Unknown Archetype AKA Roxy Tripp & Oliver Kucera debut their visceral experimental techno for R&S on this three track EPUnknown Archetype is a collaborative project between Roxy Tripp, a British conceptual artist & music producer, and Oliver Kucera a Czech born Producer & Live performer, residing in the Netherlands. With an extensive background of solo projects in the underground scene, the duo began their collaboration together as Unknown Archetype in 2015.The TRIPP EP is an abrasive, visceral EP of electronic body music underpinned by themes of Jungian psychology, symbolism and mythology. The industrial tech funk of lead track Voyeurism kicks things off - skittering breakbeats, squalling filters and blistering snares pile-driving the listener into ecstatic submission, while ‘Tripp’ see the duo employing sizzling bursts of white noise and caustic percussion over a jagged rhythm box figure. Matters are pared right back for the rigid austerity of closer ‘The Serpent’ - the dubbed out lead stab quivers over a strobing 909 drum groove and scything cymbals.Effortlessly balancing deep late night sounds with a unique character and intricate headphone centric programming, the TRIPP EP is a fitting and welcome addition to R&S’s storied catalogue.

Okzharp and Manthe Ribane return with their second EP ‘Tell Your Vision', a call and response between Manthe's vocals and Okzharp's production. Both bring their unique energies to the mix, manifesting in a raw confidence of new moods and temperatures that were brought out from their first taste of touring and living on autopilot. The EP's title is a reference to its opener, ‘Teleported', which was created in Okzharp's car on an exploratory drive through London and inspired by the art and energy they came across. The track opens with a ferocious bass line, with Manthe's rumbling vocals rolling rhythmically over the top. She takes us with her as she lets the music possess her as if dancing; quickly spitting the vocals back out, urging the listener to "Tell your vision!”. A much more gentle and reflective turn comes on second track ‘B U'. Okzharp's slow and soft lullaby melody and Manthe's warm and inspiring lyrics tug at the heartstrings. In the upbeat and playful ‘Maybe This', Manthe's vocals flit between a hum that softly swells over the top of Okzharp's spacey melody, into an energised and bouncing rap. The EP rounds off with the warm anthem ‘Piki Piki', with the chorus sung in the South African Sepedi dialect. Okzharp's long synth lines draw us in with Manthe's vocals melting and blending into the track. ‘Piki Piki' has an unmistakably positive vibe, which becomes emphasised when Manthe switches to English, with lyrics that advocate self-affirmation and self-love.

* With 'Footwork Or Die', Chicagos own DJ Diamond returns to the spotlight with a strongly infectious and deep brand new masterpiece, a very worthy successor to his debut album 'Flight Muzik', originally released on the UK's Planet Mu Records in 2011. 2013 saw the release of a reloaded extended version of 'Flight Muzik' and now in late 2016 Duck N' Cover Records is very excited to have the opportunity to bring more of his outstanding music to the ears of a wide audience. * Already, with his first album DJ Diamond, aka Karlis Griffin, made clear that he is one of the Footwork scene's most original producers, with a very distinctive style of his own that is not repiclable. The epic quality and deepness of some of the brightest moments on 'Flight Muzik' is back and in some cases even topped with his second full length release. The most important factor that made DJ Diamond a local legend long before the debut album was available is the apparent musicality of his productions. The style lends itself also to outsiders, whilst not compromising on the frenzy that is needed to bring the Footworkers the necessary heat. A hybrid, only a genius mind can fabricate! * In 2016, DJ Diamond still stands out and shines with a bright light. Experience once again a beautifully sequenced album with stylish artwork for which Duck N' Cover Records is notorious for. A perfectly well balanced compilation of deep and hard hitting material, bearing the mark of a classic great album that will stand the test of time with a smile.

Both a necessary document of Marlon Silva’s early years and a crucial survey of Angolan kuduro’s formative phase and mutation in the clubs of Lisbon, the set collects nine cuts of contagious Afro-Portuguese dance music which maps strong parallels to the UK’s own transition and flux between grime and UKF, whilst also demonstrating why Marfox is now regarded as the main ambassador and catalyst for Lisbon’s colourfully influential and world-renowned style.Taking his name from Nintendo’s Starfox character (and establishing a trend for the -fox suffix so prevalent in kuduro and tarraxhina) DJ Marfox was instrumental in shaping one of today’s most vital dance scenes with a number of productions from his 17 year old self cropping up on ear-opening compilations such as the foundational DJs Do Guetto Vol.1 in 2006, and later on the Bazzerk - African Digital Dance Music set which turned a lot of DJs and dancers onto this sound. He’s subsequently released the first record on kuduro’s best alibi, Príncipe, and followed Visionist and DJ Rashad to release on J-Cush’s Lit City Trax, and has also appeared alongside his Lisbon crew on the Cargaa compilations for Warp Records. However, this set returns to his wildest early years; from the hyper disco-techno drive of Funk em Kuduro or the galloping darkwave-riding horsepower of Un Bes Bai from 2006; thru the killer jump-up downstroke of Sem Fronteiras or the inimitable, body-carving syncopation of Aiué Remix circa 2007-08, and his hollering A Própria with DJ Nervoso - which could almost be some ravenous Chicago house oddity - all of which illustrate the sound of a young producer firmly finding his feet and blazing a trail where others such as Arca, M.E.S.H. or Nidia Minaj would soon follow. Most of all though; it’s a proper dance record for summer and beyond, either as DJ tools or the soundtrack to backyard raves, BBQs and beach parties.

DJ Nigga Fox / Zutzut / Draveng / Bekelé Berhanu / HvadRabit’s Halycon Veil renders a crucial 6-track showcase of up-to-the-minute style and pattern associated with the rhizomic Janus crew; compiled by their mutual brethren, Jim C. Nedd and titled Conspiración Progresso after his Milan-based club night, Progresso.Scoping three debut vinyl appearances and spanning a dizzying breadth of idiosyncratic collage and rhythmic structures, the EP serves to illustrate the boundary morphing DJ aesthetics common to these far-flung comrades, both in their celebrated online mixes and IRL in front of the bass bins.A-side: Bekelé Berhanu follows a compelling 30 minute JANUS003 mix from 2015 with a tense, fractious collage of East African instrumentation, chants and bass detonations heard from an elevated, drone-eyed perspective in W.I.I.A; Copenhagen’s Syg Nok records ring-leader Hvad induces a juking motion sickness with the warp speed tilt and juddering pulse of Bleeding Grey Wall ; and Príncipe’s DJ Nigga Fox ft. Vipra contributes a squashed pressure system of slow, heaving, squeaky kuduro and Italian Progressive in Lento Violento.B-side: An Unknown operator squirts an Untitled piece of thrillingly sharp yet rugged quasi-electro dancehall chrome; Monterrey, MX producer Zutzut holds down dense mix of curdled, Autechrian harmonics and militant, latin drum cadence in the pitching slosh and bounce of Jala; the EP’s most minimal confection comes from Draveng with a writhing, muscle-tightening shuffle called Internal Debate that sounds like an insectoid Baby Ford trapped in a ketamine loop.Collected, Conspiración Progresso represents an imaginative cross-section of the contemporary dancefloor’s lesser-known, but no less than vital aspects: a new generation of club music lovers looking to advance, twist their art.

Akkord return with their first original music since June 2014’s ‘HTH020’ EP. ‘Obelisk’ is a study in rhythm and frequencies, suspended in space. On the minimalistic ‘Monolith’, a single element is moulded into a 3-dimensional sound sculpture, an aural illusion of a lead weight that floats away into the ether. In contrast, ‘Megalith’ has a pulsing gravity, drawing in laser-guided blasts of bass, broadsides of pitched-down jungle, and echoes of distant birdsong and telecommunications as it journeys through the static of space.

On the first side the tracks are beat driven; two tracks with distorted drum machine at 120bpm providing the bones for reflective harmonic and melodic parts that are reminiscent of Jungle or Breakbeat Hardcore. The second side of the record is a mini album in itself; seventeen minutes of beatless music in three tracks.

The music continues a refinement of his sound... which is in large part formula-less although there is something rich, spacious and minimal to it that ties his work together... his North American tour though last summer has seemingly made Jonny a bit bolder, a bit more extroverted with his compositions. Possibly because of the endless praise he receives after observers of his drum machine mastery pick their jaws up off the floor. Joining him on ''Pride and Joy'' is fellow British genius Deft and Angelika Arendt for Artwork.

Having already introduced the UK to Gqom back in 2015 — a variant of raw, stripped back South African house emanating from the city of Durban — London imprint Goon Club Allstars have tapped scene kingpin DJ Lag for an explosive four-track EP. Widely credited as one of the key players for shaping the Gqom sound as it exists today, Lag's eminence in South Africa is well-documented and on his new EP, he exhibits everything that makes it tick; fierce, powerful drums, mazy rhythms and bubbling club patterns. Like the sound he presides over, Lag's work is uncompromising, but emphatic — and designed to impact. Compiled from a vast back catalogue stretching back over four years, the EP showcases his sound to the fullest – from the bubbling sgubhu track, ‘16th Step', to the classic Gqom styles of ‘Ice Drop'. As with Rudeboyz debut Gqom 12” for the label in 2015, the EP also revels in a sense of discovery, boosted by a relationship between artist and label that goes way beyond the norm. More than prepared to put in the ground work, Goon Club Allstars have been proactive in reaching out to producers in SA over the last three years and, inspired by a shared love of the music, have played a key role in opening up Gqom to UK audiences.

Oceana
12" | 2016 | UK | Original (XL Recordings)
8,99 €*
Release:2016 / UK – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
London producer Dark0 has always created his music as a snapshot, a kind of journal, its sole agenda being to illustrate the thoughts, passions and frustrations of a given time and place. Previously releasing with tastemaker labels Lost Codes and Rinse, the 25-year-old’s debut for XL is the “Oceana EP”. “Oceana” describes the unstable relationship Dark0 shares with his environment, narrating the story of his city’s illusions of grandeur, mired by hypocrisy and a false sense of security. Dark0 weaves this narrative into a stunningly warm, sorrowful, yet optimistic sound creating a real cinematic journey for the listener. Dark0, who emerged as the pioneer of melodic, grime-referencing club anthems, breaks away from his previously known sound for his XL debut. Showcasing Dark0’s ease at creating tunneling melodic earworms defined by their punishing percussion and refrain, the “Oceana EP” journeys through love sick, dark-pop (‘Forever’) and total euphoria (’Luka’), before retribution (‘Plague’) and ending with ‘Heal’’s redemptive qualities. Having already gained praise from The Fader, i-D, FACT & Resident Advisor (“endlessly listenable”), Dark0’s “Oceana EP” cements the cult musician as one of the most skilled and revered producers London has today.

Since his debut 12" in 2007, Pangaea's music has existed in a continual state of metamorphosis. From the ghostly flex of his early singles into the rhythmic vortices of his self-released Hadal EPs, and now the mesmerising dance of In Drum Play, it's evolved into a freewheeling strain of ruffneck techno - one ear jacked into sound system culture, the other in the stomping nocturnal psychedelia of UK pioneers such as Surgeon. His DJ sets have developed in parallel, becoming fast-paced acrobatic voyages at the interface of loopy techno and more exploratory UK styles, an aesthetic captured on his 2014 mix for the Fabriclive CD series. As its title suggests, In Drum Play is a product of that feedback loop between the studio and the club. The devilishly funky intensity of tracks like 'Rotor Soap', 'More Is More To Burn' and 'DNS' emerged froma desire to write music that mirrored the late night dancefloor environments that McAuley has been DJing within. Crafted around sharpened motifs that burrow simultaneously into mind and body, they rank among his headiest and most forceful music to date.

Nascent London label Ex-Local announces its arrival with a new 5-track EP from South London talent Kxngs. With an extensive back catalogue that includes a release on the LA collective Soulection's imprint (as Kings in 2012) - as well as self-released album earlys & EPs that can all be found on his Bandcamp page - the 25-year-old Brixton resident has been winning admirers on his own terms whilst studying Sound Arts at the University Of The Arts London which offered him an escape from a year living homeless on the city's streets. The scope of Kxngs work on this EP draws on global travels, particularly Africa, as well as Deepak Chopra's ‘The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success’ - a book that Kxngs cites as having helped him "gain enlightenment and self-awareness, helping to not only focus on everyday life but also my creativity". The Earth Sign EP draws on Afrobeat, Kuduro, Hip-Hop, Trap and further influences from South America and the Middle East. This passion for exploring world cultures and to base his musical projects on his experiences with them informs all his work, and through basing his musical themes on different areas of the world Kxngs seeks to manifest his dreams and become author of his own story.Earth Sign will be the first release on Ex-Local - a new label born out of the London club night that shifts venue every party. With a core of local artists who became returning favourites that regularly had sweat pouring from the party's ceilings, the next logical step was to start a label to help bring this young, exciting & creatively adventurous new talent to wider recognition. First stop, Kxngs.

Release:2016 / Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Having repeatedly proven himself to be one of the UK's most innovative rising producers, Impey returns with his debut EP, 'Midnight In Little Havana', on the critically acclaimed Astral Black imprint. The release follows his 'BangClap' single which comes off the back of two prolific years that have seen the 20 year old producer crafting soundscapes for viral campaigns for Converse, securing a residency on NTS, tearing up radio sets alongside the likes of Faze Miyake, and having the likes of Skepta, Trim, Capo Lee and Rocks FOE bless his instrumentals on sets from Slimzee, DJ Maximum, Kahn & Neek, Murlo and Plastician. 'Midnight In Little Havana' sees Impey serving up a diverse five track collection that showcase his versatile production skills drawing influence from Grime, Jersey club and Vangelis-esque synthscapes. The EP is as much for the dance floor as it is the after hours bus home. At its centre is long time crowd favourite 'Bleepz' which finally sees its official release, having been a go-to track exclusively for DJs such as Boofy & Hi5Ghost and Kromestar. The track is framed by 130bpm dance floor melters 'Pep Talk' and 'Pong Song' as well as showing Impey's more intricate side through its title track and 'Inner', both of which resemble Astral Black releases by the likes of Drae Da Skimask and Jaisu moreso than its club-focussed vinyl releases. 'Midnight In Little Havana' is presented visually with another stellar effort from Astral Black in-house designer Oscar Whale; the 12" being housed in a full colour sleeve depicting an illustration of Miami's Little Havana strip, as detailed & nuanced as Impey's productions. 'Midnight In Little Havana' is set for release on October 14th on 12" vinyl & digital via Astral Black.

Fifty First Recordings was created in 1994 out of a small but very productive studio in London called State 51 using the down time and the very talented engineers who had been brought together for State 51's existing clients. State 51 was the go to Studio for the likes of X-press 2, Sharp, Amalgamation Of Soundz. The engineers we worked with included Mark Woolford, James Brown, James Reynolds & Mark Yardley. Fifty First Recordings soon found a name for itself and was very quickly at the forefront of the new generation of UK Garage music. We produced and released music in the 90's, for over 7 years, with the likes of Tuff Jam etc. and later went to develop other imprints such as Konnect / Test Press / Unda Vybe / Spread love / Tick etc., some in partnership with producers and managed artists. This is the first release from Fifty First Recordings archives. Future releases will include tracks from other labels in the 51st stable including previously un-released mixes!

Berlin-based Obstacle Records returns for its second release with another EP that draws on UK garage heritage while offering its own fresh take via a trio of newer names to watch out for. The EP’s original track comes from Lesus - a hitherto unknown name that splices its stripped down Ghost-esque rhythmic backbone with an uneasy chiming melody. The A2’s remix from Obi - another name to keep track of - retains the pace & 2step stylings of the original while combining it with a Chicago house sensibility. On the B side we find two alternate versions from the mysterious Prince of Ethiopia. The 808 version mutates the track into a old school hip hop instrumental, with the aforementioned 808 sounds to the fore, replete with vocal samples, record scratches and ray guns. The MT40 version takes those elements, loses the snarling bassline, and pins it all to a broken beat rhythm, once again underlining Obstacle’s reverence for UK dance music culture & its desire to push it into surprising new territory.

Rabit’s unpredictable Halycon Veil imprint trigger a quartet of reticulated grime and noise mutations from London-based Anthoney J Hart a.k.a. Imaginary Forces,.And What? locates Imaginary Forces at his most brutal, disciplined, continuing to draw on his British heritage with signals to the ghosts of ‘90s/‘00s pirate radio on one hand, whilst signing to early electronic masters and literary references on the other - creating something new, visceral and more immediate than his previous releases in the process.Upfront, the swarming concrète jungle militancy of And What? sets a scorched aesthetic steeling the body for Chat ‘Bout?’s pavement-cracking hooves and atonal buzz, before cannily conflating the atmospheres of pirate radio and J.G. Ballard with the eviscerating intensity of High Rise.Down below, Make Ends Meet trades an instrumental grammar of glottal grime galvanised with glossolalic noise texture, and the Makes Ends Meet (London Something Version) whips those same elements into a strobing vortex of UK-style footwork rufige. This is Imaginary Forces’ 5th 12” to date, following editions for his Sleep Codes label, Fang Bomb and Bedouin Records, plus a CD with Entr’acte between 2014-2015. It’s scheduled for release around the same time as his mighty Basic Rhythm LP for Type Recordings.

incl. Brassica RemixThe giant energy of an early 90s rave meet classic hip hop beats straight from the dusty SP-1200 on Cazion's debut record: "Rap music runs very deep in my veins; by the time I was fourteen I was making mixtapes and obsessing over the huge, funky, bombastic sounds of late eighties hip hop," says Cazion's Photocall. "I still aspire to capture the snap and the bigness of the kind of sound you'd hear on a Paul C record, a Public Enemy record, and I still use the the same machines those guys used to do it," he adds, gesturing at the wealth of vintage gear cluttering his retro spaceship of a studio, The Escape Pod. "When you hear the first bar of this song, you might expect some dude with a cameo flattop to start rhyming about the Benzi Box in his Suzuki Samurai at any moment." "We wanted to take it all the way," adds Maheras, from the depths of a glowing neon couch. "Some people shy away from using certain sounds because they're afraid to sound cheesy - but they forget to have fun. I'd rather have so much fun making a song that I forget to worry." "Like the dancers we sampled," Photocall agrees. "The vocal snippets are from a British video that was shot on New Years Day, 1993, the morning after a giant rave. It's the middle of some field, people are pushing their cars out of the mud, and this one couple is still dancing their asses off. They don't care that there's no music playing; they're totally in the zone. My man DJ Duane happened to send us the link as we were programming the drums for this record, and something just clicked. We knew we were making this record for those two crazy kids, wherever they are. Possibly still in that field."

Following a slew of snapped-up releases on Optimo Music, Soul Jazz / SOTU, Huntleys & Palmers and Akashic Records – which saw the band meld the worlds of acid-house, leftfield disco, EBM, dub and afrobeat – Golden Teacher have redrawn the boundaries of their sound yet again, giddily embracing jacked-up UK funky, dancehall, musique concrète and further tripped-out stylings from the badlands of Escocia. Slithering, rattling and snapping like a snake with a toothache, this EP is further proof that Golden Teacher are one of the most infectious and unhinged dance acts around at the moment. The beat maker has astute taste, and a willingness to break boundaries which can only come from experience.A digital release on Mele's Quandrants imprint last month helped introduce the producer's new alias, with a full 12 inch set to drop shortly.'Armshouse' EP is a dextrous four tracker, fusing glistening techno production to sub-low adventures and the odd nod towards grime's jagged rhythmic sense.Clash is able to premiere the title cut and it's a subtle electronic workout. Matching a continually expansive techno flow to a cutting, almost funky riddim, this is impossible to define yet could only emerge from the UK's soundsystem territories.

Keysound Recordings are excited to announce the return of one of their most elusive and celebrated acts, LHF. After a trio of vinyl EPs and a cult 2012 double debut album the clan disappeared to regroup. Now in 2015 they have emerged with an EP of dark rolling beats featuring Hackney's legendary Ragga Twins. In true clan style, the Ragga Twins vocals were less recorded, more unearthed from an unlikely source dating back many years. The Hackney jungle pioneers gave LHF their blessing and the EP was born. The vinyl art, shot by Keysound photographer Nico Hogg, was shot in the heart of the 2011 London Riots. Consisting of core and satellite sounds, LHF have built an alternate sonic platform upon which they can operate freely; familiar in essence but essentially an unknown quantity – harbouring both ghostly memories and echoes of past underground movements since faded as well as glimpses of what might be.

Cooly G returns with ‘Wait 'Til Night’, an album of sensitive, lo-fi bedroom music, it’s lyrics sketching dreamy scenarios of seduction, lust and sex. The moody South London house of her debut album 'Playin Me' and her DJ sets has given way to a near-horizontal, sometimes melancholy and highly original take on R’n’B. The tracks swing effortlessly with no-fuss musical arrangements that are filtered through reggae sound system culture and US R’n’B in equal amounts, with a slight hint of dark synthpop wound throughout. The pace has come down from the deep, tribal house she's known for so far, with the only constants that run through the album – her intimate vocals and smokey synths – cross-hatched with her characteristic broken rhythmic sense.

Kyle Hall back on Hyperdub for our 10th Anniversary? - Yes please. In fact this is more or less a long delayed EP from the vaults, recorded around the same time as his 2010 ‘Kaychunk’ EP … which just goes to show how ahead of the curve the young Detroit producer is. Starting with 'Girl U So Strong', the track riffs on a distorted arpeggiating bassline, seasick organ and a dubbed out voice, and a flicking metronomic note, starting slowly before shuffling drums give the track some rhythmic focus. Soon a warm melody builds over some happy arpeggios, and the whole track feels like a product of brilliant spontaneous energy. 'Take Me Away' works an 8 bit bassline, bleeps and throbs into an off beat shuffle over a pulsing bass drum, loose and happy, dosed with sunshine and space.

Fatima's debut album is called ‘Asiatisch’, and as the track titles suggest, the record provides a simulated road trip through an imagined China. Musically, the album is an homage to that quietly influential sub-strain of grime, often loosely termed 'sinogrime' due to its preoccupation with Asian motifs and melodies, pioneered by the likes of Wiley and Jammer at the beginning of the 2000s in East London. 'Asiatisch' is a provocation which asks more questions than it answers. The title is the German word for Asian. Unlike its title, however, the music on 'Asiatisch' revolves around the fantasies of East Asia as refracted through pulpy Western pop culture, in particular Hollywood, literary fiction, music, cartoons and advertising. Fatima asks what is meant by the term 'Asian' in a digital age of viral interchange and the hi-speed trading of cultural bytes; the concept of 'shanzhai' proves pivotal, a term whose meaning stems from a wild, out of control zone of banditry, but which has come to be used to refer to the Chinese counterfeiting of Western brands and goods. While a number of producers have made takes on 'sinogrime' over the last few years, 'Asiatisch' is really the first record that attempts to articulate this weird complex of sonic interchanges between the West and China.

Logos is member of two emerging underground collectives – new school grime specialists Boxed and the Keysound Recordings’ 130bpm family – it gives you a rough sense of his whereabouts. Logos is a junglist but this is not a jungle album. He’s a grime head but this is not a grime long player. This is an excursion in the dissolutions of forms and edges; of the elongation of patterns into repetitive plateaus of intensity. The album bristles with tension: for the “Cold…” component it is like he dissolved the intros of a thousand darkside jungle 12”s and dripped them into his analog hardware.

The music on the new album is by turns meditative, violent and evocative; glassy and earth-shattering. Here sound-design and song-writing are one and the same - Egyptrixx stretches a DX7 to its limits, its shuddering hits deployed throughout. 808 and Simmons drum machines pound extreme-metal blastbeats, then disappear into gaseous SFX, a rockpool in a virtual cavern. Digital choirs intone and beautiful synths envelop everything. Necessary forays into club territory on lead 12" cut "Water" and the tribal locomotive "Alta Civilization" are seamless, their akinness to Techno or EBM feels incidental to this record's greater experience, though DJs may definitely disagree. Looking back, "Bible Eyes" now seems like a wide open expanse, while "A/B till Infinity" lets its listener hover with it in the eerie synthesised twilight depicted on its cover.

The EP’s title track begins with glassy, plinking synths that Segway into a rollicking, stuttering beat. Pitched up vocals lend a 90s throwback vibe to this fun, uplifting number. Hotly tipped New York producer Octo Octa (100% Silk) cools down the original with loads of house flavor and his own pristine melodies. On the B-side, “Release”, is a towering, glacial epic pushed along by a lurching, pulsating bassline and sensual, shifting vocals. Closing out the record is “Sulaco Squares”, a taut, careful arrangement packed to the brim with colorful melodies and arpeggios.

Following in the footsteps of Zomby's Where Were U in 92?, Texan producer Matt "Wheez-ie" Mauldin—who debuted with All Werked Up, an EP of ravey juke on Well Rounded Individuals last year—has now turned his hand to British hardcore and acid house, and proves very adept at it.
