Item Description

Being praised by Toumani Diabaté and curating his own Kora festival in Senegal in April 2018, now is the time for others to discover Lamine Cissokho. Currently living in the south of Sweden, he was approached by producer Karl Jonas Winqvist, who suggested to record an instrumental album, inspired by the Charlie Haden album 'Closeness' (on which Haden made instrumental duets with friends and musicians like Alice Coltrane and Keith Jarrett). Cisshoko collaborated with his favourite Swedish musicians (Lisa Langbacka, Iiris Viljanen, Emil Skogh, Tomas Hallonsten, Abdou Cisshoko and Liliana Zavala) for duets with kora and synths, accordion, Latin percussion etc.
