John Williams OST Star Wars: A New Hope - 40th Anniversary Box Set

Celebrating the release of the first movie released way back in 1977, the film franchise phenomenon has generated a combined box office in excess of $4.4 billion.

LP’s 1 and 2 contain the soundtrack content as it was released in 1997. However the audio has been completely restored from the 24/192 digital transfer by Lucasfilm.
LP 3 will have a hologram (Princess Leia as it stands now) with "Princess Leia's Theme" on Side A. Side B includes five different takes of the "Main Title" as it was being developed during the recording session, enabling fans to hear the evolution of one of the most iconic themes of all time.
The 2 part liner notes are written by Jeff Bond and Jeff Eldridge (with Lukas Kendall acting as Supervising Editor). Part 1 speaks to the phenomenon of STAR WARS – its impact on pop culture and the art of film scoring. Part 2 showcases John Williams' musical heritage and legacy, from his father playing percussion for the likes of Raymond Scott, and John's early career as a studio musician (playing piano for Elmer Bernstein's "To Kill a Mockingbird"), and his beginning as a media composer ("Lost In Space", "Time Tunnel", "Playhouse 90", etc).

This limited edition consists of the following:
- Hard cover faux leather wrapped book
- 3 bound and sleeved LPs on 180g vinyl
- A bound 48 page book with images of the recording sessions, scenes of the film, and conceptual art.
