska's animated cartoons "Katharin & Witt, Fiction & Reality" and "The Contr-Contras". The music balances the drastic contents of the films with a rather romantic mixture of 60's french film music, early new wave and electronic pop of the 90's, including some short original outtakes of the films."
