Item Description

Serena is a 16 track beat tape from Hawthorne recording artist Mat/ Matix (also of C.O.O.L. Band/PPU) with tape artwork and design by Alan Klug. All of the tracks on this tape were recorded and mixed during his time in an apartment on Robertson in LA, where he no longer lives, and this tape serves to archive that time period, the overall vibe, and all the experiences contained within. The tape is limited to 100 units, and musically the vibe is a cross contamination of Modern Funk, House, and Boogie, with a strong ’87-’93 instrumentation feel.
