There’s a whole lot of reasons why you’d want to do just that, and here they are. We went behind the lens with Hedi Slimane in an exclusive feature shot on the North Shore of Oahu, where he shifted the focus in the opposite direction of the well-documented waves. Hedi gave us a fresh take on the younger generation who’ve got the hallowed stretch in their sights, including Koa Rothman, Charly Quivront and Noa Beschen, and skater Evan Mock.

Training our gaze on the creative world, we set out to curate some bright young things ready to carry the torch in their respective fields. And what better way to uncover the crème de la crème of young creatives than to call up the OGs of the biz; Mike D, Spike Jonze and Craig Anderson proved to be worthy advisors. In our bag of tricks we ended up with a skater, a surfer, an artist, a model, a bar, a brand, and a band—a stellar list if we do say so ourselves.

Aside from the fresh blood, we caught up with MC alumni Stef Mitchell, hung out with Ryan Adams on the first stop of his most recent world tour, were privvy to a boozy tour of Japan with HUF, and got the low-down on how to make a killer Bloody Mary from a highly reliable source.
