Item Description
The Saddlemen renamed into The Comets in 1952 and 'Crazy Man Crazy' might be the first Rock and Roll recording that charted (Billboard#15, Cashbox #11). The winter 1953/1954 brought the bands final recording session for Essex-Records and on April 1st 1954 the first recordings were made for the Decca Company in New York.

Then history was written, as "Rock Around The Clock" and "Shake Rattle And Roll" became instant hits and became blueprints for decades. For getting a piece of the hot cake, Essex re-issued the old recording of the band worldwide via the London-Company. The UK and german London 10" came with a solid yellow background and a sketched guitarplaying cowboy singing his stuff.

Completely different was the australian issue in 1955: Differend compilated and a completely different artwork with the wild bunch of musicians in a birdcage to show, how crazy this new kinda music was. But customers bought the records they knew from the radio and silverscreen so this little gem went into obscurity.

As it is still a very decorative wallhanger, it is still very driving hot music with the addition of two bonustracks.
