KARDO

KARDO menswear made by hand.

KARDO was founded in 2013 to slow things down and take care of the small, neglected details of menswear fashion – as a result, KARDO represents the antithesis of the fast fashion industry’s mass production. Inspired by traditional workwear and classic tailoring, KARDO presents designs for the modern man where tried-and-true silhouettes are given a unique twist with subtle alterations.

Traditional techniques meet contemporary design.

For its collections, KARDO relies on traditional weaving, dyeing, and printing techniques from India. KARDO uses fabrics and finishes such as naturally dyed handloom, block prints, ikat patterns, natural indigo denim, shibori and chikankari embroidery for production. KARDO actively supports and works with handloom weavers throughout India to ensure that these traditional techniques are supported and do not become extinct, and that the environmental impact of KARDO products is minimized.

But KARDO goes a step further by producing garments in a special ONExONE production facility, where each piece is cut by hand, hand-sewn and carefully manually finished from start to end by a single tailor.

Responsible manufacturing is a must!

KARDO designs are created and manufactured in an in-house workshop in New Delhi, India. KARDO treats workers with respect by paying them fair wages for their craftsmanship and providing them with a safe working environment that’s also h armless to health. The origin of each KARDO piece is identified by a label on the garment, noting the hands involved in its production.
