For the Black History month 2021, Puma teamed up with Black Fives, a non-profit organization that strives to bring attention to the forgotten NBA history of African-Americans. The Black Fives Foundation has been founded in 2002 to research the huge impact of black people in the history of the NBA, and it must be assumed that the Puma collaboration will help B5s foundation to reach a wider audience.

Back in 1968 - the year, Afro-American athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos saluted to the Black Power movement during the victory ceremony with their Pumas next to them -, Puma introduced the classic Suede, the world-famous basketball low-top b-boys and b-girls made famous during the days of pop-locking, electric boogaloo, and breakdancing in the 1980s.
