Finally, an important void in Guido & Maurizio De Angelis’ discography is filled. After nearly 40 years since its theatrical release, one of the most long-awaited scores for the fans of the two Roman musicians is now available! Directed in 1982 by Michele Lupo and starring Bud Spencer and Jerry Calà, the movie tells the story of an ex-pugilist who is given the chance to amend an old wrong he suffered while supporting the cause of a young athlete’s gym. For this soundtrack, the two Maestros build a score based on the theme “Fantasy,” a very popular cue held dear by generations of cartoons lovers since this melody is also the Italian main title of Galaxy, the famous cartoon that follows the adventures of two heroes onboard a space train. Another theme is the Italian answer to the Philadelphia Rocky fanfares composed by Bill Conti few years before, a cue that keeps an epic and sporty tone but more in line with the comedy aura of that movie. Also present are other cues synchronized with the movie’s key scene, as variants of the two main themes or as alternate solutions. The CD is presented as a deluxe edition in the DDJ DLX series, mastered from the original elements which gave life to more than 50 minutes of music, remastered by Enrico De Gemini and arranged in film sequence with the addition of some bonus tracks and outtakes. Includes a full-color, 12-page booklet with liner notes by Daniele De Gemini and original artwork painted by Renato Casaro, kindly granted by the artists.

Right after La Polizia Incrimina, La Legge Assolve (High Crime), the magic duo of Italian poliziotteshi conceive yet another highlight of the genre - the groovy, melancholic score of Milano Trema: La Polizia Vule Giustizia (The Violent Professionals, 1973), which perfectly sets the tone of metropolitan violence presented on the screen. A dramatic sound, which preludes the acid-prog and gloomy music created for Il Grande Racket (The Big Racket) just three years later, with lots of flutes, clavinet, frenzied percussions, deep basslines and experimental effects.
The result is a disturbing atmosphere of suspence, always on the verge of exploding in deep piano notes that highlight the most violent moments of the film. With the main theme “Blue Song”, repeated several times with endless instrumental variations, the De Angelis brothers set a dark-romantic atmosphere which becomes a manifesto of disenchantment and the perfect accompaniment for the detective story.
Four Flies Records, in collaboration with Bloodbuster Edizioni, is proud to present the complete soundtrack for the first time on vinyl (only the two songs of the movie were published before on a 7''-inch by RCA), featuring exclusive liner notes by the film's director, Sergio Martino.

Maybe the most iconic soundtrack by Guido &
Maurizio De Angelis. Definitely the one that is
closely linked with Italian crime movie genre
“poliziotteschi”, made eternal by dozens
movies set in mid 70's violent big cities.
For the 50th anniversary of Beat Records, a
coproduction with Four Flies, the first time
ever reissue of this Italian soundtrack's
masterpiece.
A terrific tracklist that gave rise to the Italian
groove, then used many times, from Umberto
Lenzi's Napoli Violenta to Quentin Tarantino's
Death Proof.
A groundbreaking and hard-beat sound,
innovat ive compared to others I tal ian
soundtracks of the period. An acid rock with
funk episodes (Gangster Story), cinematic prog (The Life of a Policemen), magical bossa
(Casa di moda), with psychedelic flutes (by Guido), sublime guitars and arrangements (by
Maurizio).

After Franco Micalizzi had written the music for the first Trinity movie and Guido & Maurizio De Angelis for its sequel, the two musician brothers were recruited again to write a new original score that was issued in those days on an LP (Smash SM 901) with 12 tracks and a duration of about 27 minutes and also on a 45 rpm single (Smash SM 6001) with two tracks. We have searched for the original recording session master tapes which were recently rescued in very good condition and in full stereo: this gave us the chance to add six bonus tracks not included in the original vinyl (duration about 41 minutes). A note for collectors and audiophiles: For this ultimate edition we did not use the album master assembled in 1972, but we were able to recreate the original album mock-up's sequence/editing with all the takes taken directly from first generation stereo session tapes. And this new version has a really improved sound quality. The main theme is called "Don't lose control", a romantic-epic theme with country-pop flavour performed by Gene Roman and reprised as an instrumental version played by a large orchestra. The De Angelis brothers have succeded in recreating the whole Western atmosphere by alternating classic Western-flavoured themes with soft ones like the romantic love theme “Tema di Candida" or "Jesus come to my heart", a Gospel with sacred flavour vocalized by the Nora Orlandi choir.

Digitmovies presents on CD and LP the original motion picture soundtrack by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis from the movie “The tiger is still alive: Sandokan to the rescue” (“La tigre è ancora viva: Sandokan alla riscossa”).
At that time a 45 rpm single was issued (Rca BB 6135) featuring two tracks, for this LP we have used the stereo master tapes found in the Rca vaults. After a slow and solemn strings introduction of the “Sandokan theme”, the new main theme is presented, for big orchestra and of epic flavour called “Ritorno a Mompracem” (Tr.1 - side B). This theme is reprised with several variations: with mandola and strings (Tr.4 - side A), slow and mystic (Tr.6 - side A, Tr.4 - side B), with flute, mandola and bells (Tr.6 - side B) and in vocal version (Tr.1 - side A). The score is also enriched with very rhythmic action music like Tr.3 - side A, Tr.2 - side B, Tr.5 - side A e Tr.7 - side B, and of ethnic flavour (Tr.7 - side A). The Sandokan theme is reprised with an atonal way with reverberated harps in Tr.3 - side B. Although a digital restoration occurred some audio anomalies (pre-existing on the original sources) remain.
Mompracem villagers are scared and left hungry by the ferocious Sultan Abdullah, a sovereign cowardly and cruel, serving the British. Jamilah, a young woman, returns to Mompracem to call the old 'tigers" to battle, but is hunted by the sultan's guards and is about to be killed, but she was saved by the Greek adventurer Teotokris. The latter decides to help her, making a long journey to India in search of Sandokan, sheltering there to convince him to resume his fight against the British.

Digitmovies releases for the very first time on CD and LP the complete edition in full stereo of the OST for the Italian cult TV series "Orzowei" which was composed by the prolific brothers Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. Based on the novel “Orzowei” written by Alberto Manzi and issued in 1955, the story was adapted into 13 episodes of an international TV hit series wich was produced in 1976 by Italian and German companies. It was directed by the French filmaker Yves Allégret and starred Peter Marshall as Isa / Orzowei, the British star Stanley Baker, Doris Kunstmann, Vincenzo Crocitti, and Bonne Lubega. This TV program was broadcasted in Italy in early 1977 and presented again with version especially re-edited for cinema theaters called "Orzowei - il figlio della savana” (“Orzowei - Son of the Savannah”).
Isa, a white child abandoned in the forest of South Africa, is found and raised like a son by an old great warrior and by an old woman, both of them belonging to the Swazi people, an ethnic grouping of the Bantu tribe. Due to his white skin he is jokingly called Orzowei, “the found”. After his escape from the Swazi village, he takes refuge to a forest where he is adopted as a son by Pao, the sage man of a Bosciman tribe. At the end Orzowei will really have to fight against the Swazi, the people who had brought him up as a child, and to defeat Mesei, his arch enemy.
In those days only one single was issued: RCA BB 6054, a very big international record hit. This CD has been possible thanks to the stereo master tapes which have been well preserved in the RCA archives. Concerning "Orzowei" besides the 45 rpm single versions “Orzowei” and “Le notti di Orzowei” we have also added alternate takes of the famous theme song like a different mix, the instrumental version, an evocative version with an echoed solo flute, the very cool karaoke version, an alternate take of “Le notti di Orzowei” without flute (all the original material discovered on the master tapes, if we consider that possibly in the TV series library music was re-used). Only recently we were able to discover on another mastertape three extra alternate takes that with big joy we include in thi very new re-issue. A OST of the ’70s Italian TV CULT which we absolutely wanted to rescue and preserve to honour the musical art of Guido & Maurizio De Angelis.

Now for the first time on vinyl, Four Flies Records is proud to present an unmissable Eurocrime soundtrack by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis, composed in 1976 and considered to be one of the genre’s finest offerings directed by Enzo G. Castellari. Perhaps the most forceful OST from the Italian duo, Il Grande Racket consists of fuzz distortion and electronic effects from the beginning to the end. This sonic gem is also enriched with psychedelic flutes, obsessive rhythms, and percussion which results with a totally prog-rock and psych-funk score that perfectly describes the main elements of the film: action, tension and violence. Remastered from the original master tapes preserved for decades in the C.A.M. archives, and augmented with exclusive liner notes by Davide Pulici (Nocturno Cinema) and stunning original artwork created by Luke Insect, this edition will be a true pleasure of the senses for any and all soundtrack lovers.
