Eyelids really had existed long before the band even started. In various previous groupings the band members had the great pleasure of creating music for some of the most legendary indie songwriters ever: Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices), Elliott Smith, Colin Meloy, Stephen Malkmus (Pavement/Jicks). But just a few years ago these longtime friends started to channel their teenage Paisley Underground obsessions & love of New Zealand & Flying Nun guitar buzz into their own music which they described as "sweet melodies & bummer vibes."
