The German Army Trainer Trail by Novesta was inspired by the legendary Bundeswehr indoor sneakers, also known as GAT. Originally developed by adidas for the Bundeswehr (German army), the brand had this athletic shoe made for the military by the political opponent in the Eastern bloc. Apparently, this contradiction was neither a problem for the Bundeswehr nor for the communists in Czechoslovakia. Recently, the Novesta GAT has been revived at its historic production site. For the Trail version of the German Army Trainer, Novesta replaced the original sole with a trail running sole that's known from the brand's Marathon Trail.
