Item Description

Ahorita Vengo is the second solo release from Nortec Collective founding member Clorofila, who's built upon the Tijuana based producer ensamble's trademark mix of electronic music with Norte and Banda music styles of the North of Mexico. While both of these styles became maligned in recent years as the recreational music of choice of the Mexican drug cartels, Clorofila shunned the questionable lyrical content of current Banda music, and went back to the genre's instrumental origins, recording with Tambora musicians from Banda Agua Caliente in his hometown of Tijuana, Mexico. Armed with tracks of live horns and woodwinds and percussion, he then integrated his beats and analog synths to create a sonic soundscape of the city where he grew up.
