Cameron Stallones aka Sun Araw is the quintessential contemporary cosmic courier. Emerging from the fumes of an ancient Egyptian civilization and now settled in one of the meccas of the American lysergic experience, Austin, Texas, our hero boasts an endless discography and collaborations with luminaries of the caliber of Laraaji (a solo new age traveler discovered by Brian Eno) and the legendary Rastafarian group, Congos. For the soundtrack of the feature film 'Guarda In Alto', directed by Fulvio Risuleo (the daring story of a baker who has access to a parallel universe on the roofs of the city) Sun Araw looks towards the possible horizons. Bypassing psych and electronic glitch, Sun Araw jets through a double album that seems to refer to the golden age of computer music as well as to the inventions of the Lovely house (the legendary New York label specializing in minimalism and 20th century avant-garde) and to a certain immeasurably psychotic dub aesthetic. A disk composed of many micro-cells, which marries the adventure to the 'edge of heaven' of the protagonist, reiterating that dreamy feeling that the protagonist has accustomed us to for several years now. Available on CD or 3-sided 2LP with etching on the 4th side.

Edda Dell'Orso (born Edda Sabatini, February 16, 1935) is a legendary Italian singer who has long been the vocalist of choice for the Maestro Ennio Morricone. She has provided vocals, often wordless singing, to countless Morricone scores beginning in the mid-1960s and most famously for the immortal score to Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly). This collection compiles, for the first time in one place, many of her finest performances for Morricone, including such legendary films as C’era Una Volta Il West (Once Upon A Time in The West), Cosa avete fatto a Solange? (What Have You Done to Solange?), and the aforementioned The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The Goodfellas OST label, in conjunction with GDM, is pleased to present this one of a kind collection that highlights the unique talents of Edda Dell'Orso with her longtime collaborator, Ennio Morricone. The Maestro has long been acclaimed for his brilliant use of vocals in his scores and none of that would have been possible without the work of the Dell'Orso, who has been behind the scenes of his finest work for 5 decades.

A journey inside the Sicilian chromosome of jazz, forgotten by the official history; the incredible story of a Sicilian who became the world's first man in Jazz.Sicily Jass - The world's first man in Jazz is a film directed by Michele Cinque, about the life, the music and times of Nick La Rocca, a son of Sicilian immigrants, a self taught cornet player and leader of the Original Dixieland Jass band, the New Orleans based combo which eventually recorded the first Jazz record, in New York, in 1917.Moving between fiction and documentary, while travelling from a timeless Sicily through New Orleans past and present, the film follows the infectious rhythms of early Jazz and goes deep into an introspective journey narrated by the voice, the gestures and the puppets of Sicilian master Mimmo Cuticchio. Thanks to the special contribution of historians and Jazz critics and along with the discovery of precious archive materials, the film will give the audience the chance to re-live both the incredible success and the sad decline of La Rocca and his fellow musicians. The voice of Nick La Rocca himself, caught in a hitherto unpublished interview, together with the intimacy of the tale of Nick’s son, Jimmy, will lead the viewer to discover why La Rocca and his men are often forgotten within the official history of jazz. Needless to add that Sicily Jass comes with an amazing soundtrack, curated by Mark Berenford and carefully remastered by Nick Dellow. The accompanying CD features the ODJB's historical 1917 recordings, along with a selection of extra tracks by illustrious contemporaries such as Louis Armstrong, Joe Venuti, Bix Beiderbeck, Fletcher Henderson and others, amazing recordings from the beginning of jazz, over 100 years old. Mark Berenford who also curated the extensive liner notes, is considered one of the most respected experts and most passionate collectors of early Jazz and Blues. Since 1990, Mr. Berenford has been the editor of Vintage Jazz Mart, the world’s leading means for buying and selling rare Jazz and Blues 78's.

LP | 1976 | EU | Reissue (Goodfellas)

Genre:Film / TV
Originally released in 1976 the soundtrack composed by Armando Trovaioli (famous for standard jazz records such as ‘Trovajoli Jazz Piano’ and soundtracks including ‘Sesso Matto’, ‘C'Eravamo Tanto Amati’, and ‘The Beat Generation’ to name but a few) highlights the composer’s skills in this amazing dark humor comedy directed by Ettore Scola. The movie was awarded the Prix de la Mise en scène at Cannes Film Festival in 1976.Down & Dirty was originally titled Brutti, sporchi e cativi in Italy. That translates literally to "dirty, nasty and bad", in reference to the lower-class characters and surroundings in this Ettore Scola film. Scola zeroes in on a particularly offensive Roman family. The stingy patriarch, Nino Manfredi, is personally wealthy but morally bankrupt, and his repulsive view of life trickles down to every member of his clan. Not content with corrupting his own flesh and blood, Manfredi spreads his philosophy throughout his village, where he functions as slumlord. By the time Manfredi's wife and sons begin plotting his murder, the audience is ready for a long, cold shower, with plenty of soap. The music is full of dramatic breaks and loose grooves. Available on vinyl again for the first time since its original release.

He is aware of the illicit careers and rise to riches of many of his clients. He decide to start a new life: new clothes, new cars, new women. His "new look" begins discreetly, a few small robberies in supermarkets, progressing to more important fraud. Goodfellas is proud to announce the release of Mokadelic's new album. Mokadelic is considered the best Italian psychedelic-post-rock collective, a powerful band influenced by both the great Italian soundtrack composers of the sixties and seventies, and by today's bands such as Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in The Sky.After years of experience in the field of film music, including collaborations with directors such as Gabriele Salvatores and Stefano Sollima, Mokadelic became world famous thanks to their original soundtrack to the Italian TV series, Gomorra. That soundtrack was an emotionally intense musical narrative, including both spacious, melancholic atmospheres and extremely dense climaxes, all inspired by the TV series' haunting realism.Mokadelic's new release appears to be their first stand-alone album in ten years; the first piece of work with no connections to film soundtracks or other special projects. A highly dense double set of music including a first volume of post-rock oriented soundscapes, strategically followed by a heavy, electronics inspired second chapter.

A political statement, so to speak. The movie directed by Giuliano Montaldo in 1971 focused on the unfortunate events leading to the death of Italian immigrants Sacco & Vanzetti. The score was composed by Maestro Ennio Morricone and featured two exclusive tracks sung by legendary singer/songwriter Joan Baez (“Here’s To You” & “La Ballata di Sacco E Vanzetti”) . This is one of the most classical oriented scores composed by the Maestro, with large strings arrangements and classical guitar parts.

Recorded live at the Chicago Free Jazz Festival in 1988 and originally broadcast by National Public Radio, this performance features Sun Ra's Arkestra back in Chicago, almost 30 years after he first left for the fertile grounds of NYC, before settling in Philadelphia. It was in Chicago that Ra recorded some of his most legendary material for his own Saturn label, and it is one of the town's where Ra is clearly most comfortable and free, and this performance is indicative of that. An incredible live performance from the Arkestra, one of the longest running and most innovative groups of the 20th century.
