Item Description
Mother Braintree were a 1973 group out of Cleveland Ohio. There musical influences seemed at the time to be Funkadelic, Sly and the family stone and Hendrix. Which you can hear on the amazing ghetto funk B-side of “Let Me Lay Beside You” that’s flute led and drops into a killer drum break.
But the A-side is getting some air play from the like of Gilles Peterson and JM on Mi-soul. A beautiful almost spiritual floating Bossa song. Both these tracks are unissued from 1973. Mother Braintree never released anything onto vinyl and these studio sessions have lay dormant since that time.
Later on members Wayne Preston, Larry Ross and Pierre Demudd who go on to be in group Bell Telephunk, and Kinsman Dazz!
