"NORITE strikes back with 'Hermeticism', a captivating EP by Kiev-based Bohdan. On remix duties are Taapion Records head-honcho AWB and deep techno priestess Hydrangea.
'Overflöd' starts off with subtle percussion variations and a muffled arpeggiated synth on top of a heady kick-bass combo, providing an almost aquatic sound. Filtered pads and horns add to the soothing atmosphere.
Whereas the original track develops organically, AWB choses a more looming version. Haunted choirs and broken beats lurk into darker territories. Gloomy accents are joined by a mix of hypnotic details taking the listener on an esoteric journey all the way through.
On the flipside, 'Cordova' is taking a slightly different route. A steady kick drum ensures an uplifting tempo, while the sub bass tempers with a deeper groove. Celestial and eerie synths provide harmonious ambient soundscapes.
Hydrangea’s take on 'Cordova' slowly takes off with a swift and reverbing snare drum on an oozing kick drum. Alongside droning noise washes, Hydrangea layers blissful and ethereal pads. With her stunning approach and unique sense of detail, the French producer offers a very compelling interpretation."
