Echoes In The Corridor
LP | 2016 | US | Original (Mass Media)
25,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Altar De Fey originated in San Francisco in the early 1980's as part of the emerging musical form that would come to be known as Deathrock. Out of the Zeitgeist flash of 70s Punk Rock the new sound took the darkest elements of the counter culture into ever deeper gloomier and more mature territory. Performing at legendary San Francisco venues Mabuhay Gardens, Graffiti, The Nightbreak and the rest billed with Christian Death, 45 Grave, and all the fellow architects of West Coast Post Punk. The original incarnation passed through a rotating cast of characters centered strongly by the vision and experimental guitar of founding member Kent Cates. Though the band had a strong base of support, no original recordings were ever released and the young members carried on into new musical endeavors. By 1985 ADF disbanded. A new generation of underground Deathrock music is growing across the world, in closer, more direct communication than ever before, and interest in the band has quickly escalated. Altar De Fey has recorded a full album of original material and is eager to get the sound out into the world once and for all.

Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
The Finnish Post-punkers Silent Scream have done it again with an amazing 3rd full length. "Carrion Screaming" is slightly different yet a growth from their previous material. This band is able to capture and incredible versatility in a time where post-punk is at it's height and a lot of bands are playing it safe. Silent scream took their full length LP to the next level, still heavy, dark and sinister they managed to also embrace an emotional side that is a really nice surprise. This record has something for everyone and we are so honored to have been part of the process. Don't sleep on the release, they'll be gone before you know it!

Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Great debut by two man political dark punk from Moscow Russia. The Crisis and Mob influences are clear and the grim sense of hope that these bands portrayed is reiterated in Sierpien's music in a way I haven't heard in so long. Simple and immediately catchy despite the Russian language this is a peace punk album for the modern times. Classic in approach but with a strong emphasis on the current state of conflict/apathy in Russia and beyond. For fans of classic dark peace punk such as Fall Out, The Mob, Zounds and Crisis as well as Polish "Zimna Fala"/ "positive punk" from the mid 1980s.

Genre:Rock / Indie
Beautiful ethereal Post wave punk, driving guitars and atmospheric bass lines accompanied by Brandi's vocals make a perfect combination. It's the type of record you'll want to hear in a club or just sitting at home. Seriously is beautiful! Comparisons to bands like Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil come to mind at times on this record, however Rhythm of Cruelty takes the beauty of those two artist of the past and give a harder, darker, post punk edge and ambience.
Dystopian Society - Cages

LP | 2016 | US | Original (Mass Media)
15,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Bringing together the classic elements of gothic post punk with a distinct social commentary found within the most resounding peace punk manifestos, CAGES is a powerful document of punk music turned introspective and dark but not leaving behind its urgency and timeless angst. The bass lines on this record set the tone throughout, simple and penetrating cycles of existential anguish with the faintest light of hope glimmering through a seemingly hopeless condition. The guitar work on this album assures that this isnt a completely helpless world view and brings forth a sense of powerful rebellion as well as complementing melodies. Add to this the drums and vocals that affirm that Dystopian Society is a death ROCK band with passionate drive that rises far above the cemetery bound pacing of many death rock bands. This is one of those records that didn't even take more than a few listens to inspire the most jaded punk into feeling that she is not alone with not only her connection to the classic sounds of death rock that gave her a love for music as a youth but also to the very idea of punk music as an artistic expression of political and personal turmoil in the current era.
