The NY producer’s debut on Dream Diary follows a year-long hiatus in Chile and channels a Romanian sound palette in providing a refined, elastic ode to early 2000s Hip Hop. ‘Pour’ kicks things off with sharp, Villalobos-esque drums and a dense, propulsive sub bass. Sultry vocal snippets and soft keys bleed into the mix evincing Ruven’s background in instrumental performance before ‘Jusamin’ follows up with immaculate sound design and deftly controlled dynamics that work to extract power from very few elements.

Warped, trippy signals pan left to right atop a tight, arresting groove as he caps off another fine addition to Dream Diary’s developing catalogue of confident, sophisticated dance music.
