Item Description
Next 45 up on Polytechnic Youth sees label mainstays Dream Division return to the fray with an ace double A side 45. “Escape from Planet Sauvage” and the krauty “Zarek” are two wonderful slabs of icy Carpenter-esque, electronica.

DD main man Tom McDowell says of the single: “I wanted to explore the sounds of sci-fi disco and cosmic krautrock, drawing influence from my love of the french electronic sound, with groups like Air, Daft punk, Justice, to name a few. Creating an energy usually found in the works of Giorgio Moroder, whilst keeping some of the Dream Division sinister undertones.” By chance -and to these (older!) ears- we here at PY HQ also pick out elements of previous French electronic gods, Richard Pinhas / Heldon, and the Video Liszt stuff lurking within these grooves….

Released as a 300 copy 45, and as a small run cassette (with extra tracks available via the bands’ bandcamp page exclusively), it is destined to sell out super quick.
