Nudie Jeans Steady Eddie II (Soaked Indigo)

This version of the Steady Eddie II by Nudie Jeans has been treated a little differently - it's neither "dry" nor rinsed. Nudie Jeans soaked them in water and hung them to dry. The result is a wrinkled, slightly hairy denim with an untreated surface and a duller, bluer hue. The advantage of soaking is that it allows the jeans to be worn in almost like dry denim. While the indigo dye will rub off slightly onto the white weft threads, most of the surface-bound indigo will remain on the warp threads. This results in the hairier, duller and slightly bluer hue. During the soaking process, the cotton absorbs water, causing the yarns to swell and distort, increasing the irregularity of the surface texture. This gives Nudie Jeans Steady Eddie II slightly different aging characteristics than dry denim. Through wear, the irregularities become more pronounced and the jeans acquire a more textured aging property. Since it is not rinsed, but only absorbs water, the starch remains on the denim, which causes the fabric to throw sharp wrinkles. It is at these folds that the signs of wear show most clearly.
