1970’s J&K: Stonebone, by the trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding, is the rarest of all A&m/cti releases. Recorded in 1969 and only ever released in Japan, this album has not been available since its initial release in 1970 and has never been available on CD or for streaming. Long sought after by collectors, an original copy of this LP can sell for upwards of $1,000 USD. In addition to the two leaders, it features an all-star group that includes Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Bob James, Ron Carter, Grady Tate and Ross Tompkins. Release for RSD 2020 in red vinyl.
