The Teva Hurricane Verge is a more comfortable update of the brand's classic Original Universal - the design that goes back to the brand's origins. While working as a rafting guide at the Grand Canyon in the early 1980s, Teva founder, Mark Thatcher, was desperately looking for a shoe that’s suited for rafting. Due to the fact there was no footwear items for his sports, he developed an own design – water-resistant sandals with non-slip outsoles, a perfect fit as well as comfortable cushioning. The Teva Original Universal was born. Today, these Teva sandals are considered as classics. Equipped with custom Durabrasion™ rubber soles, the Teva Hurricane Verge also features the OG strap system made from recycled REPREVE® polyester yarn by Unifi®, hook and loop closure at several points for perfect fit, an EVA footbed/midsole for lightweight cushioning as well as a Teva flag label while Microban® treatment avoids bad odors.
