Everyone knows the iconic Hip Hop anthem »Jump Around«. What about giving it the ultimate cover version twist by Japanese Jazz Trio Nautilus plus international artists Luvit from Japan, Flip (Texta) from Austria, Spax from Germany and MC Yinka from Greece who are spitting their rhymes in four different languages over it plus vinyl digger and producer Glueset who edited it to the perfect version? It took more than one year to get this project finished!

The flip side starts with the original version of »Rokucho«, a beautiful traditional Japanese song with dilla-esque beats by experienced Japanese singer Anna Sato and drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki from Nautilus. After that their song gets remixed by Berlin based duo Slick Walk (Merse & DJ Robert Smith) who give it a mysterious chopped up and laid back treatment to full effect.

After a long hiatus, Tokyo-based french producer Dela comes back with Électrique, a new project paying tribute to hip-hop legends André 3000 and Big Boi, known together as OutKast. This new 7inch record includes three tracks of Électrique : Yosky Wosky Pisky Wisky, Dimanche Matin, and the bonus track Cergy. Known for his laid-back, jazz influenced, dreamy rap instrumentals, Dela introduced his music to the world with his Atmosphere Airlines mixtapes and his albums Changes Of Atmosphere (2008) and
Translation Lost (2011). A student of Q-Tip, Pete Rock and J-Dilla amongst others, Dela’s work foreshadowed today’s increasively popular lofi hip-hop / chillhop movement. Side A features Yosky Wosky Pisky Wisky, a remix of Stankonia’s classic Humble Mumble,
featuring Eykah Badu. Dela changes the mood of the original track, mixing samples and live instrumentation together to turn a salsa-breakbeat groove into a melody infused otherworldly superfunk. On side B, Dela remixes Sole Sunday, a Goodie Mob featuring Outkast track, edited to feature only the two ATLiens and renamed Dimanche Matin. The beat is reminiscent of his early work, layering boom bap drums over a haunting saxophone melody. Also on side B, the bonus cut Cergy turns a Brazilian MPB sample into an ode to Dela’s hometown with the help of live drums, bass, electric keyboards and a few of his friends singing.

Rapper/producer Big Ben of Yamanashi's proud hip-hop group, stillichimiya, has released his first solo album “My Music ('12)” which includes "Party Never Ends" and an instrumental cover of Sun Ra!

The A-side 'Party wa Endless', featuring MMM and Dagaryu from stillichimiya, is a gorgeous party song filled with the rough excitement of stillichimiya as it is. The B-side features a fantastic instrumental cover of Sun Ra's "Love in Outer Space" with a vintage feel. Yo-Sea and HIYADAM’s single “Dreaming City” was a summer hit in 2020 - a relief to many spending a lot of their days propped up against walls, dreaming of the outside. The light, crisp star-gazing production of the a-side enveloped by Yo-Sea’s bouncing R&B vocals link up with HIYADAM’s style in natural harmony. Ever the collaborator to expand his horizons, the b-side of this 7” features a joint single with Taeyoung Boy on “ON Mission” where together they flex their trap intuitions, and call out to Travis Scott fans from the shores of Japan.

"io" is a rapper from the Tokyo based hip hop crew of Kandytown / Bcdmg. He is also active as a creator in the visual creating team called TAXi Films, and well known as a fashion model in Japan. This is the first-ever release as a single from his 1st album called "Soul Long" released in 2016. Included in the A-side is "Check My Ledge" featuring Yushi, who is brotherhood of Kandytown as MCs and passed away 2015, the classic tune of IO's solo career is slicked with produce work by Mass-hole. B-side includes a dope and mellow beats produced by Mr.Drunk (mummy-d) from Rhymester.

Aru-2 is Japanese hip hop beatmaker who has been a prolific creator of works since he debuted from Oilworks Rec in 2013. He also known for his track making contributions for other MCs such as Issugi, C.O.S.A., JJJ, NF Zessho etc. Of these, his collaboration album with lee (asano+ryuhei) was picked up by Pitchfork and received a glowing review. In 2014, Aru-2 and KID Fresino, who is from Fla$hBacks and one of the most successful MCs in the decade released a joint album called Backward Decision For Kid Fresino. This EP features the most popular track "Keep Rollin'" in the album and B-side includes an unreleased instrumental track "Radio Frequency On Issugi" for the first time.

With the motto “Quality House Music Never Betray”, Eureka! is announcing their 8th EP by Japan-based Rapper/Siger Coma-chi. The label’s very first 7″ analogue release will be the superb downbeat track ‘Water’ from one of Coma-chi’s album ‘Jomon Green’ released in 2018. The track features the LA trumpeter Josef Leimberg, who has performed with Erykah Badu, Funkadelic, Kamasi Washington, to name a few. Kaidi Tatham, a legend in the UK crossover and broken beats scene, takes charge of the label’s exclusive remix, creating an elegant new jazz/hip-hop remix that rivals the original.

The hit track "the Test" taken from Febb AS Young MASON's debut album "the Season" released in 2014 will be released on 7 inch! The Japanese Hip-Hop artist who passedawaysuddenly in 2018 at the far too young age of 24 is dearly missed, and his many talents really come to the fore on this glorious single. The B side is the unreleased track "for You" that was produced by Febb himself, and both tracks have been remastered by an engineer Naoya Tokunou who also worked Febb's "the Season --deluxe ''. In addition,the front artwork will be made by talented New York graffiti artist Chance Lord for just this EP. This is a classic of modern Japanese Hip-Hop.

Illmariachi is legendary Japanese HipHop unit who acitved in late 90's, formed by Hazu & Tokona-x. this is a single cut from their debut album "tha Masta Blusta" including two authentic classical tracks that are a high-concentration blend of the eccentric and crazy technique by Hazu and the hard-boiled hood rap by Tokona-x!

Favorite Recordings presents an exclusive collaboration between French producer Bruno ‘Patchworks’ Hovart (Voilaaa, Mr President, Taggy Matcher, …) and Australian NYC-based rapper and poet Nelson Dialect. The two artists met two years ago after Nelson’s gig in Lyon and, of course, they discussed and seriously planned to collaborate one day, both having an everliving love for early nineties hip hop. Then came the quarantine and Covid-19 with Patchworks locked in Lyon, Nelson Dialect in NYC: it seemed to be the right time to do it. A few months later and they finally drop Blue Benz, the result of their long distance collaboration, coming as a beautiful 7inch filled with proper Jazz & Soul Hip Hop vibes. On A side, « Blue Benz » reminds indeed the best feelings of the nineties hip-hop with its infectious slapped bass rhythm and subtle Rhodes chords, all fiiting perfectly with Nelson Dialect’s serious flow! On B Side, « Jazzy Blue Benz » offers an alternate take on the same groove, focusing more on the electric guitar gentle slides with a more percussive beat and horns arrangements with a proper NYC jazz feeling. From Adelaide, Australia, Nelson Dialect now lives in New York working with Bronx label Red Apples 45 started by AG of Ditc and Ray West. Making music since he was 16, he has received critical acclaim for his work with producer Must Volkoff and their most recent album Magnetism. Before moving to New York, Nelson toured extensively in Australia supporting some of the biggest international Hip Hop acts including Mobb Deep, Lupe Fiasco, Ghostface Killah, GZA, RZA, Pharoahe Monch and DJ Premier among many more. He just released a new album Opal Mind with French producer NuTone.

The longtime portuguese dj-producer DEDY DREAD lands on DJ’S CHOICE label for his first full-on original production. "Don't Wanna Wake Up" kicks off the collaboration with the soulful Hawaiian-born singer OLIVIA RUFF, a velvety warm r’n’b banger which will certainly tear through the airwaves. On the flip side, a “bikini-dub” version by THE REBEL - helped by the sax of Danilo Desideri (Funkallisto) - which will make you wish summer comes sooner rather than later. Fredfades & Sun Raw are keeping alive the gritty, analogue sound with 12-bit drums and loops with their own unique style. Fred has been working with KingUnderground for the last 3 years and has a flock of releases. Sun Raw from Stockholm, Sweden is new to the crew but about to drop his debut “Beat Weeks”. The duo are both part of Mutual Intentions crew and find inspiration from old music, from Jazz, funk, soul, rock and anything they find in the crates. Planet Asia has been affiliated with KU from early on with a release and some features. Some MC’s have been left behind, Asia isn’t one of those. He’s been kicking out better and better verses since he first showed up on the scene in the early 90’s and it doesn’t look like he’s stopping anytime soon. The pair are working on a collaboration album (currently untitled) to be released in 2017. This 45 is a taster of what to expect. This is a limited edition pressing run of only 300 units.
