German one man band Kanonenfieber is ready to release Yankee Division, a two-song 7” once again deeply rooted in the Great War. 1918, the year that brought the end of World War I. After Germany declared unrestricted submarine warfare against the rest of the world and sank ships carrying passengers from the United States. The United States of America declared war on Germany. Initially still under the command of the British and French, the Americans got their first chance to take the battlefield under their own direction at the Battle of St. Mihiel. The Yankee Division, as it was popularly known, now came into play.

A long planned reissue project, it's nice to have this one finally happen after only 15 years since we started talking about it! The G-anx / Filthy Christians split 7" was pretty influential to a fledgling Dropdead back in 1991/1992. Two Swedish hardcore/punk bands each approaching fast crazy HC with completely different approaches. We listened to this record a ton, and maybe the influences can't be heard in the DD sound, but it's been there from the start. Kitchen is the first aural glimpse into the Vespertine project, a collaborative concept wherein the entirety of Chef Jordan Kahn’s new Culver City restaurant has been custom-scored by Los Angeles’ own This Will Destroy YOU. One of seven pieces written for the building itself (and even the space around it), Kitchen is the music that diners first hear as they are greeted by Chef Kahn before dinner service begins for the evening. In composing the music for this interaction, This Will Destroy YOU’s Chris King and Jeremy Galindo sought to convey a warm, hospitable – if not reassuring – tone for listeners that may (or may not) be present elsewhere as they discover and explore the spaces in and around Vespertine’s looming architectural monolith for the remainder of their stay.

San Luis Potosí's Cotärd have been shovelling the grime in Mexico since their initial inception back in 2018. They've established themselves as major players in the Mexican, DIY Punk Scene booking tours, driving bands and playing a perfected '90s style Swedish/UK, D-Beat/Crust. This new, 4 Track EP finds them laying into their particular blend of the dark and dismal and is their first release since their 2020 Demo and in their most focused and punishing form. The winded exasperations call back to the vocal stylings of classics like Doom and the musical D-Beat/Crust attack reminiscent of juggernauts like Disgust and Napalm Raid are clear and not unfounded comparisons. There's a bleak levity weaving through the relentlessness and it showcases that incessant brooding of the human existence. A not-so-subtle cry for a way out in a world gone mad.

Norwegian underground legends Purified in Blood dropped some long-awaited new music online in 2022 with their gut wrenching and explosive tracks Krater and Myrå. Purified in Blood’s aggressive and unique take on metal has ripped through the scene since 2003, influencing several of contemporary metal and punk acts. We announced our cooperation with Grá over one year ago. Now, the time has finally come to shed some light over the Swedish black metal band’s latest activity, and there is no better way than a good, old 7’’. Here comes Flame Of Hephaestus. We asked the band to comment on the new single, which will serve as an anticipation for their incoming fourth studio album, following the acclaimed Väsen (2018). Guitarist and singer Heljarmadr (Dark Funeral) expressed his thoughts: “Flame Of Hephaestus” is the first single from our new album Lycaon. We feel that it is a good representative for the album and it carries an intensity that kinda connects it with our last album Väsen. It serves as a natural bridge, if you will.

Founded in 1993, Jucifer pioneered the metal two piece. With 29 years of incessant touring the band carved its reputation for literally towering onstage sound, which careens venomously from their walls of speakers in every extreme and tempo of metal and punk. Jucifer's motto "sludge, black, grind, thrash, death, crust, doom, combine" or more briefly "genre=obliterate" is fair warning.

Skeletal Earth was one of those bands that stuck out. Being influenced by both death and thrash metal as well as the more crossover style where hardcore punk meets metal they came up with an original sounding couple of demos and albums. Their debut Eulogy for a Dying Fetus was recorded at Tampa, Florida based Morrisound Studios ( Death, Cynic, Agent Steel) and produced by Scott Burns (Cannibal Corpse, Atheist, Deicide). In April 1993 Skeletal Earth went back to the famous Morrisound Studios in Tampa to record 5 new tracks to be released as the ‘Dreighphuck’ 7" vinyl EP. Drummer Doug Sylvia also played with Fear of God (featuring Detenete's Dawn Crosby R.I.P.)

Edged Circle Productions is proud to present a brand-new EP from Angelblast, Throne of Ashes, on 7" vinyl! It was but late 2019 when Angelblast made their swift-yet-devastating entrance into the world with the Rotting Paradise EP. Although "merely" three songs, Rotting Paradise impressed with its just-blackened-enough Metal of Death attack, recalling '90s Morbid Angel, Dissection, Necrophobic, Malevolent Creation, and Unanimated, but already with an identity of their own. But calling Angelblast a "new" band was something of a misnomer, as the duo included members from old-school Swedeath cult Excruciate as well as fellow labelmates Darkened. Now expanded to a quartet, Angelblast deliver another blistering EP with the two-song Throne of Ashes. While those aforementioned references remain, here do Angelblast blacken that attack even more decisively, sounding more expansive and world-eating in the process. In fact, alongside labelmates IN Aphelion - who themselves will also be delivering a first full-length soon enough - one could argue that the new breed of old-school blackened death is equally secured by Angelblast. Eleven minutes in total but totally breathless and epic, Throne of Ashes absolutely Commands repeat plays! Graced again by amazing artwork from Juanjo Castellano Rosado (Unleashed, Revel in Flesh, Gates of Ishtar), Throne of Ashes sounds the trumpets of doom for Angelblast's imminent debut album!

Raw Power was formed in 1981 by two brothers from Poviglio, Italy, Mauro on vocals and Giuseppe on guitars. Land of the Rising Spaghetti commemorates their 40th Anniversary release and their pre-Covid 19 tour of Japan with the Ananas opening. The line-up for Raw Power's side of the record includes Mauro Codeluppi on vocals, Marco Massarenti on bass, Paolo on guitars, Berta on drums and Giuseppe in spirit. Sadly, Giuseppe left the planet on October 6th, 2002 but his guitar can still be heard screaming from the gutters. He was with Raw Power for slightly over a quarter of a century and is the driving force between Mauro's desire to keep the band functioning until he too passes on. Executive producer, David Ulysses Portnow first saw Raw Power in 1986 at the Gorilla Gardens all-ages club where he worked until its closure. "Funny thing about that night, the opening band was Guns & Roses," he recalls. In 1987, Raw Power returned to the US and headlined a massive US and Canadian tour with the Dayglo Abortions and Dehumanizers in tow. Raw Power have also performed with the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Adolescents, DOA, Agnostic Front, Suicidal Tendencies, Motorhead and a list of heavy hitters that goes on and on, including Japan's female fronted Ananas. PIG Records was searching for more female representation in punk and found it with the Ananas. PIG Records wants to emphasize the importance of women in rock. Mauro gave his full support to the concept and describes front lady Karina Friday as the modern-day version of Mr. Chi Pig from Snfu, may his soul rest in peace as well. The Ananas are from Kyoto, Japan and Karina is supported by Junichi on guitars, Awaji on bass and Kazu on drums.

Charging hard, charging free, TO THE Dogs have Motorcharge on lock, but also nod to classic blackthrash (think early Aura Noir) and the punkiest speed metal (think classic Warfare). As long-time mutual friends they formed in the summer 2018 and jammed solidly throughout the ensuing winter months. Portrayal of Guilt and Slow Fire Pistol are two of heavy music's most compelling up and coming bands, with the defining sounds of both groups rooted in their unique abilities to deftly mine the depths of hardcore's many subgenres, and draw influence while avoiding nostalgia. While relatively new, the two bands have already built impressive catalogs, and now they're teaming up for the release of a blistering new split EP from Run For Cover. Formed in 2017 and based in Austin, Texas, Portrayal of Guilt (guitarist/vocalist Matt King, drummer James Beveridge, and bassist Alex Stanfield) have quickly gained attention for their punishing sound that pulls from many corners of aggressive music. The band's critically acclaimed 2018 full-length, Let Pain Be Your Guide, puts an extreme spin on elements of screamo, hardcore, noise, and more, while showcasing King's bleak lyrisicm. Portrayal of Guilt's contribution to the split EP, "The End of Man Will Bring Peace to This Earth," provides a glimpse of what's to come as their crushing sonics continue to evolve. Atlanta, Georgia's Slow Fire Pistol began shortly before Portrayal of Guilt, with its members (guitarist/vocalist Hank Pratt, guitarist Ben Jordan, bassist Connor McFall, and drummer Blake Hall) also sharing roots in hardcore and an appreciation of first wave screamo. Those influences coalesced into songs that incorporate both visceral aggression and stunning moments of melody. The band honed their sound across a series of EPs, culminating with 2019's harrowing Love Riddled With Conditions, and now their split offering, "Heart of Discernment." After a pummeling minute of punk speed and cutting riffs the song unexpectedly shifts into a nearly five minute build up, with dynamic and tempos shifts blossoming to match Pratt's pained lament for empathy. The Portrayal of Guilt and Slow Fire Pistol split EP is more than just a collaboration between friends with mutual influences, it's a snapshot of the shared spirit between these two groups and their common instinct to push the boundaries of loud, heavy, aggressive music. It's an artful approach to primal sounds, and a promising look at what's to come from both bands.

On their debut 7” EP of bestial and barbaric sonic warfare the mysterious Belarusian war machine GOAT TERROR draws influence from the most unholy fringe of bestial satanic war/goat metal like Proclamation, Conqueror, Blasphemy, and Impiety, to summon the very embodiment of complete chaos and pestilence, wielding their sonic armageddon like an abominable weapon of mass destruction to unleash it unto the human race in the most gruesome and atrocious way possible.

Two raw and unmixed songs from Wind’s Poem were transferred from the original analog tape masters into the ProTools HDX system at Owl Lodge. The studio is situated in the woods near Olympia, WA and is the headquarters of Wolves in the Throne Room. A single vocal track from “Lost Wisdom" was layered with newly recorded digital synths and a heavy bass from a vintage Korg MS-20. Wisps of the original organ and guitar appear in a heavily processed form. “Mouth of Sky” was created using techniques inspired by Lee Perry. In this case, the original tracks were routed to a variety of analog and digital FX units via the faders on the studio’s Harrison PP1 console. The mix was performed in real time.
