The live music scene of Bristol, UK has been a melting pot of musical talent for years. MOHAWKESTRA are a quintet who’ve emerged from the centre of that melting pot in 2016 with their debut single on Reed Records, available on 7” vinyl and download.

The Lo Fi studio is where the gritty Funk is forged, always with a nod to the live stage and the B-Boy friendly DJ set in equal measure. Presented on this first of several scheduled releases are 2 blinding British invasion covers that showcase the musicianship of MOHAWKESTRA with The Rolling Stones classic Paint It Black and Green Manalishi of Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac fame.

MOHAWKESTRA opt to record direct to reel to reel tape so as to preserve the warmth and feel found in classic recordings from the 60’s before the days of having the ability to edit out mistakes quite as easily as can be done today.
