Mizuno Shoes

The Japanese brand Mizuno Brothers Ltd was established by Richachi Mizuno in 1906 and started retail activity for sports apparel twelve years later. In 1938, Mizuno founded the Select Scientific Laboratory to bring a scientific edge to sports. In 1981, Mizuno introduced the groundbreaking Runbird design at pro sports meetings, two years later these shoes went on sale. When iconic tennis player Ivan Lendl left adidas, he was signed by Mizuno in 1990 to win the Australian Open the same year. Powered by custom Wave technology, the Wave Rider was another Mizuno landmark release in 1997. In the late 90s, Mizuno designed a football boot specifically for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Mizuno managed to carry the brand’s rich heritage into the future and is proud that such an important history has accomplished over more than a century. Mizuno believes the best way to honor their tradition is to finding cutting edge solutions that can maximize not only performances, but also life. For Mizuno, innovation is not only a revolutionary idea, but being able to translate a concept into something that creates ongoing value for its customers. Also, Japanese craftsmanship is respectful and mindful of the employees and the people it caters towards, of the materials selected to work, and of the instruments needed to achieve the needed results. It means to strive for perfection to meet people’s needs at the highest level.
