Time for the third instalment on Manchester's electronic label SOMETHING IN THE WATER. Following the success of earlier releases which found their way into the bags boxes and hearts of diverse movers and shakers Laurent Garnier, Serge Clone, Osunlade, Marcel Dettmann, Mike Huckaby, Trevino and Motor City Drum Ensemble amongst many others. First up on side A is Sicilian artist TOTO CHIAVETTA with his cut 'Where Has Love Gone'. Toto is simply one of the most talented House/Techno artists in the world and is due to release his debut lp on Osunlade's YORUBA RECORDS later this year. His sound combines the darkness of House Music and the soul of Techno with the rhythms / instruments of Africa. This stalker vibe of a groove sits right next to UR's Suburban Knight. Pitched Black gently re-eq's the original digital version, drops the vocals, rearranges it and gives it a tighter more spaced out feel. Second up is PITCHED BLACK with ASK NOT WHAT a song inspired by the infamous speech made by President Jack Kennedy' 'Ich Bin Ein Berliner' although with an added twist that listeners will discover upon listening to the whole record. The track continues in the motor city influenced highway of groovy drum machine driven funk with added electronic psychedelia. File next to Rob Hood/ Terence Dixon and company.
