With Totsu , we complete our two-part Keita Sano album. This one, like Kubo before, is a fiery maelstrom of house and disco dance floor destruction that has a dusting of that impossible-to-place Keita Sano absurdity. A magnetic sprint through MPC-fueled workouts, trance-y space-outs, and loopy hypnotizers.

For its eleventh release Italian label What Ever Not, founded by Dodi Palese and Dan Mela, crosses the world to catch up with Japanese producer Keita Sano for a release of singular, no specific style. The contributions debt to disco, house and techno, all of which boast an old school sprint making one move from the inside. The four-track pack melts afro funk contaminations with scented, crunchy and deeply varied patterns, sampled vocal elements and looping melodies.

Keita Sano is part of Japan’s new wave of music producers and he´s been on our map since a very long while. With releases on Let´s Play House, Mister Saturday Night, 1080p, Lower Parts, Row, Strictly Groove Recordings, Enother Blessing, Holic Trax and Spring Theory Keito He´s not only not unknown to us but has shown his eclectic taste and zany approach to music at home and aboard. And his first 4 Track EP offering for your´s truly does proved that once more so . The Okayama resident has been weaving his way through house, techno and electronica releases displaying an affinity to old school processes and vintage gear which you can hear in every bit of his classy unmistakable sound. Raw, rugged & slightly alarming but dry and focused to a massive funk attitude, is this the actual “big room underground"? However, be it the top or water dripping cellar floor this is modern analogue techno at it´s most stringent - and hey there´s a full album it coming later this year. All available on Full Pupp’s “techno not techno"offshoot Rett I Fletta!!!

We finished 2015 with a six-track jumbo EP from Borrowed Identity and thought we'd repeat the same trick for 2016, though this time with originals from Okayama-based producer Keita Sano.EYE begins with “Keep an Eye Out, Pt. 2,” a propulsive song that sounds like a lost contender for the Knight Rider theme. “Own Signal” keeps things dark, but with a spartan bleakness. The side finishes with “Smoker,” another manic cut that'll give you chills. The flip finds Keita exploring brighter sounds without losing that industrial, jagged edge. “TRMK” is essentially a beat track that'll ignite any dance floor and “Fix” is a herky-jerky ditty that'll get you stomping around the club like a possessed reveler. The 12”'s cherry on top is “Think Twice,” a funky ass-shaker that centers around a crackly sample of crowd noise, a chopped-up disco vocal, and bouncy bass. A fiery finale for this hedonistic party.

After the legendary DJ Stingray, Greek imprint Lower Parts strikes again with a heavy hitter. For their 8th release Japanse producer Keita Sano delivers four experimental rough cuts that will push dance floors to the limit. Known for his releases on Mr Saturday Night, 1080p and Spring Theory, 2015 is the year where Sano really opens out. Freaky minimalistic explorations with an industrial twist, four jams for every moment of the night.

New comer on Crowdspacer from Japan, Keita Sano already released a few tracks on the amazing Mr Saturday Night label. For Crowdspacer, he came up with super twisted dirty techno. Kung Fu Dog is like Bruce Lee making beats on cassette tape. Red Clay is like atomic power waves. And One Punch is like Godzilla stepping on your toe. Not for the faint hearted.
