Just three years ago, the urgency of recognising Amy Dabbs' talent was wide spread by Special Request, who included her track 'Allure' in his notable Splurgecore compilation. The word quickly got around, and since then her career has been a steep uphill trajectory, spanning releases on Lobster Theremin, sets at Hor Berlin, collaborations with the likes of Coco Bryce, and countless features on BBC Radio 1 Dance.

The Bobcat Special EP demonstrates why, and proves her stylistic ambidexterity as she strays from her signature jungle-focused sound in favour of one centred on house. Through the course of four tracks, Dabbs incorporates ravey piano chords, soulful vocals and bubbly melodies into fun, strutting rhythms.
