Tapan are back with their first release since their debut album Europa. After that 2xLP emotional and epic Journey they are now showing us again their “dancier” side with two cuts “The Beast” (featuring Serbian musician Jan Nemecek) and Ghana. Both tracks are not easy to categorize. Perhaps Industrial-inspired Tribal-Trance is the closest description, and yet somehow after listening to the tracks it feels like trying to put it in “a box” just don’t do justice with the complexity of the music and its components. Both tracks are remixed by 2 current favorites of the Malka Tuti Crew - Russian duo Odopt who deliver an out-worldly IDM monster of a remix to The Beast, and Italian-Belgian Duo Front De Cadeaux who pitches the track Ghana even slower, adding more percussive grooves, a fat bassline and a whole lot of of sexiness to the brew.

To sign off 2018, Malka Tuti are releasing a mega 4- tracker ep by Khida, in collaboration with their old time friend from back home Mihai Balabas. The 4 different tracks were written over the past few years, slowly plotted produced and perfected, each in its own “twisted” direction. There are no dancefloor killers here, but instead 4 very unique voyages, experimental sonic excursions in time and space. It was the track Chloe that caught our attention, back in 2015. It's not a typical Khidja track, but the musicality and the composition in it reminded us of lost balearic moments. It made us reminisce on summery Sunday mornings back when life was still a bit more innocent, and naive. Out of our infatuation with that track came the idea of “sitting on it” until the right tracks will be ready, and here we are, more than 3 years later.

Shari Vari, is a Hamburg based duo comprising of Sophia Kennedy and Helena Ratka. Sophia Kennedy's name might ring a bell to “professional” and unprofessional audience: The Baltimore born and Hamburg bred luminary released her self titled debut record to quite some critical acclaim on DJ Koze's Pampa Records in 2017, a record that was voted amongst the 20 best electronic records of that year by Pitchfork. Shari Vari are everything you didn’t know you were missing in your life. Their lyrics are fresh, funny and “out-there”, their melodies are catchy and their rhythms are groovy as hell. Their debut LP on Malka Tuti titled NOW is a collection of 8 songs, groovy, gloomy, cheerful and contemplative, mixed all together in mish-mash of genres and influences. Whether they are echoing Suicide’s Alan Vega in songs such as Out of Order or Dance Alone, or telling a story laid over an almost exotic dubby beat in Jungle, their debut album throws the listener back to the days when having all the music in the world in the palm of your hand was a dis- tant dream, and one would simply listen over and over again to their favorite cd on their Sony (or Panasonic?) Disc player until every note and every word in the lyrics is etched to their memory.

Genre:Electronic / Dance
Die Orangen (aka Dreems & Kris Baha) are back on Malka Tuti with the 2nd installment of their Saft series, containing fresh music, remixes, reworks and more... Saft 2 presents 2 tracks, one on each side. On the A side you can find an epic Goa leaning version of the now classic Yaranabe track (off their debut LP Zest), by non-other than Full Circle, aka Joakim and Alexis Le Tan. The proto-goa aficionados, owners of the label Crowdspacer and huge inspiration to Malka Tuti’s sound have delivered a banger like nothing else around, and its already getting mega support by the likes of Vladimir Ivkovic, Ivan Smagghe, John Talabot and many more. On the B-side you can find a new Die Orangen track, which is more like a Journey than track. A 15 minute journey through sonic spaces, ancient futures and alternative dimensions. Although sonically the track screams Industrial, with a closer listen, Die Orangen managed to use a vast pallet of sounds, ideas and magic to create a musical journey that travels outside the boxes of genres and norms.

Plazmot are Yovav (Known for his past productions on Malka Tuti and Correspondant Records as well as being part of the infamous Shame On Us trio) & Assaf Bloom, another upcoming talent from the city that doesn’t want to sleep - Tel Aviv. With their debut release Plazmot brings forward 2 very different tracks, showing the versatility in their productions (and amazing live shows!). On the A-side you will find Orot Levanim (White Strobes in Hebrew), a mid tempo new wave synth-pop song in Hebrew, layered on funky drum machines, guitar riffs and melodies that more than refer to the British synth-pop of the late 70’s and early 80’s but with a visible mediterranean diy touch. The B-side is Allenby, named after one of the key axis’s in Tel-Aviv’s nightlife. Allenby is what techno in Tel Aviv in 2018 is, a crossbreed of Red Axes & Carl Craig, inspired by the both yet with a different vector, almost a song like writing for a techno track. Its atmospheric, its pushing forward, its romantic in its epicness and its both contemporary and eternal.

Exactly one year after their sold-out debut album Zest, Die Orangen (aka Dreems & Kris Baha) are zurück! Malka Tuti and Die Orangen have concocted a double dish, a two part remix package, Saft 1 & Saft 2. The first part consists of a new live version of the track Yaranabe, recorded in a live session as part of the Duo’s infamous analogue live act. A2 is Tapan’s remix of Metal Man. The poem-not-poem is taking shape as a low bpm banger when Tapan’s heavy signature kick meets those trippy vocals. This is Tapan’s first track to be made after finishing their debut Album last year on MT, and its an interesting evolution of their sound, slow dark and punchy, yet with these vocals and bassline, also a catchy post-pop track for the later hours. On the B-side lies Gordon Pohl’s reimagination of Mersey River (aka “the Platypus track”). The tracks “epic", long slow ambient opening and evolution into rhythm resembles in many ways the psychedelic collaboration works of the late Pete Namlook & Move D on Namlooks own Fax records, which was always a significant influence on the Malka Tuti world.

Xen & Yovav return to Malka Tuti in 2018 with full thrust and eyes to the future. After being responsible for the first 2 releases on the label, this time the enigmatic singer and the influential producer collaborate and deliver 2 original songs. Hayom Etmol is a 100% good vibe diy post-punkish poppy song with a flowing synthetic bass line, balearic guitar riffs and dreamy vocals. The B-Side, Shavit, is a vocal led song, with a repetitive guitar bassline and, trip guitar riffs and a minimalistic drum machine. low fi in its production Shavit feels as if it has been dug out of an abandoned 80s record store in the outskirts of Glasgow or Amsterdam, with a strong cold wave feel to it.

Kapitan is Dori Sadovnik, half of the groundbreaking dancefloor-scorching duo Red Axes. In his debut solo LP Alaska, Kapitan takes us on a journey into the deepest realms of his inner psyche. Through his modular synth experimentations, his analogue approach for synthesis and organic instruments he created an lp that is both personal and outgoing, fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Weaving samples from his non-stop traveling schedule as half of one of todays top dance acts, playing guitars, drum machines and synthesizers, the album feels contem- porary and timeless, like it could have been written at anytime in the past 30 years and still feel relevant than ever, echoing Mort Garcon’s modular experimentations as well as early Air music.

Vactrol Park are Kyle Martin and Guido Zen. Besides responsible for 2 unforgettable eps on ESP Institute in 2015 & 2016 under this alias, Kyle and Guido are prolific producers, with Kyle being part of Spectral Empire (alongside Black Merlin), as well as half of Land of Light (with Johnny Nash) and more, while Guido has been producing under the alias of Brain Machine amongst others. Since Malka Tuti has been a fan of all of the above, it is no surprise the duo found its way into the ever growing family. With an LP scheduled later in 2018, this EP, self titled, is a door into the sound of Vactrol Park and its evolution - ever deeper, abstract, and mature. Always clear, coherent and flowing, never boring. Expect big things from this duo, as their live show, incorporating self-built modular synths and effects is destined for greatness.

2018 is going to see the bond between Khidja & Malka Tuti strengthen, with the Romanian duo bringing forward their eclectic, cross-genre approach to electronic music in the shape of 2 full releases as well as several remixes tba. "Plot" & "Am I Really Here" are two dance-floor bangers, not hiding behind fashions and hype, the duo is pushing forward on both tracks, each with its own idea and story to tell. This one continues Malka Tuti’s 12” dance series perfectly, with both tracks being pressed on 45rpm and getting each its own side.

This 2XLP album, Europa, is dedicated to and inspired by events in 2015 & 2016, which saw the spectre of global crisis come knocking at Europe’s doorstep. During this time, more than a million migrants and refugees fled their homes in the Middle East, Northern Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and other conflict ravaged areas in search of a better life. For many, hopes of a future for themselves and their families lay in continental Europe. As already said about the preceding 12” single with the same name - One of the most well- trodden paths on this journey was the Balkan route, a trail leading through Turkey, Greece, and the former Yugoslavia.. This route was not without its dangers, and the dreams of thousands upon thousands were dashed by impassible security fences and discordant EU politics, as one by one they were turned away at borders, or worse, forcibly returned to their countries of origin. Europa was recorded during long jam sessions in Belgrade as the media spotlight started to dim. The city became the purgatorial destination for a large number of migrants, whose journeys had been cut short. This double LP reflects the atmosphere of disillusionment and uncertainty about the future, which descended on the Serbian capital. Dark and melancholic saxophone playing on top of heavy kicks and Mediterranean percussions dominate the epic 17 minutes title track. The collaboration with Jerusalem in My heart continues the melancholic atmosphere, adding to it JIMH signature delayed baglama sounds, to create a 12 minute emotional journey, tearing away abstract concepts of “longing” and “home” with ever growing tension and magnitude. Genre-less, illusive and not easy to categorize, Tapan’s debut album on Malka Tuti is an original soundtrack of a fragment in time and space, capturing a moment and transcending it musically for the rest of the world to experience. Silkscreen print - 180gr Vinyl - Sticker - Insert.
