Bad Boy Chiller Crew is a bassline collective from Bradford in West Yorkshire. The group began by uploading comedy and prank videos online before making music influenced by the UK bassline scene which rose to prominence (particularly in the Yorkshire region) during the 2000s. In November 2021 the band could be seen in their own reality TV documentary, broadcast on Itv2. McGyver's smooth bilingual cross-over style has rooted globally in the past few years and was featured on radio shows by DJ Premier, Rapisouttacontrol and Chuck D's Pepr. Compost features a number of hardcore talents from across the globe, backed up by classic, gritty boom bap beats

McGyver is back in 2020 with "CARPE ORBEM" (Latin translation: Seize the World) following up on his 2019 album “MadmatiC”. His bilingual (English and Dutch) rhymes and unique harsh vocal sound, over hardcore boombap beats, topped by live instrumentation and killer scratches prove that there’s not one single artist like him.

This combination creates a stand alone record which conceptually revolves around the classic "The World is Yours" by NaS. Madmatic LP (2019, featuring production by
K-Def, Figub Brazlevic and others) already referenced to this classic once, but now McGyver returns to show the world a bigger picture and capture it while doing so - with even one of NaS - Illmatic’s original producers: Large Professor, on board.

The KlapYaHandz label, a long-running labour of love helmed by Sok Visal, has been at the forefront of a revitalization of contemporary Cambodian culture since the beginning of the 21st century; it was the very first independent hip hop label in Cambodia, nurturing an ecosystem of rappers, producers and engineers, male and female, fusing hard-hitting Khmer-language hip hop rhymes with samples of Khmer traditional music and Golden Age hits, propelled by relentless grooves.

Returning to his Cambodian homeland after a youth spent absorbing hip hop in France and the U.S., Visal’s energy and focus inspired a new musical generation; his love of Cambodian music as well as hip hop melded with his ear for jazz, funk and soul, and led to the creation of some very cool music from the artists he brought to his label. The 12 tracks on this CD are the very finest from the first decade of the KlapYaHandz galaxy. Hip hop, yes, but very definitely Cambodian hip hop, with traditional and Golden Age musical elements very prominent. Very cool, very Cambodian, very cosmopolitan, and very contemporary, but the past is always present, a love of musical history lighting the way forward.

40 Winks are known for their laidback atmospheres and vibes. However, after 5 years of looking for the perfect beat, they decided to break free from the usual mold and dive into the unknown for this project. Having reached listeners in different scenes and parts of the world, they decided to incorporate all those genres and styles into their own, to create an instrumental hip hop album in which the traditional boundaries of rhythms, tempos and sampling techniques are wildly stretched. Instrumental hip hop aficionado or not, music lovers are bound to find a treat in this one!
