The single runs on 33 1/3 rpm. Goldmin founder Romain Lanteaume aka EinKa meets Terrence Dixon for a 2nd record which is nothing but a logical suite to the one released last year. This one is probably less deliberately "dark" but to us The Edge was not dark at all, like what we tend to call melancholy isn't obviously a negative feeling. We believe there's no real duality between things and states.. There's an incredible amount of degress in between.. It's always a bit more complex and deeper than the first impression!

Ian Simmonds is one of the most creative Nu-Jazz/Downtempo producers of the last 20 years. Although these words can´t describe his music properly as the man is always looking for an innovative sound that could cross the boundaries of musical styles. 6 years after his last album, this long awaited new LP sees the man getting back to his jazzy roots along irresistible moments of innocence, a slice of drama floating over a typical sound signature that only Ian knows the secret of. This whole life experience and amazing devotion to his music results in an outstanding album, proper Simmonds style in a quite evolving way. this is not just a collection of tunes that go along well.. This is a long-player album in the truest sense of the word. "The right side of kind" is a personal journey. A fully conscious, almost subversive work of art that could be dedicated to the eternal dreamers, the black sheep only able to do something their own way, able to feel beauty and singularity in almost everything, even in the less significant details of daily routine despite the complexity and nonsense of the world we live in. Ian gets to express himself in the most spontaneous and poetical way possible, as if he was thinking out loud, straight from the heart through a finely-shaded, nearly subliminal speech. There is absolutely no certainty in this LP, not more than into this artist. Only a lot of relevant queries, a permanent questioning and this humility could be heard all along the album.
