"What is this? This is a floor-friendly house record with three cuts by DJ Central. If you're reading this, we feel it's safe to assume that you buy records. So yes, you can own this and bring it home to keep if you like. All you need to do is pick it up and spend that hard-earned money of yours. Why are we doing this? Because running a label is about releasing music and we felt like this was worth sharing with you. No pressure though - don't panic - take your time to decide. So whether you feel this three-tracker has found a new home or not, thanks for considering expanding your collection with a HELP record."

The new release from HELP presents works from various Help-releated artists. Another release from the Arhus-imprint that doesn't directly state "club-proof", but still, this one wouldn't mind having a spin or two by your local dance pusher. The opening track is by Central; a ripe house tune with both melodies and good-vibes - probably the closest this young man has come to making an anthem. Next up is the four piece group Maizena with an ambiguous rhythmical ambient-house jam from the area of Denmark with the least rainfall. On the b-side you 'll find a raw and to the point recording of DJ Sports and C.K joining pH 1 in his throwback techno-studio in the suburbs of Arhus.Next up is the long awaited debut from Manmade Deejay, who has been cooking a floating rhythm jam for this 5 course meal of modern danish cuisine. Last but not least Amsterdam-based KAAP joined Central on a fine day at Rubber Studios to create this dreamy and galloping ride. All in all this genuine piece of wax is filled with local devotion and love from the HELP-crew.

Genre:Electronic / Dance
New York is awash in emerging young dance producers of different stripes, and, with Your Go, the debut EP from Love Letters, a new name is added to the artists' community who together are revitalizing the long-dormant dance scene. Labels like L.I.E.S. and White Material have reveled in a youthful, raw sound, and Love Letters is no stranger to this, but his background in post punk and ambient music and his deep admiration for disco show through his sound clearly. The brief title track opens, the rolling kicks and submerged bass rebounding off each other and sending reverberations and the space signal bleeping in the distance. Drowned in amplifier hum and circling filter effects, 'Terraform' moves forward into melodic territory somewhere between Satie and Omar-S but keeps its noisy experimental edge intact. 'He Go' is a follow up to the title track, but extended and moving in splayed stance with staggered kicks, ratcheting up the tempo at the midpoint to bring an entirely different feeling and revealing itself as accomplished dub techno pushed onwards by insistent percussion. 'Put' cleans things up marginally but barrels into an off-kilter drum groove that centres itself gradually as it is joined by other voices - pads, deeply funky basslines, industrial atmospheres - developing in distinct sections for the longest, most complex piece on the EP.

With this compilation Aarhus-label Help Recordings presents a selection of electronic music, giving it the self-evident title 'Relevant Material'. On the first face, an uncredited weird intro is followed by two tracks from two debutants. The lofi energy of Brooklyn-based Love Letters is followed by a new-and-classical house-sound from SPORTS; the younger brother of the two label-heads. On the flipside older brother Central, who recently appeared on the the neighbour-label Nord Records, shows his calmer and more melodic side. The local group Lester, who did the first tape on the label, deliver a playful jam; a groovy exploration of machine dance music. The final grooves of the compilation reveal another uncredited sportive track.
