Release:2017 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Lost In Time continues on it’s path exploring timeless underground house music with Number 8 in the series. The ‘Last Step’ EP focuses on the extraordinary production talents of Tuccillo, the Italian musician widely regarded for his Unblock studio. This record marks a deviation in direction for Tuccillo, who is recently returning to his roots, making stripped down minimal dubs aimed directly at the dance floor. LOSTIME008 includes four new cuts which can best be defined as ‘Romanian’ style in essence. In fact Raresh from a:rpia:r and Livio & Roby from Premiesku are early supporters. The title track kicks things off with rolling percussion with more than a hint of latino attitude. Dubby stabs and detroit style chords soon join the party and intricate changes in the drum programming keep subtly lifting the track throughout. ‘Changed’ opts for a totally different tact, opening with lush, dreamy pads which evolve alongside rolling snare patterns and bass grooves to reveal a heavily harmonised spoken word vocal. On The flip side, ‘Drum Engine’ opens with feint, delayed vocal stabs which are joined by celestial, swirling pads, before being abruptly stripped away to reveal a menacing growling bass Finally, ‘Titled’, takes thing in a more minimal direction with airy pads and acid bleeps panning around the mix, showing off Tuccillo's immense production talent.LOSTIME008 ‘Last Step’ is out 22nd May on Lost In Time.

The Lost in Time imprint has been releasing bespoke vinyl for a couple of years now. It got off to a flying start with ‘The Moment’ from Ralph Lawson & Chez Damier and kept up the pace with a series of releases from Ralph Lawson alongside production partner Tuccillo including ‘Nightcrawler’. The track has now been picked up and remixed by Denmark’s finest house music export from Oscillat and Delaphine records, S.A.M and One Records Subb-an.S.A.M is fast becoming one of the very best producers of house and dub techno with a string of highly sought after releases on Delaphine that sell out quickly and attract heat on discogs. S.A.M manages to fuse classic craftsmanship with contemporary sounds and has created an epic and atmospheric 10 minute long re-shape for ‘Nightcrawler’.Subb-an needs little introduction as a producer with high integrity and impeccable taste. He’s graced the decks at Panorama Bar, fabric, Detroit Movement, Womb Tokyo, Enter, DC10, D’Edge and of course the legendary Below parties. While he’s always been busy in the studio with releases for Spectral, Crosstown rebels and 2020Vision. Subb-an strips down ‘Nightcrawler’ to it’s very bones drawing out the classic analogue Kurzweil 2000 synth sound to great effect.Another chapter in the Lost in Time series.

Lost in Time continues to be highly selective with it's rare releases, but when Alex Arnout presented a 4 track EP alongside the legendary Jovonn, we knew we had the next single. New York house pioneer Jovonn has influenced dance music with an eclectic discography dating back to the early 90s and is cited by many of the greats as an inspiration. Previous artists on Lost in Time include Chez Damier, S.A.M, Tuccillo, Subb-an & Ralph Lawson. The label explores the roots of underground deep house and dub techno. The title track 'No Borders' was created in a live session in London with keys by Jovonn played over Arnout's analogue synths and heavily swung drums. Elsewhere on the EP 'Downtown 500', 'Riddim' and 'Jam The Dance' serve up hard hitting; drum heavy grooves for the dance floor. A1 - No Borders - Alex Arnout Feat Jovonn A2 - Downtown 500 B1 - Riddim B2 - Jam The Dance.
