Quicksails - Mortal
Quicksails
Mortal
LP | 2016 | US | Original (Hausu Mountain)
15,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Ben Billington has devoted a decade of his life to Chicago’s overlapping scenes of experimental DIY, electronic music, and free jazz as a part of seminal outfits including Tiger Hatchery, ONO, and ADT. His solo music under the Quicksails moniker compresses his mastery of synthesis and percussion into dense electro- acoustic compositions animated by stacked layers of rhythm and alien texture. Mortal, his first LP for Hausu Mountain following releases on labels like Spectrum Spools, NNA Tapes, and Captcha, finds Quicksails piecing together some of his most complex compositions to date, steering his network of synths, samplers, and acoustic instruments through conflicting emotional territories as a means of personal catharsis and abstracted self expression.

Release:2015 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
As droplets of data rain from The Cloud, Alex Drewchin (Guardian Alien) embeds another digital seed into the soil & watches the vines unfold according to their own feral algorithms. The files ripped from her devices duplicate through electronic pollination & drift from ear bud to ear bud. These are layered electronic productions possessed of enough detail to constitute stand-alone worlds, each weighted thick with text & texture.
Fire-Toolz - Skinless X-1
Fire-Toolz
Skinless X-1
LP | 2018 | US | Original (Hausu Mountain)
19,99 €*
Release:2018 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Fire-Toolz is one musical moniker used by a consciousness that has taken the physical form of a transfemme non-binary human named Angel Marcloid. Though her work fits under the wide umbrella of beat-focused electronic production, Fire-Toolz sculpts her tracks from warped signifiers of genres including jazz fusion, electro-industrial, new age, black metal, vaporwave, and noise improv. Far from a passing tourist cherry-picking the juiciest chunks of each of these traditions, Angel has worked through an improbably rigorous musical self-education that seems to compress several entire discrete lives into one: a teenage student of prog and metal, tracing the linear compositions of Rush and Dream Theater on drums, then guitar and bass, then keyboards; touring the country at the front of multiple emo bands before touring the country for years again under myriad monikers in the harsh noise circuit; falling headfirst into the internet abyss of mangled smooth jazz samples and ultra high-resolution sound design. Each of these skillsets and memories collide in the production of Skinless X-1, as sketches of knotty fusion complexity untangle themselves before our ears, only to melt seconds later into hard-panning clouds of alien texture or pads of angelic synth.
ADT - Insecurities
ADT
Insecurities
LP | 2018 | US | Original (Hausu Mountain)
17,99 €*
Release:2018 / US – Original
Genre:Organic Grooves
ADT channels tones and strategies from the free-jazz, electronic, and psych/noise rock vocabularies into ecstatic improvised sessions bursting with fractured rhythms and abstracted melodic lines. The Chicago-based quintet treks into Lynchian lizard jazz and twisted groove meditations as washes of drone texture, peals of static noise, and consonant synth figures swirl around and within each jam.
Brett Naucke - Multiple Hallucinations

Multiple Hallucinations
Tape | 2017 | US | Original (Hausu Mountain)
8,99 €*
Release:2017 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Brett Naucke's Multiple Hallucinations distills the Chicago-based artist's extensive experimentation with modular synth systems into a rapid-fire program of high resolution textures and layered networks of rhythm. Fine grain washes of drone billow behind webs of percussive clicks and snaps, as onomatopoeic squelches and baroque melodic structures pop into view for fleeting moments.
Mukqs - Walkthrough
Mukqs
Walkthrough
Tape | 2016 | US | Original (Hausu Mountain)
8,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Mukqs has released solo experiments that take his tactics of tape-loop mangling and sample manipulation honed in the trio Good Willsmith to new heights of noise collage abstraction. Walkthrough, Max Allison’s first full length release on Hausu Mountain represents another complementary branch of his work: layered synth compositions performed on hardware electronics, inspired by the tones of classic video game music. Recorded live as a single session presented without overdubs, Walkthrough finds Allison winding through a song cycle of day-glo square-wave leads, busy electronic percussion patterns, and washes of low-end drone. Mukqs meshes the emotionally resonant melodies and synthetic timbres of the soundtracks to Super Nintendo RPGs like Chrono Trigger or Earthbound with the strain of organic synth exploration practiced by the likes of Cluster or Emeralds. For Mukqs and many musicians of his generation, video game soundtracks served as a formative entry point to electronic music at a young age. Instead of merely bridging the gap between Mukqs’s musical upbringing and his current experimental practice, Walkthrough reveals that no such gap exists.

Genre:Electronic / Dance
Doug Kaplan wants you to be happy, to stare into the digital void, and to merrily prank you into a puddle of fractals. As MrDougDoug, he makes music to entertain and challenge in equal measure. The MIDI-contorting sci-fi opus SOS Forks AI REM represents his debut album of solo material on Hausu Mountain. While Doug continues to explore the possibilities of noise improvisation and guitar performance in the trio Good Willsmith and other projects, SOS Forks AI REM finds him harnessing his in-the-box production experience to create an album entirely using software instruments. MrDougDoug drudges up pre-existing MIDI files from the Internet Archive’s Geocities Collection and freemidi.org and overhauls them to suit his twisted tastes. Kaplan’s style of re-contextualization balances the spastic urges of John Oswald’s plunderphonic pop experiments with the attention to production detail and cyborg texture of Oneohtrix Point Never - all while maintaining a sense of reckless glee and mischief reminiscent of The Residents’ stable on Ralph Records. MrDougDoug imagines a future where speakers continue to shrink and shrink, from earbuds to phone speakers to biologically integrated playback devices sounding out of minuscule flesh amplifiers, blasting into the realms of unprecedented fidelities. SOS Forks AI REM, then, is what emerges from those pore-sized speakers. Each note overloads the device, and each track overloads the brain.
