Magic Waves returns with more 12“ action, this time from Funsize Jonny with his debut EP ‘Vemod Exhale’. Hailing from Newcastle in the UK’s North East, Funsize Jonny brings his own unique electronic psychedelic disco style in four mesmerising and hypnotic jams that are guaranteed to take the listeners and dancers on deep inner space trips to the back of their minds and beyond. Side A starts off with the title track, ‘Vemod Exhale’ a rocking mid-paced tone-setter that neatly introduces us to Funsize Jonny’s signature sound before the action is shifted up a gear with ‘Diode 36‘, one the DJs surely cannot resist to send any audience into a frenzy of delirium. Side B takes things deeper with the introspective and atmospheric strains of ‘Seaside Experiment’ and the closing track ‘M.E.’ brings proceedings to a close in magnificent style, its head in psychedelic clouds with its feet far below dancing solidly on the ground right in front of the speakers.
